Cancer Rashifal October 2027 (Karka Rashi): Diwali’s New Moon Forms in Your Fourth House of Home, and Ketu Sits on Your Rashi All Month
Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji
Libra is your fourth house, and in October 2027 it is the busiest house in the sky. Five of the nine bodies pass through it, both of the month’s exact conjunctions happen inside it, and the New Moon of Diwali forms there at 7:06 pm on Friday 29 October, at 11°42′ of Libra, in Swati pada 2.
That matters more for Karka than for any other rashi, for a structural reason. The fourth house is the house of home, mother and the roof over your head, and it is governed by the Moon — the same Moon that rules your sign. So the festival of the lit house arrives with the darkest lunar instant of the month falling in your house of the house, in a month when your fourth house has already been handled by five bodies in turn.
The second standing fact of the month is on your rashi itself. Ketu occupies Karka for all thirty-one days, drifting backwards from 14°09′ to 12°31′ — from Pushya pada 4 into pada 3 — while Rahu sits opposite in your seventh house. Any planet you look at this month is somewhere on that axis.
Five Bodies Through Your House of Home
Take them in order. Mars is in your fourth house until 1:21 am on Friday 8 October. Venus arrives at 6:20 pm on Sunday 3 October, and because Libra is a sign Venus owns, it steps out of the debilitation it carried through September in the same instant — then holds your fourth house until 9:53 pm on Wednesday 27 October. Mercury is there from the first day, turns retrograde at 8:06 pm on Thursday 7 October, and reverses out on the 21st. The Sun arrives debilitated at 2:03 am on Monday 18 October with Tula Sankranti. The Moon crosses twice.
Then the two exact conjunctions, both inside that house. Mercury and Venus are exact at 9°46′ of Libra at 3:02 pm on Monday 11 October. The Sun and Mercury are exact at 1°47′ of Libra at 9:00 pm on Tuesday 19 October.
Read plainly, October is a month about the house you live in and the people inside it. Venus in its own sign there for most of the month is the good half: comfort, beautification, a purchase for the home, a warmer relationship with your mother. The debilitated Sun from the 18th is the cost, and it reads as someone’s authority inside the household being asserted badly rather than confidently. See our page on strengthening a weak Moon and our Monday fasting page.
Ketu on Your Rashi, and the Moon Passing Over It on the Twenty-Third
The Moon holds Karka from 2:42 pm on Friday 22 October to 5:41 pm on Sunday 24 October — fifty hours fifty-nine minutes, one of October’s three shortest stays in a month whose longest runs nearly sixty-one hours. Inside that window the Moon passes over the degree Ketu occupies, on Saturday the 23rd.
We publish that as a day and not a clock time on purpose. A sign ingress is a crossing of a fixed boundary and can be timed to the minute; a crossing of another body’s degree in the middle of a sign depends on both positions and on the ayanamsa, so the honest unit is the day. What it means is simple enough: for a few hours on the 23rd the Moon that rules your sign stands on the shadow point sitting on your sign, and Karka natives usually feel that as detachment, a flat mood, or the sudden wish to be left alone.
Ketu on the rashi over a longer arc is not a misfortune. It removes attachment to the identity you had been maintaining, and it tends to do that by making the thing you were holding onto feel uninteresting rather than by taking it away. With Rahu opposite in your seventh house, the pull comes from other people all month — their ambitions look more vivid than your own. See our Rahu-Ketu remedies page and Ketu remedies.
Saturn Leaves Your Career House and Its Debilitation on the Same Day
Aries is your tenth house, and Saturn has been sitting there debilitated. On 20 October it retrogrades out of Aries into Pisces, your ninth house — ending its fall and leaving your career house in one move.
We give that as a day, not a minute. At the boundary Saturn is moving at 0.079° a day, which is roughly two and a half minutes of arc in twenty-four hours; at that speed the exact instant depends on which ayanamsa value you use, so a published clock time would be false precision. The day is solid.
For Karka the effect is a genuine easing of professional pressure. A debilitated Saturn in the tenth is the classic signature of work that feels heavy and unrewarded; from the 20th the weight moves into the ninth house of father, teacher, dharma and long journeys, where Saturn is dignified and asks for discipline rather than endurance. The Full Moon of 15 October had already formed in that same ninth house, at 27°42′ of Pisces in Revati pada 4 — and Saturn reverses into that same pada five days later. Whatever the Full Moon showed you about a teacher, a father or a belief is what Saturn then settles into.
Your Third House Ends the Month Exalted
Virgo is your third house of siblings, courage, short journeys and hands-on skill, and it has the month’s quiet win. Retrograde Mercury reverses back into Virgo at 8:16 am on Thursday 21 October, where it is exalted, and turns direct there at 7:40 pm on Thursday 28 October — still exalted. Both instants are published to the minute because a station is intrinsic to the geometry rather than a matter of convention.
Before that, your third house holds a debilitated Venus until the 3rd and the Sun until the 18th, so the first half of the month is the weaker half for anything involving a sibling, a document or a short trip. The last ten days are the strong half, with an exalted Mercury there and direct from the evening of the 28th.
Jupiter meanwhile spends all thirty-one days in your second house, moving from 19°58′ to 26°00′ of Purva Phalguni — pada 2 to pada 4 — and visible in the evening sky throughout. Jupiter in the second is one of the better placements for savings, family wealth and the weight your word carries.
The Month’s Fixed Points
- Friday 1 October — Mercury at 8°18′ of Swati in your fourth house, direct; Mars in your fourth; a debilitated Venus and the Sun in your third; Jupiter at 19°58′ of Purva Phalguni in your second; Saturn debilitated in your tenth; Rahu in your seventh, Ketu on your rashi. Sharad Navratri, which began on 30 September, is running.
- Sunday 3 October, 6:20 pm — Venus leaves your third house for your fourth, in its own sign, out of debilitation.
- Thursday 7 October, 8:06 pm — Mercury turns retrograde in your fourth house. Durga Ashtami falls on Thursday 7 October. The ashtami tithi spans two sunrises that year, so some panchangs place the observance a day later — check your family’s.
- Friday 8 October, 1:21 am — Mars leaves your fourth house for your fifth and is in its own sign there for the rest of the month.
- Saturday 9 October — Maha Navami. Dussehra falls on Saturday 9 October. That day’s panchang.
- Saturday 9 October, 3:05 am — Venus enters Swati in your fourth house.
- Monday 11 October, 3:02 pm — Mercury and Venus are exact at 9°46′ of Libra in your fourth house; the Sun enters Chitra at 8:26 am in your third.
- Tuesday 12 October, 6:50 pm — Mars enters Anuradha in your fifth house.
- Thursday 14 October — Sharad Purnima, the Moon’s own night of the year for the sign the Moon rules. Panchang for the day.
- Friday 15 October, 7:17 pm — the Full Moon forms in your ninth house at 27°42′ of Pisces, in Revati pada 4, and Sharad Purnima’s tithi ends at that same instant; retrograde Mercury reverses into Chitra at 4:26 pm in your fourth.
- Monday 18 October, 2:03 am — Tula Sankranti: the Sun enters Libra and your fourth house, debilitated.
- Tuesday 19 October, 9:00 pm — the Sun and Mercury are exact at 1°47′ of Libra in your fourth house; Venus enters Vishakha at 8:40 pm. Karva Chauth falls on Tuesday 19 October.
- Wednesday 20 October — Saturn leaves your tenth house for your ninth, and its debilitation ends. A day, not a minute: at 0.079° a day the boundary is ayanamsa-dependent.
- Thursday 21 October, 8:16 am — retrograde Mercury reverses into Virgo and your third house, exalted, for the rest of the month.
- Friday 22 October, 2:42 pm — the Moon arrives on Karka Rashi for fifty hours fifty-nine minutes, leaving at 5:41 pm on Sunday the 24th.
- Saturday 23 October — the Moon passes over Ketu’s degree on your own sign. A day, not a minute: an intra-sign crossing depends on both positions.
- Sunday 24 October, 7:01 pm — the Sun enters Swati in your fourth house.
- Wednesday 27 October, 9:53 pm — Venus leaves your fourth house for your fifth, joining Mars. Dhanteras falls on Wednesday 27 October.
- Thursday 28 October, 7:40 pm — Mercury turns direct in your third house, exalted. Narak Chaturdashi falls on Thursday 28 October.
- Friday 29 October, 7:06 pm — the New Moon forms in your fourth house at 11°42′ of Libra, in Swati pada 2. Diwali falls on Friday 29 October, and the amavasya tithi ends at that same instant. Panchang for the day.
- Saturday 30 October, 2:17 pm — Venus enters Anuradha in your fifth house. Govardhan Puja falls on Saturday 30 October.
- Sunday 31 October, 7:57 am — Mars enters Jyeshtha in your fifth house. Bhai Dooj falls on Sunday 31 October.
Week by Week
Thirty-one days running Friday to Sunday. Five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays; four each of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Monday is the Moon’s day and therefore yours, and October gives four of them — the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th — with the 18th carrying Tula Sankranti in the early hours.
1–7 October
Venus reaches its own sign in your fourth house at 6:20 pm on Sunday the 3rd, which is the month’s first improvement. Mercury turns retrograde at 8:06 pm on Thursday the 7th, which is its first complication. Durga Ashtami falls on Thursday 7 October. Anything involving a property document belongs in these seven days rather than later.
8–14 October
Mars leaves your fourth house at 1:21 am on Friday the 8th and reaches its own sign in your fifth, which lowers the temperature at home and raises it around children and competition. Venus enters Swati at 3:05 am on Saturday the 9th; the Sun enters Chitra at 8:26 am and Mercury and Venus are exact at 3:02 pm on Monday the 11th; Mars enters Anuradha at 6:50 pm on Tuesday the 12th. Dussehra falls on Saturday 9 October. Sharad Purnima falls on Thursday 14 October.
15–21 October
The week the month turns. The Full Moon forms in your ninth house at 7:17 pm on Friday the 15th; Tula Sankranti brings a debilitated Sun into your fourth at 2:03 am on Monday the 18th; the Sun and Mercury are exact at 9:00 pm on Tuesday the 19th; Saturn leaves your tenth house and its debilitation on Wednesday the 20th; and Mercury reverses into its exaltation in your third at 8:16 am on Thursday the 21st. Karva Chauth falls on Tuesday 19 October.
22–28 October
Your own Moon window opens at 2:42 pm on Friday the 22nd and closes at 5:41 pm on Sunday the 24th, with the Moon crossing Ketu’s degree on Saturday the 23rd. The Sun enters Swati at 7:01 pm on Sunday the 24th; Venus crosses into your fifth house at 9:53 pm on Wednesday the 27th; Mercury turns direct, exalted, at 7:40 pm on Thursday the 28th. Dhanteras falls on Wednesday 27 October. Narak Chaturdashi falls on Thursday 28 October.
29–31 October
The New Moon forms in your fourth house at 7:06 pm on Friday the 29th at 11°42′ of Libra, in Swati pada 2 — the darkest lunar instant of the month, in your house of home, on the night the house is lit. Diwali falls on Friday 29 October. Venus enters Anuradha at 2:17 pm on Saturday the 30th and Mars enters Jyeshtha at 7:57 am on Sunday the 31st. Govardhan Puja falls on Saturday 30 October. Bhai Dooj falls on Sunday 31 October.
Career and Money for Karka Rashi
Career gets structurally lighter on 20 October, when a debilitated Saturn leaves your tenth house. Before that date, expect the professional load to feel disproportionate to the reward; after it, the tenth house is empty and the pressure moves to the ninth, where it reads as long-horizon work rather than daily grind. Nothing in your tenth house replaces Saturn for the rest of the month.
Money has a good standing feature and a timing caution. The good feature is Jupiter in your second house all month, from 19°58′ to 26°00′ of Purva Phalguni. The caution is Mercury retrograde from 8:06 pm on 7 October to 7:40 pm on 28 October, covering three of the month’s five weeks; with your fourth house so crowded, the temptation is a property or vehicle commitment mid-month, which is exactly the wrong window for a signature.
Mars reaching its own sign in your fifth house at 1:21 am on the 8th, where it remains, favours a speculative or creative venture over a salaried push — but the fifth house is also children and education, so read it there first. See our financial remedies and career remedies pages.
Home, Family and Partnership
Home is the whole month. Five bodies cross your fourth house, both exact conjunctions land there, and Diwali’s New Moon forms there on the 29th. Venus in its own sign in that house from the 3rd to the 27th is the best of it — the right window for repairs, decoration, a purchase for the household, or simply time with your mother. If a formal step is planned, the griha pravesh page for October 2027 and the business and property page give the dates, and the window after Mercury turns direct on the 28th is the cleaner one.
Partnership carries Rahu in your seventh house, from 14°09′ falling to 12°31′ of Shravana, with Ketu on your own sign opposite it. That axis reads as a partner or associate whose plans feel larger and more urgent than yours, and as your own tendency to withdraw rather than argue. The wedding calendar stays shut all month in any case, because Chaturmas runs to Devuthani Ekadashi in November. See the marriage muhurat page for October 2027 and our marriage delay page.
Karva Chauth falls on Tuesday 19 October, and for Karka it lands in your eleventh house rather than your fourth, so it reads as a day about the wider circle as much as the marriage. Bhai Dooj falls on Sunday 31 October, with an exalted Mercury direct in your third house of siblings — the best planetary support the sibling festival gets all year.
Health
Sagittarius is your sixth house of illness and it is empty for all thirty-one days, which is a genuinely good sign: October holds no planet in your house of disease and both of its exact conjunctions fall in your fourth. The pressure this month is emotional rather than physical.
Karka’s standing weak points are the chest, stomach and digestion, all Moon-governed, and the Moon’s condition is the thing to watch. Your Chandra window is 2:42 pm on 22 October to 5:41 pm on 24 October — fifty hours fifty-nine minutes, one of October’s shortest — and the Moon crosses Ketu’s degree inside it on the 23rd, so treat that day as a rest day rather than a decision day. Water, warm food and an early night do more for Karka than any tonic.
Remedies for Karka Rashi in October 2027
Four conditions define the month: five bodies and both exact conjunctions through your fourth house, closing with the Diwali New Moon there at 7:06 pm on 29 October; Ketu on your rashi from 14°09′ to 12°31′ with Rahu opposite; a debilitated Saturn leaving your tenth house on 20 October; and an exalted Mercury turning direct in your third at 7:40 pm on 28 October.
- Do the household work between 3 and 27 October: Venus is in its own sign in your fourth house across that stretch, which is the strongest support your home gets this year.
- Keep property signatures out of 7–28 October: Mercury is retrograde for the whole of that window, and your fourth house is where the month’s activity is concentrated.
- Treat Saturday 23 October as a rest day: the Moon that rules your sign passes over Ketu’s degree on your own rashi that day, inside a short fifty-one-hour window.
- Chandra practice on the four Mondays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 October: white rice, water offered at a Shiva temple, and something given rather than bought. See our weak Moon page and Monday fasting.
- Mark 20 October as the date your career pressure changes: a debilitated Saturn leaves your tenth house that day, and nothing takes its place for the rest of the month.
- Use the last ten days for anything involving a sibling, a course or a short trip: Mercury is exalted in your third house from the 21st and direct there from the evening of the 28th.
- Light the house properly on Diwali: the New Moon forms in your fourth house at 7:06 pm on 29 October, at the instant the amavasya tithi ends, and the fourth house is governed by the planet that rules your sign.
In Summary
For Karka Rashi, October 2027 is a month that happens in your fourth house. Five of the nine bodies pass through Libra, both exact conjunctions occur there — Mercury with Venus at 9°46′ at 3:02 pm on 11 October, the Sun with Mercury at 1°47′ at 9:00 pm on 19 October — and the New Moon of Diwali forms there at 7:06 pm on Friday 29 October, in Swati pada 2. For the sign whose ruler governs the fourth house, that is as close as a transit chart comes to putting the whole month indoors.
Two slower facts frame it. Ketu holds your rashi for all thirty-one days, from 14°09′ back to 12°31′ of Pushya, with Rahu opposite in your seventh — and the Moon passes over Ketu’s degree on Saturday 23 October, inside its fifty-hour-fifty-nine-minute stay on your sign. Meanwhile a debilitated Saturn leaves your tenth house on 20 October, five days after the Full Moon lit the ninth house it moves into.
All of this is sign-level arithmetic. Which of the nine Karka padas holds your natal Moon, where the Moon and Saturn sit in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it actually reaches you. For more, read September’s reading, what Karka Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our page on the Moon in Vedic astrology.
A whole month concentrated in one house
Whether five bodies crossing your fourth house helps or unsettles depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon, where the Moon and Saturn sit in your own chart, and which dasha is running — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
