The placement of the stove, sink, refrigerator, and the direction you face while cooking all play a crucial role in maintaining the energy balance of your kitchen.
South-East (best) or North-West direction. Never in the North-East, center, or directly in front of the main entrance.
Place the stove in the South-East corner. Cook facing East. Keep the stove a few inches away from the wall.
Sink should be in the North-East of the kitchen. Keep stove and sink apart — fire and water should not clash.
Place in the South-West, West, or North. Keep distance from stove. Avoid the North-East corner for heavy appliances.

Vastu advises against having the kitchen adjacent to or directly opposite a bathroom or toilet. The fire element of the kitchen conflicts with the water element of the bathroom, creating negative energy.
Orange, red, and yellow are the best colors for the kitchen as they represent the fire element. Green is also suitable for promoting health. Avoid black and dark blue colors in the kitchen.
The refrigerator should be placed in the South-West, West, or North direction of the kitchen. Avoid placing it in the North-East corner. Keep some distance between the refrigerator and the stove.
