Krishna Tritiya Tithi: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027
13 days in 2026 · 12 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi
Krishna Tritiya is the 18th of the 30 tithis, the dark fortnight’s 3rd. A panchang names a day by the tithi running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Krishna Tritiya was the tithi at sunrise in New Delhi on 25 days: 13 in 2026 and 12 in 2027. It never fell between two sunrises without holding one, and it never held two sunrises in a row.
Its number, 3, is among the tithis the muhurat filter favours, so on its 25 days the tithi is no obstacle. A list of the days a tithi held sunrise is not a list of vrat days: an observance tied to a tithi is fixed by its own rule, which the festival pages apply one by one.

By weekday, Krishna Tritiya held sunrise most often on Tuesdays and Fridays (5 times) and least on Thursdays and Saturdays (2): Sunday 3, Monday 4, Tuesday 5, Wednesday 4, Thursday 2, Friday 5, Saturday 2. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the tithi run on unrelated cycles.
Festivals that fell on a Krishna Tritiya day: Sakat Chauth (6 January 2026) and Sakat Chauth (25 January 2027).
In the cycle Krishna Tritiya comes after Krishna Dwitiya and before Krishna Chaturthi; all 30 are on the tithi index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: कृष्ण तृतीया तिथि.
