Mokshada Ekadashi & Geeta Jayanti 2028: Monday, 27 November 2028

Mokshada Ekadashi & Geeta Jayanti in 2028 falls on Monday, 27 November 2028. It is kept on the Shukla Ekadashi of amanta Margashirsha.

Why Mokshada Ekadashi Is on 27 November in 2028

The Shukla Ekadashi begins at 23:59 on 26 November 2028 and ends at 02:18 on 28 November 2028. The 2028 instants are the same everywhere; only the clock they are read on changes. The rule recorded for Mokshada Ekadashi tests the tithi at sunrise, the default test for most of the calendar.

On 27 November 2028 the Sun rises at 06:53 and sets at 17:24 at New Delhi. The Shukla Ekadashi is running at that sunrise, which is the test, so 27 November 2028 is the day.

In 2028 the Shukla Ekadashi lasts 26 hours 19 minutes, against 22 hours 6 minutes in 2026 and 24 hours 21 minutes in 2027: a tithi is twelve degrees of the Moon’s gain on the Sun, and the Moon never gains at a steady rate. The day itself runs 10 hours 31 minutes from sunrise to sunset at New Delhi.

When the Shukla Ekadashi begins, the Moon is in Uttara Bhadrapada, ruled by Saturn.
