Gemini Rashifal February 2027 (Mithuna Rashi): Your Ruler Reverses Between the Eighth and Ninth
Published 2026-08-20 | Live Pandit Ji
Every sign gets a Mercury retrograde this month. Mithuna Rashi gets it as a chapter about its own ruler, which is a different reading. Mercury governs Gemini, and in February it stations, reverses across a sign boundary, and only turns direct in the first week of March — so the planet that runs your chart spends most of the month walking backwards through your eighth and ninth houses.
The reversal begins at 11:05 pm on Tuesday 9 February, at 11°45′ of Aquarius. What makes that instant worth a paragraph is what happens in the same minute. At 11:05 pm the Sun crosses Rahu exactly, at 26°30′ of Capricorn — your eighth house. Two unrelated events, inside the same minute, and both of them Rahu-flavoured: Mercury stations inside Shatabhisha, which is Rahu’s own nakshatra.
Where Your Ruler Actually Goes
Follow it by house rather than by mood, because the route is specific. Mercury begins February at 5°25′ of Aquarius, in your ninth house of teachers, travel, law and belief. It slows, stations on the 9th, and then retreats — crossing back out of Aquarius into Capricorn at 4:46 am on Wednesday 24 February, which returns it to your eighth house. It turns direct there on 3 March at 6:02 pm, at 26°41′ of Capricorn, and re-enters Aquarius and your ninth house on 12 March at 5:00 am.
So your ruler crosses the eighth-to-ninth boundary three times in five weeks: forwards in late January, backwards on 24 February, forwards again on 12 March. For a sign as dependent on Mercury as yours, that is the month in one line. Nothing is lost; things are revisited. The eighth house is where the revisiting is uncomfortable — insurance, loans, tax, inheritance, a joint account, an old liability — and the ninth is where it is productive, because a course, a teacher or a journey benefits from being reconsidered.
The practical rule for Mithuna Rashi is unusually simple this month. Between the 9th and 3 March, prefer the second version of everything. Re-read the contract, re-check the tax filing, call back the teacher you already know, take the route you have taken before. Where you must originate something, do it in the first week of February or the second week of March.
Saturn Sits in a Nakshatra Your Ruler Owns
There is a second Mercury thread, and it is a subtler one. Saturn is in Pisces all month, which is the tenth house from Gemini, and it advances from 16°01′ to 18°49′. On Monday 8 February it passes 16°40′ and enters Revati, the twenty-seventh and final nakshatra of the zodiac — and Revati’s lord is Mercury.
Which means that for the rest of February your career-house Saturn is being dispositor-ruled by a planet that is retrograde. Read practically: work commitments made this month are slow to move and dependent on communication that keeps having to be repeated. That is not an argument for doing nothing. It is an argument for over-documenting, and for expecting the approval to come through in March rather than February.
One reassurance about the tenth-house Saturn itself. Counting from the natal Moon, Saturn’s difficult positions are the twelfth, first and second — the three phases of Sade Sati — plus the eighth, called Ardha Ashtama Shani, and the fourth, called Kantaka Shani. Its three favourable houses are the third, sixth and eleventh. The tenth is on neither list, which is worth stating plainly: Mithuna Rashi is not under any of the named Saturn afflictions in 2027, and will not be until Saturn is much further along.
Exalted Jupiter in Your Second House, with Ketu
Cancer is the second house from Gemini, and Jupiter is exalted in it for the whole month, retrograde, sliding from 29°09′ to 25°32′. The second house is money held rather than money earned, and it is also speech and family resources. An exalted Jupiter there is the best support this house gets for over a decade: Jupiter holds Cancer until 26 June 2027, and does not return to it until 2038.
Ketu is in the same house, closing from 26°59′ to 25°30′, and the two converge all month, meeting exactly on 1 March at 25°27′ of Cancer. Both sit in Ashlesha — which, like Revati, is a Mercury-ruled nakshatra. So three of the month’s major placements are dispositor-ruled by your own retrograde ruler. Mithuna Rashi has a coherent February: everything routes through Mercury, and Mercury is going backwards.
A note on the exaltation, since it is often overstated. Jupiter’s deepest exaltation degree is 5° of Cancer, and the lowest point it reaches in this whole visit is 22°45′, at its direct station on 13 April 2027. It never comes within seventeen degrees of its strongest position. The second-house support is real and it is not the maximum version.
A Full Moon on Retrograde Mars in Your Third
Mars is retrograde in Leo — your third house — every day of February, retreating from 13°06′ to 3°11′ of the sign, the entire slide taking place inside Magha nakshatra. Then the Full Moon lands on it: at 4:53 am on Sunday 21 February, at 7°51′ of Leo, 1°51′ from Mars.
The third house is siblings, juniors, short journeys and your own communication — the house Gemini is most identified with. A retrograde Mars there produces the argument that restarts, the journey that gets rescheduled, and the message that is read as sharper than it was meant. With a Full Moon 1°51′ away on the 21st, that is the date to be careful what you send. Magha’s deities are the Pitrs, the ancestors, and its lord Ketu is sitting in your second house; where the texts prescribe anything for Magha it is remembrance rather than initiative, and the Pitra Dosh observances suit the day better than anything new.
Dates Worth Marking
- The New Moon forms in your eighth house at 23°24′ of Capricorn, Dhanishta pada 1, at 9:26 pm on Saturday the 6th — three degrees short of Rahu in the same quarter of the same nakshatra.
- Saturn crosses into Revati, the last nakshatra of the zodiac, in your tenth house on Monday the 8th.
- Your ruler turns retrograde in your ninth house at 11:05 pm on Tuesday the 9th, and the Sun crosses Rahu in your eighth in the same minute, at 11:05 pm.
- The Sun leaves your eighth house for your ninth at the Kumbha Sankranti ingress, 10:04 am on Saturday the 13th.
- The Sun meets your retrograde ruler at 5°34′ of Aquarius, in your ninth house, at 10:09 pm on Thursday the 18th.
- The Full Moon fills your third house at 7°51′ of Leo, 1°51′ from retrograde Mars, at 4:53 am on Sunday the 21st.
- Mercury reverses back into your eighth house at 4:46 am on Wednesday the 24th, and Venus enters the same house forwards at 3:11 pm the same day.
- Your ruler turns direct at 26°41′ of Capricorn at 6:02 pm on Wednesday 3 March, and returns to your ninth house on 12 March at 5:00 am.
Week by Week
1–7 February
Nine days of forward-moving Mercury, and the only stretch this month that suits origination. Whatever you were going to start — the application, the filing, the enquiry — start it here. The New Moon of Saturday the 6th falls in your eighth house, which makes it a better date for settling an account than for opening one. Saturn moves into Revati early on Monday the 8th.
8–14 February
The turn of the month, on Tuesday the 9th, at five minutes past eleven at night. From that point the instruction is to revisit rather than to launch. The Sun changes house on Saturday the 13th at 10:04 am, leaving your eighth for your ninth, which lightens the tone considerably — the eighth-house fortnight, with Rahu and the New Moon in it, is the heavier half of the month.
15–21 February
The Sun and your retrograde ruler are together in your ninth house and meet exactly on Thursday the 18th at 10:09 pm. That is the best week of the month for reopening something educational or legal that was left unfinished — a re-application, a resubmission, a second conversation with a teacher or an advocate. It closes with the Full Moon on your retrograde Mars on Sunday the 21st.
22–28 February
Wednesday the 24th is the day of two arrivals in your eighth house: Mercury reversing in at 4:46 am and Venus walking in at 3:11 pm. Venus there eases dealings about shared money — a settlement conversation, a family financial decision — and it is the better of the two. Hold the signature until after 3 March.
Money, Work and the Eighth House
The eighth house takes most of the month’s traffic: Rahu throughout, the Sun to the 13th with its exact crossing of Rahu on the 9th, the New Moon on the 6th, and then Mercury and Venus together from the 24th. That is a lot of attention on money that is not entirely yours — loans, tax, insurance, inheritance, a partner’s income, a shared liability. None of it is inherently bad; the eighth house rewards being methodical and punishes being casual.
Set against it, an exalted Jupiter in the second house is the counterweight, and it is a strong one. What that combination usually looks like in practice is a liability being restructured rather than paid off — the shape of the debt improving while the amount stays similar. On work, the tenth-house Saturn under a retrograde Mercury means approvals move in March. Do the work in February and expect the confirmation later.
Relationships and Family
Venus holds your seventh house — Sagittarius — until 3:11 pm on the 24th, which is the friendliest thing in the chart this month for a partnership. Use it. A conversation that needs goodwill in the room has better conditions before the 24th than after it, and the first fortnight is better than the second because Mercury is still direct.
Family shows up through the second house, where exalted Jupiter and Ketu sit together, and through the third, where the retrograde Mars is. The second-house pairing tends to read as generosity from the family alongside a certain detachment from what is being given — Ketu’s signature. The third-house Mars is the one to manage: sibling friction, and words that land harder than intended, particularly around the Full Moon of the 21st.
Health
Gemini’s ordinary health question is nervous load rather than anything structural, and a retrograde ruler for three weeks is precisely a nervous-load month: too many open threads, each of them needing a second pass. The remedy is administrative, not medicinal — close threads rather than adding them. On exercise, the general rule for a retrograde Mars applies here as everywhere: hold the volume steady until Mars turns direct on 1 April 2027 rather than pushing it.
Remedies for Mithuna Rashi in February 2027
The conditions to work with are a retrograde ruler crossing between the eighth and ninth houses, an exalted Jupiter with Ketu in the second, a retrograde Mars carrying a Full Moon in the third, and a tenth-house Saturn dispositor-ruled by that same retrograde Mercury.
- Wednesday observance for Budh — 3, 10, 17 and 24 February: Wednesday is Mercury’s own weekday and your ruler is retrograde from the 9th. Green moong, a green cloth, and something written given rather than sold — a book, a note, a piece of teaching. The 24th is the Wednesday your ruler changes house, and the 3rd of March, when it turns direct, is also a Wednesday.
- Prefer the second version of everything from the 9th to 3 March: the whole reading compressed into an instruction. Re-read, re-check, re-approach. What is originated in that window generally has to be done again anyway.
- Guru worship on the Thursdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 February: Jupiter is exalted in your second house of resources and speech until 26 June 2027 and does not return until 2038. Turmeric, chana dal, and a yellow cloth kept with the family’s savings rather than given away, because the second house is what is held. The weak-Jupiter remedies page has the fuller set.
- Hanuman worship on the Tuesdays — 2, 9, 16 and 23 February: for a Mars that is retrograde in your third house all month with a Full Moon landing on it. Sindoor, a chola offering and the Hanuman Chalisa; see the Mangal remedies and Tuesday fasting.
- Send nothing sharp on the 21st: the practical form of a Full Moon 1°51′ from a retrograde Mars in your house of communication. Draft it, keep it, send it on the 23rd.
- Saturday observance for Shani — 6, 13, 20 and 27 February: Saturn is in your tenth house and under none of the classical afflictions, so this is maintenance rather than repair. Sesame oil, black til and a peepal lamp after sundown; the forms are on our Shani page.
- Over-document the work commitments: a tenth-house Saturn in a Mercury-ruled nakshatra while Mercury is retrograde is the specific configuration where a verbal understanding is not enough. Put it in writing in February; expect the approval in March.
- Ketu observance, all month: Ketu is in your second house with exalted Jupiter, closing to the same degree by 1 March. Black til, a grey cloth given away, a dog fed at your door; the weak-Ketu remedies cover it.
In Summary
For Mithuna Rashi, February 2027 is a month about its own ruler. Mercury turns retrograde at 11°45′ of Aquarius in your ninth house at 11:05 pm on Tuesday 9 February — in the same minute as the Sun crossing Rahu in your eighth — reverses back into your eighth house at 4:46 am on Wednesday the 24th, turns direct at 26°41′ of Capricorn on 3 March, and only regains your ninth house on 12 March. Three crossings of the same boundary in five weeks.
Two other placements route through the same planet. Saturn, in your tenth house, enters Revati on Monday the 8th, and Revati is Mercury-ruled. Exalted Jupiter and Ketu, in your second house, spend the month in Ashlesha, which is also Mercury-ruled. So the month has one instruction rather than several: revisit rather than originate, and expect the confirmations in March.
The rest of the chart: your eighth house takes the New Moon of 9:26 pm on Saturday the 6th, Rahu, the Sun to the 13th, and then both Mercury and Venus from the 24th, which puts shared money at the centre of the month; and your third house holds a retrograde Mars with a Full Moon 1°51′ from it at 4:53 am on Sunday the 21st, which is the date to hold your tongue on.
None of this is felt uniformly across the sign, because your natal Moon’s pada decides how much of a Mercury retrograde actually reaches you — a Moon in Mrigashira answers to Mars, one in Ardra to Rahu, one in Punarvasu to Jupiter, and the three read a retrograde ruler differently. What Mithuna Rashi decides and what the pada decides works through that layer, the Mercury mahadasha guide is worth reading if yours is running, and January’s reading traces how Mercury got to Aquarius in the first place.
Is your Mercury dasha running?
A retrograde ruler matters far more when the Mercury mahadasha or antardasha is active in your chart. That is a calculation from your birth details, not from your rashi.
