Jupiter Retrograde, 2024 to 2031: Every Window
Jupiter orbits outside the Earth’s orbit. Its retrograde comes around opposition, when the Earth, moving faster on the inside track, overtakes it, and Jupiter appears to slide backwards against the stars until the angle changes. That is why a Jupiter retrograde happens with the Sun on the far side of the sky from it.
Between 2024 and 2031 the site computes 7 Jupiter retrogrades. Each lasts 118 to 123 days between its two stations and retraces 9.8° to 10.1° of the zodiac, and one begins every 395 to 398 days.
| Turns retrograde | Turns direct | Days | Signs | Arc |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 October 2024 | 4 February 2025 | 118 | Taurus | 10.1° |
| 11 November 2025 | 11 March 2026 | 119 | Cancer → Gemini | 10.1° |
| 13 December 2026 | 13 April 2027 | 121 | Leo → Cancer | 10.0° |
| 12 January 2028 | 14 May 2028 | 122 | Virgo → Leo | 10.0° |
| 10 February 2029 | 14 June 2029 | 123 | Libra → Virgo | 9.9° |
| 13 March 2030 | 15 July 2030 | 123 | Scorpio → Libra | 9.9° |
| 15 April 2031 | 16 August 2031 | 123 | Sagittarius → Scorpio | 9.8° |
The dates are days, not times. Stations from 2026 and 2027 are taken from the JPL DE421 table where the two disagree; outside those years the site’s own series stands, and a station falling near midnight can be dated a day apart by another source.
