Swati Nakshatra: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027
15 days in 2026 · 14 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi
Swati is the 15th of the 27 nakshatras. A panchang names a day by the nakshatra running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Swati was the nakshatra at sunrise in New Delhi on 29 days: 15 in 2026 and 14 in 2027. It never fell between two sunrises without holding one, and twice it held two sunrises in a row, naming two consecutive days (18 August 2026 and 19 August 2026; 8 November 2026 and 9 November 2026).
The muhurta texts put Swati in the Chara (movable) group, which is the class the muhurat filter reads it by. Its own page, Swati nakshatra, covers it as a birth star.

By weekday, Swati held sunrise most often on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays (5 times) and least on Tuesdays and Thursdays (3): Sunday 5, Monday 5, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 4, Thursday 3, Friday 5, Saturday 4. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the nakshatra run on unrelated cycles.
Festivals that fell on a Swati day: Buddha Purnima (1 May 2026), Nirjala Ekadashi (25 June 2026), Diwali (8 November 2026) and Govardhan Puja (30 October 2027).
In the cycle Swati comes after Chitra and before Vishakha; all 27 are on the nakshatra index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: स्वाती नक्षत्र.
