Shukla Dwadashi Tithi: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027

13 days in 2026 · 11 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi

Shukla Dwadashi is the 12th of the 30 tithis, the bright fortnight’s 12th. A panchang names a day by the tithi running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Shukla Dwadashi was the tithi at sunrise in New Delhi on 24 days: 13 in 2026 and 11 in 2027. Once it began after one sunrise and ended before the next, so it named no day at all (between the sunrises of 19 January 2027 and 20 January 2027), and once it held two sunrises in a row, naming two consecutive days (24 August 2026 and 25 August 2026).

Its number, 12, is neither rikta nor among the tithis the muhurat filter favours. A list of the days a tithi held sunrise is not a list of vrat days: an observance tied to a tithi is fixed by its own rule, which the festival pages apply one by one.

By weekday, Shukla Dwadashi held sunrise most often on Fridays (6 times) and least on Wednesdays (1): Sunday 3, Monday 4, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 1, Thursday 4, Friday 6, Saturday 2. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the tithi run on unrelated cycles.

In the cycle Shukla Dwadashi comes after Shukla Ekadashi and before Shukla Trayodashi; all 30 are on the tithi index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: शुक्ल द्वादशी तिथि.
