Shukla Panchami Tithi: Every Day It Held Sunrise, 2026 and 2027
12 days in 2026 · 11 in 2027 · sunrise at New Delhi
Shukla Panchami is the 5th of the 30 tithis, the bright fortnight’s 5th. A panchang names a day by the tithi running at sunrise, and between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2027 Shukla Panchami was the tithi at sunrise in New Delhi on 23 days: 12 in 2026 and 11 in 2027. Once it began after one sunrise and ended before the next, so it named no day at all (between the sunrises of 10 May 2027 and 11 May 2027), and it never held two sunrises in a row.
Its number, 5, is among the tithis the muhurat filter favours, so on its 23 days the tithi is no obstacle. A list of the days a tithi held sunrise is not a list of vrat days: an observance tied to a tithi is fixed by its own rule, which the festival pages apply one by one.

By weekday, Shukla Panchami held sunrise most often on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (4 times) and least on Tuesdays (1): Sunday 3, Monday 4, Tuesday 1, Wednesday 4, Thursday 4, Friday 4, Saturday 3. Over two years that spread is chance, not a pattern; the weekday and the tithi run on unrelated cycles.
Festivals that fell on a Shukla Panchami day: Vasant Panchami (23 January 2026), Nag Panchami (17 August 2026), Vivah Panchami (14 December 2026), Vasant Panchami (11 February 2027), Nag Panchami (6 August 2027) and Vivah Panchami (3 December 2027).
In the cycle Shukla Panchami comes after Shukla Chaturthi and before Shukla Shashthi; all 30 are on the tithi index. For what the five limbs are and how a day’s panchang is read, see reading the panchang and the guide to choosing a day. This page in Hindi: शुक्ल पंचमी तिथि.
