Harshana Yoga: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027

13 days in 2026 · 12 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi

Harshana is the 14th of the 27 yogas. A panchang names a day by the yoga running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Harshana was the yoga at sunrise in New Delhi on 25 days: 13 in 2026 and 12 in 2027. Four times it began after one sunrise and ended before the next, so it named no day at all (between the sunrises of 19 November 2026 and 20 November 2026; 15 May 2027 and 16 May 2027; 31 July 2027 and 1 August 2027; 20 September 2027 and 21 September 2027), and it never held two sunrises in a row.

Harshana is not among the nine yogas the muhurat filter rejects, so on its 25 days the yoga is no obstacle; the other four limbs still have to pass.

By weekday, Harshana held sunrise most often on Sundays (6 times) and least on Mondays (0): Sunday 6, Monday 0, Tuesday 5, Wednesday 4, Thursday 3, Friday 4, Saturday 3. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the yoga run on unrelated cycles.

Festivals that fell on a Harshana day: Krishna Janmashtami (4 September 2026), Sharad Purnima (25 October 2026), Hanuman Jayanti (20 April 2027) and Dev Uthani (10 November 2027).

In the cycle Harshana comes after Vyaghata and before Vajra; all 27 are on the yoga index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: हर्षण योग.
