Bhakoot Koota: 7 of the 36 Guna
Bhakoot is worth 7 of the 36 guna. It compares the distance between the two Moon signs, counted both ways. Measured over every one of the 11,664 bride-and-groom pairings of Moon positions, Bhakoot scores nothing in 5,832 (50.0%) and its full 7 in 5,832 (50.0%). Every lineage scores Bhakoot the same way, so each pairing has one Bhakoot figure.
| Bhakoot score | Pairings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 5,832 | 50.0% |
| 7 | 5,832 | 50.0% |
How much Bhakoot moves the total: pairings that score nothing on Bhakoot average 17.1 guna in all, and pairings that score its full 7 average 22.26, a gap of 5.16. That is less than Bhakoot’s own 7, so pairings that fail Bhakoot make some of it back, on average, on the other kootas.
Your own Bhakoot score depends on both Moon positions; the reasoning behind it is what the report prints koota by koota. The Free Kundli Matching tool gives the eight koota scores and the total, which is the headline answer; the Kundali Milan detailed report works the same arithmetic further from your own birth details, and its page lists what it contains.
The other kootas: Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana and Nadi. Totals score by score are on the guna milan page; the method in the 36 gunas explained. In Hindi: भकूट कूट.
