Shukla Saptami Tithi: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027
12 days in 2026 · 11 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi
Shukla Saptami is the 7th of the 30 tithis, the bright fortnight’s 7th. A panchang names a day by the tithi running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Shukla Saptami was the tithi at sunrise in New Delhi on 23 days: 12 in 2026 and 11 in 2027. Twice it began after one sunrise and ended before the next, so it named no day at all (between the sunrises of 22 May 2026 and 23 May 2026; 10 June 2027 and 11 June 2027), and once it held two sunrises in a row, naming two consecutive days (17 October 2026 and 18 October 2026).
Its number, 7, is among the tithis the muhurat filter favours, so on its 23 days the tithi is no obstacle. A list of the days a tithi held sunrise is not a list of vrat days: an observance tied to a tithi is fixed by its own rule, which the festival pages apply one by one.

By weekday, Shukla Saptami held sunrise most often on Sundays and Wednesdays (5 times) and least on Thursdays (1): Sunday 5, Monday 3, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 5, Thursday 1, Friday 3, Saturday 3. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the tithi run on unrelated cycles.
Festivals that fell on a Shukla Saptami day: Ratha Saptami (25 January 2026) and Ratha Saptami (13 February 2027).
In the cycle Shukla Saptami comes after Shukla Shashthi and before Shukla Ashtami; all 30 are on the tithi index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: शुक्ल सप्तमी तिथि.
