Cancer Rashifal March 2027 (Karka Rashi): Three Bodies on Your Own Rashi

Published 2026-08-21 | Live Pandit Ji

No other sign has a March like this one. By the second week of the month, Karka Rashi itself — your own first house — holds three bodies: Jupiter exalted and retrograde, Ketu, and a Mars that is both retrograde and debilitated. And they are not spread across the sign. All three spend the second half of March between roughly 23° and 27° of Cancer, inside a single nakshatra, Ashlesha.

Four degrees of sky, three bodies, one of them at the strongest it can be and one of them at the weakest. That is the month. Everything else — the seventh house, the two lunations, the closures — arranges itself around it.

1 March: Jupiter and Ketu Are Exact on Your Rashi

The conjunction that had been closing through February lands on the second day of March. On Monday 1 March, Jupiter and Ketu meet exactly at 25°27′ of Cancer, in Ashlesha pada 3.

Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, which for Karka Rashi means the most benevolent planet in the system is sitting on your own sign at full strength — a placement it holds only until 26 June 2027 and does not repeat until the late 2030s. Ketu in the first house is the opposite temperament: detachment, a loosening of interest in the very thing that is going well, and a tendency to give away or walk away from what has just been offered.

The classical name for this pairing is Guru-Chandal, and it is worth being plain about what it does and does not mean. It does not cancel the exaltation. It complicates how you receive it: good advice arrives and is not taken, an opportunity opens and does not feel important, a teacher offers something and you find a reason it is not for you. The remedy is not effort, it is acceptance — and the observance most often prescribed for it is on our Ketu page, alongside the Guru observances below.

10 March: Mars Reverses Onto Your Rashi, Debilitated

At 12:30 am on Wednesday 10 March, retrograde Mars leaves Leo and comes back into Cancer, reversing into Ashlesha. Cancer is the one sign in which Mars is debilitated, and Mars arrives here travelling backwards.

Mars in the first house is normally read as drive, heat and a short fuse. Debilitated and retrograde, it reads differently: energy that will not convert into action, irritation without a target, and a physical restlessness that produces nothing. It descends from 30° on the 10th to 26°41′ by the 31st and then all but stops — Mars turns direct at 7:42 pm on 1 April 2027 at that exact degree, which means the last week of March is spent standing still.

For Karka Rashi the practical instruction is unusually clear. Do not push in the second half of March. What you force will need re-doing in April, because both Mars and Jupiter are still retrograde and neither has recovered its direction — Jupiter turns direct at 7:58 am on 13 April at 22°45′ of Cancer. The month rewards holding a position, not taking one.

Your Seventh House Has Rahu in It, and Two Planets Cross

The other half of the axis matters just as much. Capricorn is the seventh from Cancer, and Rahu sits there all month, moving from 25°30′ to 23°51′ of Dhanishta — directly opposite Ketu on your rashi. Two things cross it.

First, Mercury turns direct at 6:02 pm on Wednesday 3 March at 26°41′ of Capricorn — a station a degree from Rahu, in your seventh house. That ends the retrograde that ran from 11:05 pm on 9 February, and for a Cancer it is specifically about a partner, a spouse or a business counterparty finally saying what they meant. Mercury leaves for your eighth on the 12th.

Second, and more pointedly, Venus meets Rahu exactly at 7:23 am on Wednesday 17 March at 24°38′ of Capricorn. Venus over Rahu in the seventh house is the classical signature of an attraction, an alliance or a proposal that is more appealing than it is sound. Venus leaves for your eighth on the 21st. If a decision about a partnership — personal or commercial — can wait past the 21st, it should.

Read the two halves together and the month has a shape: a self that cannot act (three bodies on the rashi, two retrograde, the ruler of drive debilitated) facing a partnership axis carrying the north node. That combination argues for listening rather than negotiating.

Your Chandra Days: 17 to 20 March

The Moon rules Karka Rashi, so unlike every other sign your ruling planet returns to your own sign every month rather than transiting it once every year or twelve. In March 2027 the Moon is on Cancer from 11:32 pm on Wednesday 17 March until 1:31 am on Saturday 20 March — a little over two days.

Those are the days your own ruler joins the crowd already standing on your sign, and they fall inside Holashtak, which is worth knowing before you plan anything around them. They are good days for the things the Moon actually governs — the mother, the home, water, food, rest and a settled mind — and poor days for confrontation, since the Moon there amplifies whatever the other three bodies are already doing.

A New Moon in Your Eighth and a Full Moon in Your Third

The New Moon forms at 2:59 pm on Monday 8 March at 23°18′ of Aquarius, in Purva Bhadrapada. Aquarius is your eighth house, which makes this the month’s quietest lunation rather than its most useful: an eighth-house New Moon starts something concerning insurance, a loan, a joint account, a tax matter or a piece of research, not something public. Mercury arrives in the same house on the 12th and Venus on the 21st, so the eighth-house business runs through the whole second half.

The Full Moon comes at 4:13 pm on Monday 22 March at 7°18′ of Virgo, in Uttara Phalguni. This is the Phalguna Purnima that Holi is counted from, and Virgo is your third house — siblings, neighbours, short journeys and the written word. It is the month’s sociable date, and the third house is a mild, workable place for a Full Moon: a conversation with a brother or sister reaches its point, or something you have written gets read.

The Sun, Saturn and a Closed Second Half

At 6:55 am on Monday 15 March the Sun leaves your eighth house and enters Pisces, your ninth, at the Meena Sankranti. That is a genuine improvement — the ninth house is the Sun’s better placement of the two, and it joins Saturn, which holds Pisces all month at 18°49′ rising to 22°33′ in Revati.

Saturn in the ninth from Karka Rashi is a slow, sober transit rather than a difficult one: duty toward a father or a teacher, and faith held by discipline rather than by feeling. It ends on 3 June 2027, when Saturn enters Aries — your tenth house — and the weight moves to work. Nothing about Saturn is urgent in March; this is the easier of the two placements and it has eleven weeks left.

The same Sankranti begins Meena Kharmas, which runs to 14 April 2027 and closes weddings, house-warmings and other beginnings for the whole stretch. Holashtak runs 14 to 21 March and ends at Holika Dahan on Sunday 21 March 2027. So the last seventeen days of March are shut by the calendar, irrespective of anything in your chart — and given that a debilitated retrograde Mars sits on your rashi across exactly that stretch, the two constraints happen to agree. Our March 2027 marriage muhurat page gives the day-by-day count.

The Month’s Fixed Points

  • Monday 1 March — Jupiter and Ketu are exact at 25°27′ of Cancer, on your rashi.
  • Wednesday 3 March, 6:02 pm — Mercury turns direct at 26°41′ of Capricorn, in your seventh house, a degree from Rahu.
  • Monday 8 March, 2:59 pm — the New Moon forms in your eighth house at 23°18′ of Aquarius.
  • Wednesday 10 March, 12:30 am — retrograde Mars reverses onto Karka Rashi, debilitated. The third body arrives.
  • Friday 12 March, 5:00 am — Mercury leaves your seventh house for your eighth.
  • Sunday 14 March — Holashtak begins, running to Holika Dahan on Sunday 21 March 2027.
  • Monday 15 March, 6:55 am — the Sun enters your ninth house and joins Saturn. Meena Kharmas begins, to 14 April.
  • Wednesday 17 March, 7:23 am — Venus meets Rahu exactly at 24°38′ of Capricorn, in your seventh house.
  • 17 March 11:32 pm to 20 March 1:31 am — the Moon, your ruling planet, is on your own rashi. Just over two days.
  • Sunday 21 March, 6:47 pm — Venus leaves your seventh house. A partnership decision is clearer from here.
  • Monday 22 March, 4:13 pm — the Full Moon fills your third house at 7°18′ of Virgo, on Holi’s Purnima.
  • Thursday 1 April, 7:42 pm — Mars turns direct at 26°41′ of Cancer, on your rashi, ending the standstill.
  • 13 April 2027, 7:58 am — Jupiter turns direct at 22°45′ of Cancer. Your exalted support starts moving forwards again.

Week by Week

Thirty-one days, Monday to Wednesday. Five Mondays — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 March — and the Moon rules your sign, which makes Monday the natural day of the week for Karka Rashi to keep an observance.

1–7 March

The week the two conjunctions bracket. Jupiter meets Ketu on your rashi on Monday the 1st; Mercury turns direct in your seventh at 6:02 pm on Wednesday the 3rd. Between them, this is the week a partner or a counterparty becomes legible again after three weeks of not being. Mars is still in your second house and still retrograde, so money spoken about is money not yet moved.

8–14 March

The New Moon lands quietly in your eighth house at 2:59 pm on Monday the 8th. Then the week’s real event: at 12:30 am on Wednesday the 10th, Mars reverses onto your rashi and the three-body configuration is complete. Mercury moves to your eighth on Friday the 12th. Saturday the 13th is the last clear day before Holashtak — if something must be begun in March, that is the deadline.

15–21 March

The most eventful week and the one to be most passive in. Kharmas opens with the Sun’s entry into your ninth at 6:55 am on Monday the 15th. Venus crosses Rahu in your seventh at 7:23 am on Wednesday the 17th. The Moon reaches your own rashi at 11:32 pm that same night and stays until Saturday the 20th. Holika Dahan is Sunday the 21st, and Venus changes house that evening. A great deal happens; none of it wants a signature.

22–31 March

The Full Moon fills your third house at 4:13 pm on Monday the 22nd, which makes the week after Holi the one for siblings, neighbours and short trips. Then the month runs down: Kharmas continues, and Mars slows to a standstill at 26°41′ of Cancer, the degree where it turns direct on 1 April. Ten days of very little forward motion on your own rashi. Rest is the correct use of them.

Career and Money for Karka Rashi

Your tenth house — Aries — is empty all month, which is the honest reading: nothing is pressing on your career from outside. That leaves the initiative with you, and the initiative is precisely what a debilitated retrograde Mars on your first house takes away. The reasonable conclusion is that March is not a career month for Cancer, and trying to make it one works against three separate transits.

Money divides. Your second house holds Mars only until the 10th, after which your own earnings are unobstructed. The eighth house — other people’s money, loans, joint funds, insurance — is where the month’s activity is: a New Moon on the 8th, Mercury from the 12th, Venus from the 21st. So the money story of March is a shared or borrowed one, and it is a story of documents rather than of income. With Mercury direct from the 3rd, the documents will at least be readable. The financial remedies page covers the standing observances.

Marriage, Partnership and Family

This is the department the month actually concerns. Your seventh house carries Rahu for the whole of it, with Mercury stationing beside the node on the 3rd and Venus meeting it exactly on the 17th. Rahu in the seventh is classically read as a partner idealised or misread rather than as a partner lost — the risk is in your picture of them, not in them.

Put alongside Ketu on your own rashi, the axis says something specific: a tendency to detach from your own position while over-investing in theirs. If a marriage conversation, an alliance or a business partnership is live, the good dates are after the 21st, when Venus has left the seventh, and the good posture is to state your own terms plainly, which is the one thing a first-house Ketu makes hard. If a marriage is being arranged, the calendar decides for you anyway: Kharmas closes 15 March to 14 April, so the open days are all in the first fortnight, and our page on marriage delay covers the standing remedies.

The fourth house is empty, so home and the mother are untroubled by transit this month — and the two days the Moon is on your rashi, 17 to 20 March, are the natural ones to spend there.

Health

The first house governs the body itself, and it has three bodies in it, one of which is debilitated. That is the month’s clearest health signal and it is a signal about depletion, not disease: Mars debilitated and retrograde on the rashi is low usable energy, inflammation that flares without cause, and a tendency to injure yourself doing something you have done safely a hundred times.

The two mitigations are real. Exalted Jupiter on the same rashi is the best constitutional support the transit calendar offers, and your sixth house — Sagittarius — is empty all month. So the reading is fatigue rather than illness. Reduce load in the second half rather than adding to it, keep meals regular because Ashlesha is a Mercury-ruled nakshatra associated with the digestion, and do not start a new physical regime between the 10th and 1 April. Ashlesha’s symbol is the coiled serpent and the classical caution attached to it is against the grip that tightens; applied to health, that reads as not straining against a body that is asking for rest.

Remedies for Karka Rashi in March 2027

Four conditions, all of them on the first-seventh axis: Jupiter with Ketu on the rashi, a debilitated retrograde Mars joining them, Rahu in the seventh house crossed twice, and Saturn in the ninth with eleven weeks left there.

  • Monday observance for the Moon — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 March: the Moon rules Karka Rashi and Monday is your day. Water offered at a Shiva lingam, rice and white cloth, and something cooling given rather than eaten. Monday fasting covers the usual form. The 15th and 22nd are the two that fall closest to the month’s heavier dates.
  • Guru worship on the Thursdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 March: Jupiter is exalted on your own rashi and this is the strongest thing in your chart, but it is retrograde and paired with Ketu, which is exactly the case Guru worship is for. Turmeric, chana dal, yellow cloth, and advice actually taken from someone older. See weak-Jupiter remedies and Thursday fasting.
  • Ketu observance in the first week: the conjunction was exact on 1 March, on your rashi. Black til, a grey or multicoloured cloth given away, and a dog fed at your own door. The forms are on the weak-Ketu page, and both nodes are covered on our Rahu-Ketu page.
  • Hanuman worship on the Tuesdays — 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 March: Mars is retrograde all month and debilitated on your rashi from the 10th, which is the weakest position it takes in this cycle. Keep the 9th above all, the night it changes sign. See the Mangal remedies page and Tuesday fasting; our Mangal dosh page covers the natal case.
  • Rahu observance around the 17th: the node in your seventh house is contacted by Mercury on the 3rd and by Venus on the 17th. Urad dal, a dark cloth given away, mustard oil offered on a Saturday. See the weak-Rahu page.
  • Hold the partnership decision past the 21st: the practical use of the reading. Venus leaves your seventh house at 6:47 pm on Sunday 21 March; a judgement made after that is made without the node’s magnification.
  • Do not start anything physical between the 10th and 1 April: not caution for its own sake. Mars is debilitated, retrograde and effectively stationary on your own rashi across that whole stretch.
  • Use 17–20 March for rest rather than for arguments: the Moon is on your rashi and it amplifies whatever the other three bodies are already doing.

In Summary

For Karka Rashi, March 2027 is a month lived on your own rashi. Jupiter is exalted there and retrograde; Ketu is there, and the two were exact on Monday 1 March at 25°27′ of Cancer; and at 12:30 am on Wednesday 10 March a retrograde, debilitated Mars reverses in to join them. All three sit inside Ashlesha, within about four degrees of each other, for the whole second half of the month. The best planet in the system is on your sign at full strength and the planet of action is on it at its weakest, and both are moving backwards.

The opposite house carries the north node. Mercury turned direct beside Rahu in your seventh at 6:02 pm on Wednesday the 3rd, and Venus met Rahu exactly there at 7:23 am on Wednesday the 17th before leaving on the 21st. That axis is what the month is about — a self that cannot easily act, facing a partnership that is easy to over-read. The instruction that falls out of it is to listen, to state your own terms plainly, and to decide after the 21st.

The dated furniture: a quiet eighth-house New Moon at 2:59 pm on Monday the 8th; the Sun into your ninth with Saturn at 6:55 am on Monday the 15th, which also opens Meena Kharmas to 14 April; Holashtak 14 to 21 March with Holika Dahan on Sunday the 21st; the Moon on your own rashi from 11:32 pm on the 17th to 1:31 am on the 20th; and a third-house Full Moon at 4:13 pm on Monday the 22nd on Holi’s Purnima. Mars turns direct at 7:42 pm on 1 April and Jupiter at 7:58 am on 13 April — those two dates, not anything in March, are when the pressure releases.

One caveat, and it matters more for Cancer this month than for most signs. Three bodies on the rashi affect a chart very unevenly depending on which of the nine Cancer padas holds your natal Moon and how close it sits to 23–27° — a Moon in Ashlesha is inside this configuration, and a Moon in Pushya or Punarvasu is watching it from a distance. For the background, read February’s reading, what Karka Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and the March 2027 marriage muhurat count if a date is being fixed.

Whether you are inside this configuration depends on your pada

A natal Moon in Ashlesha sits in the middle of the three bodies. One in Pushya or Punarvasu does not. That difference is the whole reading, and it needs a birth chart.
