Shukla Dwitiya Tithi: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027
12 days in 2026 · 13 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi
Shukla Dwitiya is the 2nd of the 30 tithis, the bright fortnight’s 2nd. A panchang names a day by the tithi running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Shukla Dwitiya was the tithi at sunrise in New Delhi on 25 days: 12 in 2026 and 13 in 2027. It never fell between two sunrises without holding one, and it never held two sunrises in a row.
Its number, 2, is among the tithis the muhurat filter favours, so on its 25 days the tithi is no obstacle. A list of the days a tithi held sunrise is not a list of vrat days: an observance tied to a tithi is fixed by its own rule, which the festival pages apply one by one.

By weekday, Shukla Dwitiya held sunrise most often on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (4 times) and least on Saturdays (2): Sunday 4, Monday 4, Tuesday 3, Wednesday 4, Thursday 4, Friday 4, Saturday 2. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the tithi run on unrelated cycles.
Festivals that fell on a Shukla Dwitiya day: Akshaya Tritiya (19 April 2026), Jagannath Rath Yatra (16 July 2026), Bhai Dooj (11 November 2026), Akshaya Tritiya (8 May 2027), Jagannath Rath Yatra (5 July 2027), Hariyali Teej (4 August 2027) and Bhai Dooj (31 October 2027).
In the cycle Shukla Dwitiya comes after Shukla Pratipada and before Shukla Tritiya; all 30 are on the tithi index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: शुक्ल द्वितीया तिथि.
