Ram Navami 2027: Thursday, 15 April 2027
Shukla Navami · amanta Chaitra · computed for New Delhi
Ram Navami in 2027 falls on Thursday, 15 April 2027. It is kept on the Shukla Navami of amanta Chaitra.
Why Ram Navami Is on 15 April in 2027
The Shukla Navami begins at 15:24 on 14 April 2027 and ends at 13:21 on 15 April 2027. The 2027 instants are the same everywhere; only the clock they are read on changes. The rule recorded for Ram Navami tests the tithi at madhyahna, the middle part of the day between sunrise and sunset (“tithi at madhyahna”).
On 15 April 2027 the Sun rises at 05:56 and sets at 18:46 at New Delhi. The Shukla Navami is already running at sunrise, so on 15 April 2027 the sunrise rule and the madhyahna rule agree.
In 2027 the Shukla Navami lasts 21 hours 57 minutes, against 22 hours 18 minutes in 2026 and 22 hours 7 minutes in 2028: a tithi is twelve degrees of the Moon’s gain on the Sun, and the Moon never gains at a steady rate. The day itself runs 12 hours 50 minutes from sunrise to sunset at New Delhi, so its midpoint, the centre of madhyahna, falls near 12:21.
The daily panchang for 15 April 2027 gives Shukla Navami at sunrise; the day before, Shukla Ashtami; the day after, Shukla Dashami. At that sunrise the yoga is Dhriti and the karana Kaulava. The panchang for 15 April 2027 has the rest of the day.
When the Shukla Navami begins, the Moon is in Pushya, ruled by Saturn.
