Ardra Nakshatra: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027
13 days in 2026 · 13 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi
Ardra is the 6th of the 27 nakshatras. A panchang names a day by the nakshatra running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Ardra was the nakshatra at sunrise in New Delhi on 26 days: 13 in 2026 and 13 in 2027. Once it began after one sunrise and ended before the next, so it named no day at all (between the sunrises of 13 July 2026 and 14 July 2026), and it never held two sunrises in a row.
The muhurta texts put Ardra in the Tikshna (sharp) group, which is the class the muhurat filter reads it by. Its own page, Ardra nakshatra, covers it as a birth star.

By weekday, Ardra held sunrise most often on Wednesdays (6 times) and least on Mondays and Tuesdays (2): Sunday 3, Monday 2, Tuesday 2, Wednesday 6, Thursday 4, Friday 4, Saturday 5. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the nakshatra run on unrelated cycles.
Festivals that fell on an Ardra day: Paush Purnima (3 January 2026) and Ram Navami (26 March 2026).
In the cycle Ardra comes after Mrigashira and before Punarvasu; all 27 are on the nakshatra index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: आर्द्रा नक्षत्र.
