Krishna Saptami Tithi: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027

14 days in 2026 · 13 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi

Krishna Saptami is the 22nd of the 30 tithis, the dark fortnight’s 7th. A panchang names a day by the tithi running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Krishna Saptami was the tithi at sunrise in New Delhi on 27 days: 14 in 2026 and 13 in 2027. It never fell between two sunrises without holding one, and twice it held two sunrises in a row, naming two consecutive days (9 January 2026 and 10 January 2026; 27 May 2027 and 28 May 2027).

Its number, 7, is among the tithis the muhurat filter favours, so on its 27 days the tithi is no obstacle. A list of the days a tithi held sunrise is not a list of vrat days: an observance tied to a tithi is fixed by its own rule, which the festival pages apply one by one.

By weekday, Krishna Saptami held sunrise most often on Saturdays (6 times) and least on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays (3): Sunday 4, Monday 3, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 4, Thursday 4, Friday 3, Saturday 6. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the tithi run on unrelated cycles.

Festivals that fell on a Krishna Saptami day: Krishna Janmashtami (24 August 2027).

In the cycle Krishna Saptami comes after Krishna Shashthi and before Krishna Ashtami; all 30 are on the tithi index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: कृष्ण सप्तमी तिथि.
