When Saturn Is Strong

A strong Saturn is the most reliable indicator of achievement in a chart, and the least pleasant to live through. It gives endurance, the willingness to do unglamorous work for years without recognition, and an unusual honesty about how long things actually take. Exalted in Libra it produces the judge — someone whose fairness is trusted precisely because it is not warm. Saturn's gifts arrive late and do not leave: position earned under Saturn is rarely lost. It rules longevity, so a strong Saturn in a strong chart is the single best marker of a long life.

When Saturn Is Weak or Afflicted

An afflicted Saturn is delay without the compensating strength. Effort produces less than it should, recognition goes to others, and the native carries a chronic sense of being behind. It shows physically in the bones, teeth, joints and knees, in chronic rather than acute illness, and in the skin.
