Vishakha Nakshatra: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027

15 days in 2026 · 14 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi

Vishakha is the 16th of the 27 nakshatras. A panchang names a day by the nakshatra running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Vishakha was the nakshatra at sunrise in New Delhi on 29 days: 15 in 2026 and 14 in 2027. It never fell between two sunrises without holding one, and twice it held two sunrises in a row, naming two consecutive days (9 February 2026 and 10 February 2026; 2 May 2026 and 3 May 2026).

The muhurta texts put Vishakha in the Mishra (mixed) group, which is the class the muhurat filter reads it by. Its own page, Vishakha nakshatra, covers it as a birth star.

By weekday, Vishakha held sunrise most often on Tuesdays (6 times) and least on Wednesdays (2): Sunday 5, Monday 4, Tuesday 6, Wednesday 2, Thursday 4, Friday 3, Saturday 5. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the nakshatra run on unrelated cycles.

Festivals that fell on a Vishakha day: Govardhan Puja (10 November 2026), Buddha Purnima (20 May 2027) and Bhai Dooj (31 October 2027).

In the cycle Vishakha comes after Swati and before Anuradha; all 27 are on the nakshatra index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: विशाखा नक्षत्र.
