Hasta Nakshatra: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027
15 days in 2026 · 13 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi
Hasta is the 13th of the 27 nakshatras. A panchang names a day by the nakshatra running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Hasta was the nakshatra at sunrise in New Delhi on 28 days: 15 in 2026 and 13 in 2027. It never fell between two sunrises without holding one, and once it held two sunrises in a row, naming two consecutive days (26 May 2026 and 27 May 2026).
The muhurta texts put Hasta in the Kshipra (swift) group, which is the class the muhurat filter reads it by. Its own page, Hasta nakshatra, covers it as a birth star.

By weekday, Hasta held sunrise most often on Wednesdays and Fridays (5 times) and least on Sundays and Mondays (3): Sunday 3, Monday 3, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5, Thursday 4, Friday 5, Saturday 4. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the nakshatra run on unrelated cycles.
Festivals that fell on a Hasta day: Hanuman Jayanti (2 April 2026), Sarva Pitru Amavasya (10 October 2026), Dhanteras (6 November 2026), Ganga Dussehra (13 June 2027), Hartalika Teej (3 September 2027), Sharad Navratri begins (30 September 2027), Sarva Pitru Amavasya (30 September 2027) and Narak Chaturdashi (28 October 2027).
In the cycle Hasta comes after Uttara Phalguni and before Chitra; all 27 are on the nakshatra index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: हस्त नक्षत्र.
