Saturn in Revati Nakshatra (Shani in रेवती)

346°40′ – 360°00′ sidereal · Pisces · star of Mercury

Revati, the 27th of the 27 nakshatras, covers 346°40′ – 360°00′ of the sidereal zodiac, wholly inside Pisces. Revati is ruled by Mercury, so Saturn in Revati stands in Mercury’s star.

Saturn counts Mercury a friend, while Mercury counts Saturn neutral. The table is not symmetric, so Saturn in Revati has to be described from both sides, as it is here. The other two nakshatras Mercury rules, Ashlesha and Jyeshtha, put Saturn under the same star lord.

Revati 4Pisces 26°40′ – 30°00′in a neutral signPisces (vargottama) (gandanta)in a neutral sign

By rashi, Saturn is in a neutral sign in all four padas of Revati, because the whole nakshatra lies in Pisces. By navamsa the four padas fall in Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Saturn’s strongest navamsas in Revati are padas 2 (Capricorn, in its own sign) and 3 (Aquarius, in its own sign), and its weakest are padas 1 (Sagittarius, in a neutral sign) and 4 (Pisces, in a neutral sign).

Revati pada 4 is vargottama — Pisces in rashi and in navamsa — so Saturn there is in a neutral sign on both counts. Of the 108 padas only twelve are vargottama, one for each sign.

Revati pada 4 (Pisces 26°40′ – 30°00′) is gandanta: one of the six padas on the junction of a water sign and the fire sign after it, and Saturn placed in that quarter of Revati sits on the junction itself.

Neither Saturn’s deepest exaltation (Libra) nor its deepest debilitation (Aries) degree falls inside Revati, and Saturn’s moolatrikona lies outside it as well, so in Revati the rashi and navamsa verdicts above are the whole of Saturn’s dignity.

When Saturn Is in Revati, 2026–2028

  • 17 May 2026: Saturn enters Revati, and leaves on 9 October 2026 moving backwards — 145 days.
  • 8 February 2027: Saturn enters Revati, and leaves on 3 June 2027 — 115 days.
  • 20 October 2027: Saturn enters Revati while retrograde, backing in from the next nakshatra, and leaves on 23 February 2028 — 126 days.

Those are the three spells Saturn spends in Revati between 1 January 2026 and 1 January 2029, 386 days in all. Over the same span Saturn stands in 5 of the 27 nakshatras. The dates are days only; for Saturn in Revati a minute would be more precise than the ayanamsa behind it.

Inside Revati: what the tables locate there for Saturn

Of the eight complete spells Saturn has in the table, in any nakshatra, the shortest is 114 days and the longest 145, and that longest spell is the one in Revati.

  • 7 April 2027: Saturn meets the Sun at 23° Pisces, in Revati pada 3.
  • 19 April 2027: Saturn meets Mercury at 24° Pisces, in Revati pada 3.
  • 8 May 2027: Saturn meets Venus at 27° Pisces, in Revati pada 4.

The retrograde table runs from 2024 to 2031, wider than the ingress table, and it places two of Saturn's stations in Revati. On 27 July 2026 Saturn stations retrograde inside Revati, in pada 2. On 24 December 2027 Saturn stations direct inside Revati, in pada 4. At a station Saturn’s motion is at its slowest, so these are the days it is most nearly still in Revati.

Revati as the Setting for Saturn

In the nakshatra tables Revati’s deity is listed as Pushan and its symbol as fish; its gana is Deva, and the muhurta texts put it in the Mridu class (tender). Those belong to Revati whichever graha is in it, and they are read on the Revati page. What changes with Saturn is everything above: the dignities in Pisces, the relation to Mercury, and the dates. None of it is a prediction for anyone born with Saturn in Revati; the house it occupies and the dasha running decide what the placement does in a chart.
