Capricorn Rashifal October 2027 (Makara Rashi): Diwali’s New Moon Forms in Your Tenth House and Saturn Improves Twice Over on the Twentieth

Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji

October 2027 gives Makara Rashi two events worth planning around, and both are about work. Libra is your tenth house of career and public standing, and October crowds it: five of the nine bodies cross it, both of the month’s exact conjunctions happen inside it, and the New Moon of Diwali forms there at 7:06 pm on Friday 29 October, at 11°42′ of Libra in Swati pada 2. Diwali falls on Friday 29 October, and the amavasya tithi ends at that same instant.

The second event is your own ruler. On 20 October retrograde Saturn crosses out of Aries into Pisces, and for Makara that single move improves two separate things at once. It ends Saturn’s debilitation, and it takes Saturn out of your fourth house into your third — one of the four upachaya houses, the places classical texts say Saturn grows in rather than struggles in. No other rashi gets both halves of that from the same crossing.

Against those, one steady condition runs all month: Rahu is on your own sign, and Ketu is opposite it in your seventh house. The axis of the nodes sits across you and your partnerships for all thirty-one days.

One Crossing, Two Improvements

Take the two halves separately. Aries is the sign of Saturn’s fall, and Pisces is not, so from the 20th your ruler stops working from its weakest dignity for the first time since it entered Aries. That matters for everything Saturn signifies in your chart specifically, because in Makara it signifies you.

The house change is the part most readings miss. Your fourth house is a kendra — an angle — and Saturn in a kendra is strong in effect but heavy in feel; the fourth in particular is home, mother and peace of mind, which are not what Saturn is good at. Your third house is an upachaya house, along with the sixth, tenth and eleventh, and those are precisely where Saturn’s slowness turns into accumulation: effort, courage, siblings, short journeys, the documents and small negotiations of ordinary life. A retrograde Saturn there, out of its fall, is the best position it has held for you in a long while.

We publish that crossing as a day and not a clock time, and the reason is arithmetic. At the boundary Saturn is moving at 0.079° a day — under two and a half minutes of arc in twenty-four hours — so any published instant would be a statement about which ayanamsa value you use, not about the sky. The same applies to its reversal into Revati, which happens at the same crossing. Mercury’s stations, further down this page, are given to the minute, because a station is intrinsic to the geometry rather than a matter of convention.

If you have been reading about Sade Sati: Makara is not in it this month. Sade Sati runs while Saturn transits the twelfth, first and second from the natal Moon, and for Makara those three places are Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius. Your ruler holds Aries and then Pisces this month, which is outside that stretch entirely.

Sixty Hours Fifty-Seven Minutes, for the Third Month Running

The Moon holds Makara from 1:58 pm on Friday 8 October to 2:55 am on Monday 11 Octobersixty hours fifty-seven minutes. That is the longest of October’s twelve windows. It is also, to the minute, the same length as September’s Makara window, and it makes Capricorn the sign holding the month’s longest Moon stay for the third month in a row: sixty hours fifty-eight minutes in August, sixty hours fifty-seven in September, sixty hours fifty-seven now.

Why it happens is worth knowing, because it is not luck. The Moon’s orbit is an ellipse, so it moves slowest near apogee, and a slower Moon takes longer to clear thirty degrees. Through this stretch of 2027 that slow arc keeps falling across Capricorn. The practical reading is simple: your Chandra window is the longest in the month, and it lands on the weekend of the 9th and 10th.

Inside it, the Moon crosses Rahu’s degree on your own sign on Saturday the 9th. We give that as a day rather than a clock time deliberately: a Moon–Rahu meeting inside one sign is an intra-sign crossing, and the exact minute of one depends on the node model used, unlike a sign boundary the ephemeris table holds directly. Treat the 9th as the day of the month when a decision made from a feeling is most likely to be a decision you revisit.

Five Bodies and Both Conjunctions in Your Career House

Count the traffic. Your career house opens the month carrying Mercury and Mars, loses Mars at 1:21 am on Friday 8 October, and picks up Venus at 6:20 pm on Sunday 3 October — Libra being a sign Venus owns, that arrival ends the fall it had been working from through September. Venus stays until 9:53 pm on Wednesday 27 October. Mercury turns retrograde inside the house at 8:06 pm on Thursday 7 October and vacates it on the 21st. Tula Sankranti delivers a debilitated Sun at 2:03 am on Monday 18 October, and the Moon passes through twice.

Only two exact conjunctions occur anywhere in the sky this month, and your tenth house takes both of them: Mercury with Venus at 9°46′ of Libra, at 3:02 pm on Monday 11 October, and then the Sun with Mercury at 1°47′, at 9:00 pm on Tuesday 19 October.

Read that as attention rather than as advancement. Venus in its own sign in the tenth is good for how you are received; a retrograde Mercury there for two thirds of the month is bad for what you commit to in writing; and a debilitated Sun in the tenth from the 18th means authority is the weak part — you will get further this month by being useful than by being in charge. The Diwali New Moon on the 29th resets the house, which is why that instant, and not the middle of the month, is where a new professional intention belongs.

The Nodes Across You and Your Partner

Rahu holds your own sign for the whole month, moving backwards from 14°09′ to 12°31′ — from Shravana pada 2 into pada 1. Ketu sits exactly opposite in your seventh house, from 14°09′ to 12°31′ of Pushya, pada 4 into pada 3. That is the classic nodal axis on the self–partner line, and it is the one thing in your October that is not a passing event.

What it tends to produce: an inflated sense of your own direction, and a matching tendency to under-read what the other person actually wants. Ketu in the seventh does not create arguments so much as it creates absence — the partner asks for less than they need, and you take that at face value. The Moon crosses Ketu’s degree in your seventh house on Saturday the 23rd, inside its stay on Cancer from 2:42 pm on Friday 22 October to 5:41 pm on Sunday 24 October; again a day, not a minute, and for the same reason as above.

Our Rahu-Ketu remedies page covers the axis properly, and the Kaal Sarp page explains what a transit axis does and does not have in common with the natal condition of the same name.

The Month’s Fixed Points

  • Friday 1 October — Mercury at 8°18′ of Swati and Mars at 25°05′ of Vishakha in your tenth, Mercury still direct; a debilitated Venus and the Sun in your ninth; Jupiter at 19°58′ of Purva Phalguni in your eighth; Saturn debilitated in your fourth; Rahu at 14°09′ on your own sign, Ketu opposite in your seventh. Sharad Navratri, which began on 30 September, is running.
  • Sunday 3 October, 6:20 pm — Venus leaves your ninth house for your tenth, in its own sign, out of debilitation.
  • Thursday 7 October, 8:06 pm — Mercury turns retrograde in your tenth house. Durga Ashtami falls on Thursday 7 October. The ashtami tithi spans two sunrises that year, so some panchangs place the observance a day later — check your family’s.
  • Friday 8 October, 1:21 am — Mars leaves your tenth house for your eleventh, in its own sign; the Moon arrives on Makara Rashi at 1:58 pm for sixty hours fifty-seven minutes, October’s longest window.
  • Saturday 9 October, 3:05 am — Venus enters Swati in your tenth house; the Moon crosses Rahu’s degree on your own sign during the day.
  • Saturday 9 October — Maha Navami. Dussehra falls on Saturday 9 October. That day’s panchang.
  • Monday 11 October, 2:55 am — the Moon leaves your rashi; Mercury and Venus are exact at 9°46′ of Libra in your tenth house at 3:02 pm, and the Sun enters Chitra at 8:26 am.
  • Tuesday 12 October, 6:50 pm — Mars enters Anuradha in your eleventh house.
  • Thursday 14 October — Sharad Purnima. Panchang for the day.
  • Friday 15 October, 7:17 pm — the Full Moon forms in your third house at 27°42′ of Pisces, in Revati pada 4; retrograde Mercury reverses into Chitra at 4:26 pm in your tenth.
  • Monday 18 October, 2:03 am — Tula Sankranti: the Sun enters Libra and your tenth house, debilitated, for the rest of the month.
  • Tuesday 19 October, 9:00 pm — the Sun and Mercury are exact at 1°47′ of Libra in your tenth house; Venus enters Vishakha at 8:40 pm. Karva Chauth falls on Tuesday 19 October.
  • Wednesday 20 October — Saturn leaves your fourth house for your third, out of debilitation and into an upachaya house, and reverses into Revati. A day, not a minute: at 0.079° a day the boundary is ayanamsa-dependent.
  • Thursday 21 October, 8:16 am — retrograde Mercury reverses into Virgo and your ninth house, exalted, for the rest of the month.
  • Saturday 23 October — the Moon crosses Ketu’s degree in your seventh house; a day, not a minute.
  • Sunday 24 October, 7:01 pm — the Sun enters Swati in your tenth house.
  • Wednesday 27 October, 9:53 pm — Venus leaves your tenth house for your eleventh, joining Mars. Dhanteras falls on Wednesday 27 October.
  • Thursday 28 October, 7:40 pm — Mercury turns direct in your ninth house, exalted. Narak Chaturdashi falls on Thursday 28 October.
  • Friday 29 October, 7:06 pm — the New Moon forms in your tenth house at 11°42′ of Libra, in Swati pada 2. Diwali falls on Friday 29 October, and the amavasya tithi ends at that same instant. Panchang for the day.
  • Saturday 30 October, 2:17 pm — Venus enters Anuradha in your eleventh house. Govardhan Puja falls on Saturday 30 October.
  • Sunday 31 October, 7:57 am — Mars enters Jyeshtha in your eleventh house. Bhai Dooj falls on Sunday 31 October.

Week by Week

Thirty-one days running Friday to Sunday. Five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays; four each of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Saturday is your ruler’s day and October gives five — the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th — with the last two of them falling after Saturn leaves its debilitation.

1–7 October

Venus reaches its own sign in your career house at 6:20 pm on Sunday the 3rd, and Mercury turns retrograde there at 8:06 pm on Thursday the 7th. Durga Ashtami falls on Thursday 7 October. These are the only seven days of the month with Mercury moving forwards in your tenth house, so a contract, an offer letter or a proposal belongs in this week rather than in the next three.

8–14 October

Your week. Mars crosses into your eleventh house in its own sign at 1:21 am on Friday the 8th and the Moon arrives on your rashi at 1:58 pm the same day, for the longest window of the month. Venus enters Swati at 3:05 am on Saturday the 9th, and the Moon passes Rahu’s degree that day. The Moon leaves at 2:55 am on Monday the 11th; Mercury and Venus are exact at 3:02 pm that afternoon; Mars enters Anuradha at 6:50 pm on Tuesday the 12th. Dussehra falls on Saturday 9 October. Sharad Purnima falls on Thursday 14 October.

15–21 October

The week the month turns. The Full Moon forms in your third house at 7:17 pm on Friday the 15th; Tula Sankranti brings a debilitated Sun into your career house at 2:03 am on Monday the 18th; the Sun and Mercury are exact at 9:00 pm on Tuesday the 19th; Saturn changes both sign and dignity on Wednesday the 20th; and Mercury reverses into its exaltation in your ninth at 8:16 am on Thursday the 21st. Karva Chauth falls on Tuesday 19 October.

22–28 October

An exalted Mercury sits in your ninth house all week and turns direct there at 7:40 pm on Thursday the 28th. The Moon crosses Ketu’s degree in your seventh on Saturday the 23rd; the Sun enters Swati at 7:01 pm on Sunday the 24th; Venus crosses into your eleventh house at 9:53 pm on Wednesday the 27th. Dhanteras falls on Wednesday 27 October. Narak Chaturdashi falls on Thursday 28 October.

29–31 October

The New Moon forms in your tenth house at 7:06 pm on Friday the 29th at 11°42′ of Libra, in Swati pada 2 — a career-house lunation on the evening of the year’s biggest festival. Diwali falls on Friday 29 October. Venus enters Anuradha at 2:17 pm on Saturday the 30th and Mars enters Jyeshtha at 7:57 am on Sunday the 31st. Govardhan Puja falls on Saturday 30 October. Bhai Dooj falls on Sunday 31 October.

Career and Money for Makara Rashi

Career is the whole month, and the sequence matters more than the total. Sign what needs signing in the first week, while Mercury is still direct in your tenth house. Expect the middle of the month to be about being seen rather than about moving — Venus in its own sign there, both exact conjunctions, and a debilitated Sun from the 18th. Then set the new direction at the Diwali New Moon on the 29th, and act on it in November.

Money improves in the last third. Mars enters Scorpio, its own sign, in your eleventh house of gains at 1:21 am on Friday 8 October and stays there for the remaining twenty-three days and twenty-two hours, covering twenty-two degrees and eight minutes; Venus joins it in that house at 9:53 pm on Wednesday 27 October, on Dhanteras. A dignified Mars and a strong Venus in the house of income is the month’s clearest financial support. See our financial remedies and career remedies pages.

One qualification on the ninth house: an exalted Mercury turning direct there on the 28th is excellent for study, for a mentor’s advice and for anything to do with a long journey or a formal course — and it is worth using, because Jupiter is in your eighth house all month rather than in a place that supports the same significations.

Home, Family and Partnership

Home gets relief on the 20th. Saturn had been sitting debilitated in your fourth house; when it crosses into your third, the pressure it had been putting on domestic ease and on your mother’s routine lifts. Nothing arrives to replace it — your fourth house is empty for the rest of the month, and Aries takes no other body in October — so the second half is quieter at home than the first.

Partnership is the harder side, because Ketu holds your seventh house all month and its lord, the Moon, only visits it for fifty hours fifty-nine minutes from 2:42 pm on Friday 22 October. Say things plainly this month; a seventh house with Ketu in it fills silence with the wrong assumption. Marriage muhurats are shut in any case, since Chaturmas runs to Devuthani Ekadashi in November. See the marriage muhurat page for October 2027, and our marriage delay page covers the longer question.

For a property or vehicle step, the last three days of the month are the better window — Mercury direct, Venus and Mars both in your house of gains. See the griha pravesh page and the vehicle purchase page for October 2027.

Health

Gemini is your sixth house of illness, and the Moon is the only body that touches it all month — from 10:54 am on Wednesday 20 October to 2:42 pm on Friday 22 October. Neither exact conjunction falls on the health axis. So October carries no sharp trigger. Jupiter in your eighth house for all thirty-one days, from 19°58′ to 26°00′ of Purva Phalguni, is the one placement to respect: the eighth rewards a proper investigation and punishes a guess, so if something needs a test, get the test.

Makara’s standing weak points are the knees, joints and skin, all Saturn-governed, and your ruler spends the first nineteen days of October debilitated and retrograde. Expect stiffness and dryness to be worse in the first half than the second, and better after the 20th. Your Chandra window — 1:58 pm on 8 October to 2:55 am on 11 October, sixty hours fifty-seven minutes, the month’s longest — is the rest you are actually given; take the weekend of the 9th and 10th off if the month allows it.

Remedies for Makara Rashi in October 2027

Four conditions define the month: your ruler leaving both its debilitation and a kendra on 20 October; five bodies, both exact conjunctions and the Diwali New Moon in your tenth house; Rahu on your own sign at 14°09′ falling to 12°31′, with Ketu opposite; and October’s longest Moon window, sixty hours fifty-seven minutes, on Makara itself.

  • Do the paperwork in the first week: Mercury is direct in your tenth house only until 8:06 pm on the 7th, and retrograde there for the fortnight after.
  • Shani practice on the five Saturdays — 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 October: sesame oil, black til, and something given rather than promised. The 23rd and 30th fall after your ruler leaves its fall, and are the two to weight. See our Saturday fasting page and Shani remedies.
  • Rest on 9–10 October: the Moon is on your sign for sixty hours fifty-seven minutes, the longest window of the month, and it crosses Rahu’s degree on the 9th — a good weekend to reflect and a poor one to commit.
  • Set the career intention at the Diwali lunation: the New Moon forms in your tenth house at 7:06 pm on 29 October, at the instant the amavasya tithi ends.
  • Say the difficult thing out loud before the 23rd: Ketu in your seventh house all month turns unspoken things into assumptions, and the Moon reaches that house on the 22nd.
  • Keep the durable answer at home after the 20th: with Saturn out of your fourth house, a domestic decision deferred through September becomes easier to make well.
  • Nodal remedies through the whole month, not on one day: the axis is a standing condition rather than an event. Our Rahu-Ketu page covers it.

In Summary

For Makara Rashi, October 2027 is a career month with a good ending. Five of the nine bodies cross your tenth house, both of the sky’s only two exact conjunctions happen there, at 3:02 pm on 11 October and 9:00 pm on 19 October. The New Moon of Diwali forms there at 7:06 pm on Friday 29 October, at 11°42′ of Libra in Swati pada 2. The month’s weakness is in the same house: a debilitated Sun from the 18th and a retrograde Mercury from the 7th to the 21st.

Your ruler is the reason the month improves rather than drifts. On 20 October Saturn crosses from Aries into Pisces, ending its debilitation and moving from your fourth house into your third, an upachaya house — two improvements from one crossing, published as a day because at 0.079° a day the boundary is a matter of convention rather than of sky. Around that, Mars holds your house of gains in its own sign from 1:21 am on 8 October, Venus joins it there on the 27th, and the Moon gives you the longest window of the month on your own sign, sixty hours fifty-seven minutes, for the third month running.

All of this is sign-level arithmetic. Which of the nine Makara padas holds your natal Moon, where Saturn sits in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it reaches you. For more, read September’s reading, what Makara Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our page on Saturn in Vedic astrology.

Your ruler changes dignity on the twentieth

Whether Saturn leaving its debilitation reaches you as relief or as nothing depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon, where Saturn sits in your own chart, and which dasha is running — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
