The arc between them spans 4 padas, from Ashlesha pada 2 up to Magha pada 1, and Jupiter crosses every degree of it three times: forward before 13 December, backward until 13 April, and forward again afterwards. Jupiter is in a friend's sign in Leo and exalted in Cancer.
