Personal Month and Personal Day Number: How to Calculate

Published 2026-10-28 | Live Pandit Ji

In modern Western numerology a personal month number is your personal year number plus the number of the calendar month, reduced; a personal day number is that personal month plus the day of the month, reduced again. Two choices decide what you get. The first is whether 11, 22 and 33 are kept along the way, which matters in November because November is month 11. The second is which personal year you start from in the weeks before your birthday. Counted over all 366 birthdays, the first choice changes the November 2026 answer for 74 of them, and the second changes the personal month on 49.9% of all birthday-days in 2027.

Everything below is addition. The page prints no meaning for any month or day number.

The Arithmetic, in Three Steps

  • Personal year. Birth day and birth month added to the current year, reduced. The personal year page sets out the three adding orders calculators use and counts where they disagree; this page takes the first of them, every digit added at once.
  • Personal month. The personal year plus the calendar month (January 1, December 12), reduced.
  • Personal day. The personal month plus the date (1 to 31), reduced.

The universal month and universal day are the same sums without the birthday: the universal year (the year’s digits added) plus the month, and then plus the day. Since 2027’s digits add up to 11, a master number, its universal months already show the keep-or-reduce split:

2027JanFebMarAprMayJunJulAugSepOctNovDec
Masters kept3456789123225
All reduced first3456789111345

Only September and November differ. Keeping both masters, 11 + 11 = 22 in November; reducing first, 2 + 2 = 4. In September it runs the other way: 11 + 9 = 20, which reduces to 2, while 2 + 9 = 11 stops at a master number.

November 2026: Month 11, Kept or Reduced

There are two ways to do this sum. One form keeps the personal year as it came out (11, 22 or 33 held) and adds November as 11. The other reduces both to single digits first, so November enters as 2. Three birthdays show the possible outcomes:

  • Born 29 August. 2 + 9 + 8 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 29, so the 2026 personal year is 11. Kept: 11 + 11 = 22. Reduced: 2 + 2 = 4.
  • Born 3 September. 3 + 9 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 22, a personal year of 22. Kept: 22 + 11 = 33. Reduced: 4 + 2 = 6.
  • Born 7 January. 7 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 18, so the personal year is 9. Kept: 9 + 11 = 20, which reduces to 2. Reduced: 9 + 2 = 11, held as a master number.

Across every birthday, the kept form gives 33 to 32 birthdays (all 32 whose 2026 personal year is 22) and 22 to 3 (the three whose personal year is 11). The reduced form never reaches 22 or 33 in November 2026; instead it gives 11 to 39 birthdays, every one a personal year of 9, which the kept form turns into 2. That is 74 of 366 birthdays with two different answers. In each case the single digit underneath is the same, because adding digits never changes a number’s remainder on division by nine.

December 2026 and January 2027

December is month 12, and 1 + 2 = 3 whichever form you use, so the two forms agree for every birthday: 41 birthdays reach 11 and none reach 22 or 33. January 2027 brings a new personal year on the calendar convention, and no birthday reaches a master number that month on either form.

Through a calendar year the single digit climbs by one each month from January to September. October, November and December add 1, 2 and 3 again, so they repeat January, February and March. Then on 1 January the personal year rises by one while the month falls from 12 to 1, and the digit drops back one. As a result January 2027 has the same single digit as November 2026 for every birthday. Born 15 August, on the calendar convention:

A Lookup for the Next Three Months

The single-digit personal month depends on only one thing about you: your birth day plus your birth month, reduced. The year and the calendar month add a fixed amount, the same for everyone. So add your day and month and reduce (born 28 October: 2 + 8 + 1 + 0 = 11, reduced to 2) and read across:

Each column is the row number plus 3, 4 and 3 respectively, counted round from 9 back to 1; the table was checked against the full sum for all 366 birthdays. It gives the single digit. If yours is 2, 4 or 6 in November, go back to the previous section: one form or the other may show 11, 22 or 33 for your birthday.

Which Personal Year Applies Before Your Birthday?

Some numerology writers change the personal year on 1 January, with the calendar. Others change it on your birthday, so until your birthday you are still in last year’s number. The month sum is the same either way; what changes is the personal year you feed into it. Before the birthday, the birthday convention gives a single digit one lower than the lookup above, in every column, for every birthday.

How much of 2027 does that affect? For each birthday, the two conventions give different personal months on every day of 2027 before it and on no day from the birthday on. Summed over the 365 birthdays that fall in 2027 (29 February has no 2027 date, so it is left out of this count), that is 66,430 of 1,33,225 birthday-days, 49.9%: just under half. Counting whole calendar months instead, 2,017 of 4,380 birthday-months (46.1%) differ for the entire month, and 2,372 of 4,392 (54%, now with 29 February) differ on at least one day.

The range runs from nothing to almost everything. Born 1 January, the two conventions coincide all year. Born 31 December, they differ on 364 of the 365 days. Born 15 August, they differ on 226 days across eight months: the whole of January to July and the first 14 days of August. This page does not choose between the conventions; it only shows where they give different numbers.

Personal Day: One Step a Day, Then a Jump

Within a month the single-digit personal day goes up by one each day, 9 back to 1, for every birthday on every day of 2027. At a month end the date drops to 1 and the month number rises by one, and the step that results depends only on how long the month was, not on your birthday. On the calendar convention in 2027:

  • Continues: one month end, 28 February, where the next digit follows in sequence.
  • Falls back one: four month ends, after each 30-day month (April, June, September and November); 1st of the next month repeats the digit of the 29th.
  • Falls back two: six month ends, after each 31-day month from January to October.
  • Into a new year: 31 December 2027 to 1 January 2028 moves 5 places forward round the cycle, since the year, the month and the date all change at once.

No month end in 2027 repeats a digit outright; that needs a 29-day February, and in 2028 the step from 29 February to 1 March is a repeat. On the birthday convention one more join appears: on the birthday the personal year rises by one, so the day digit skips one. That holds for all 353 birthdays of 2027 that are not on the 1st of a month. Born 15 August, on both conventions:

Date (2027)Calendar conventionBirthday convention
30 January21
31 January32
1 February19
2 February21
27 February98
28 February19
1 March21
2 March32
13 August19
14 August21
15 August33
16 August44

The two columns run one apart until 15 August and are identical from then on. The personal day uses single digits throughout here; the keep-or-reduce choice from November applies again at this step for anyone who keeps masters.

Universal Day Numbers in 2027, Counted

The universal day is the same for everyone on a given date. Below, every one of the 365 days of 2027: the single digit, then two ways of keeping masters. “All digits” adds every digit of the date at once; “month then day” adds the kept universal month to the date, the date itself reduced the same way.

NumberDays (single digit)All digitsMonth then day

7424242
8404040
9414141

22–360
33–02

If the digit stepped by one every day all year, 365 days would give each number 40 or 41. The month-end jumps break that: 1 and 3 fall on 39 days each, and 5 and 7 on 42. The two master-number columns differ far more. Adding all the digits, 2027 contributes 11, so any date whose own digits add to 11 lands on 22, which happens on 36 days; 11 itself needs the date’s digits to add to 18, which only 29 July, 19 August, 28 August, 9 September, 18 September and 27 September do. Month then day reverses the picture: 34 days of 11, none of 22, and 33 on two days, 11 November and 29 November.

What This Page Does Not Give

No month or day number is given a meaning here, and none is called a good or bad time for anything. A reading of that kind cannot be checked by the sums above, so it is left out, together with any lucky colour, day or direction. The numbers that a birth date fixes for good are counted on other pages: the life path guide works through the same keep-or-reduce question for the whole date, and the Lo Shu grid page tallies the empty boxes in each date’s grid. In Brief

  • Personal month: personal year + calendar month, reduced; personal day adds the date
  • November 2026: keeping 11 or reducing it first gives different answers for 74 of 366 birthdays
  • Lookup: the single digit needs only your birth day + month, reduced
  • Before your birthday: the birthday convention is one lower; the two differ on 49.9% of birthday-days in 2027
  • Day by day: +1 a day inside a month; after a 30- or 31-day month it falls back
  • Universal day 2027: 36 days of 22 adding all digits, 34 days of 11 adding month then day
