Krishna Navami Tithi: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027

12 days in 2026 · 13 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi

Krishna Navami is the 24th of the 30 tithis, the dark fortnight’s 9th. A panchang names a day by the tithi running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Krishna Navami was the tithi at sunrise in New Delhi on 25 days: 12 in 2026 and 13 in 2027. It never fell between two sunrises without holding one, and it never held two sunrises in a row.

Its number, 9, makes Krishna Navami a rikta (“empty”) tithi, one of the three the muhurat filter rejects in both fortnights, so none of its 25 days is offered as a muhurat day. A list of the days a tithi held sunrise is not a list of vrat days: an observance tied to a tithi is fixed by its own rule, which the festival pages apply one by one.

By weekday, Krishna Navami held sunrise most often on Mondays (5 times) and least on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (3): Sunday 3, Monday 5, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 4, Thursday 3, Friday 4, Saturday 3. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the tithi run on unrelated cycles.

In the cycle Krishna Navami comes after Krishna Ashtami and before Krishna Dashami; all 30 are on the tithi index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: कृष्ण नवमी तिथि.
