Jupiter, Saturn and Outer-Planet Aspects 2026–2028
Published 2026-10-28 | Live Pandit Ji
Between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2028 the five slow outer bodies of a Western chart, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, reach an exact conjunction, sextile, square, trine or opposition with one another 29 times. Eleven of those had already happened by 28 October 2026; 18 are still to come. The next is Uranus trine Pluto on 29 November 2026, 32 days after this page was published, and the last in the span is Saturn square Pluto on 15 November 2028.
The list comes from the JPL DE421 ephemeris: the generator steps through the three years hour by hour, finds each instant at which two of these planets are separated by exactly 0°, 60°, 90°, 120° or 180° of longitude, and narrows it down to the second for its own checks. The page prints the IST date only. Near an exact angle the separation between two of these planets changes so slowly that a quoted clock time would claim more precision than the positions support, and a reader in another time zone may see a different date anyway.
What Counts as an Exact Aspect Here
In modern Western astrology the five angles have names: 0° is a conjunction, 60° a sextile, 90° a square, 120° a trine and 180° an opposition. Western astrologers also count an aspect for a while either side of the exact angle, inside an allowance called an orb, and writers differ on how wide the orb should be. This page makes a narrower choice: it lists only the moments when the angle is exact, with no orb at all. One consequence is that a pair coming within a fraction of a degree of an angle without reaching it does not appear, although a writer using any orb would count it.
An exact aspect falls at the same instant in the tropical and the sidereal zodiac. Both planets’ sidereal longitudes are their tropical longitudes less one ayanamsa, and at a single instant that one number cancels when the two are subtracted. The generator stores both zodiacs for every hit, and the lib checks that the angle comes out exact in each. What changes is the sign label. At an exact multiple of 30° both planets sit at the same degree of their signs, and with the Lahiri ayanamsa a little over 24° in these years, the sidereal signs are the ones before the tropical signs unless that shared tropical degree is larger than the ayanamsa. That happens in only two of the 29 hits, Saturn sextile Uranus on 20 January 2026 and Jupiter trine Saturn on 12 July 2027; in the other 27 both planets change sign between the two zodiacs. The table gives both.

Rows are grouped by pair. The degree column is the degree within the sign, which is the same for both planets at an exact aspect. Six hits fall before 05:30 IST, so for a reader keeping UTC their date is the day before; those rows carry the UTC date as well. The last column says which planet, if either, was or will be in apparent retrograde motion at the hit; the flags agree with the stations in the site’s own retrograde tables for Jupiter and Saturn, and with the Uranus, Neptune and Pluto stations on the outer-planet retrograde page.
Every one of the ten possible pairs reaches at least one exact angle in the three years; for Saturn–Uranus and Saturn–Neptune there is only one each. By angle, the sextile is the commonest (12 hits), then the trine (11), the square (3) and the opposition (2), with a single conjunction. In 23 of the 29 hits at least one of the two planets is retrograde, in three both are, and in six neither is.
Jupiter Trine Saturn, Three Times
Jupiter and Saturn came to an exact trine on 1 September 2026, and will do so again on 3 April 2027 and 12 July 2027. In the tropical zodiac all three have Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries, which is the form the searched phrase “Jupiter in Leo trine Saturn in Aries” takes. In the Lahiri zodiac the first two are Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces, at 19.5° and 22.9° of those signs; only the third, at 2.9°, has Jupiter in sidereal Leo and Saturn in sidereal Aries, after both have crossed into those signs. The Jupiter in Leo page and the Saturn transit 2027 page date those sidereal crossings.
Three hits instead of one come from the retrograde loops. On 1 September Saturn was retrograde, inside its loop of 27 July 2026 to 11 December 2026, and Jupiter direct, so Jupiter’s lead over Saturn was growing as it passed 120°. On 3 April Jupiter will be the retrograde one, in its loop of 13 December 2026 to 13 April 2027, with Saturn direct, so the gap will be shrinking back through 120°. By 12 July both will be direct, and the gap will pass 120° a third time, growing again; that is the last Jupiter–Saturn hit in the span. The table holds no Jupiter–Saturn conjunction or opposition anywhere in 2026 to 2028.
The Long Series: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto
The three outer planets move so slowly against one another that a separation can hover near an exact angle for years, and each yearly retrograde swings it back across. Neptune sextile Pluto is the longest series in the table, six hits: 25 July 2026, 16 September 2026, 29 June 2027, 16 October 2027, 9 June 2028, 8 November 2028. At every one Neptune is 3.3° to 8.6° into tropical Aries (in sidereal Pisces), and Pluto in tropical Aquarius (sidereal Capricorn); in three of the six both planets are retrograde.
Uranus trine Pluto has five hits, 18 July 2026, 29 November 2026, 15 June 2027, 13 January 2028, 10 May 2028, with Uranus in tropical Gemini (sidereal Taurus) each time, and its retrograde flags alternate cleanly: Pluto retrograde at the first, Uranus at the second, and so on, never both. Uranus sextile Neptune has three: 16 July 2026, 15 January 2027, 6 June 2027. Saturn’s only squares in the span are both to Pluto, on 24 June 2028 with Pluto retrograde and on 15 November 2028 with Saturn retrograde. The other ten pair-and-angle combinations occur once each.
The Saturn–Neptune Conjunction of February 2026
The table’s single conjunction was Saturn with Neptune on 20 February 2026, with both planets direct, at 0°45′ of tropical Aries, which puts it less than a degree past the start of the tropical zodiac. In the Lahiri zodiac the same instant falls at 6°32′ of Pisces. The data behind this page start in 2026, so it says nothing about earlier Saturn–Neptune conjunctions; it records only that this one is the only conjunction of any two of the five planets from 2026 to 2028.
A Crowded Stretch in July 2026
Six of the hits fell within ten days, 16 July to 25 July 2026, and they are all six pairs that can be made from Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. At those hits the four planets sat at very nearly the same degree of four different signs, 4.3° to 4.6°: tropical Leo, Gemini, Aries and Aquarius respectively, or sidereal Cancer, Taurus, Pisces and Capricorn. That included Jupiter opposite Pluto on 20 July 2026; the span’s other opposition, Jupiter opposite Neptune, will come on 29 September 2028. Outside it, no stretch of the same length holds more than three hits. Figures that also take in the faster planets, such as grand trines and T-squares, are dated on the grand trine and T-square page.
How Graha Drishti Counts the Same Pairs
Jyotish has its own aspect, graha drishti, and it is counted differently. The graha drishti page sets out the rule this site uses: whole signs, counted from the graha’s own sign, with no degrees involved. The site’s planet table gives Jupiter the 5th, 7th and 9th houses and Saturn the 3rd, 7th and 10th houses. It covers the nine grahas, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are not among them, so for 12 of the 15 hits involving Jupiter or Saturn the count can run in one direction only.
Because both planets share one in-sign degree at an exact aspect, the whole-sign count is fixed by the angle. At each Jupiter–Saturn trine Saturn is 9th from Jupiter and Jupiter 5th from Saturn, in sidereal signs: Jupiter’s list includes the 9th, Saturn’s does not include the 5th, so by the site’s table the drishti runs from Jupiter to Saturn and not back, on all three dates, while the Western trine is one symmetric angle. Across the 15 hits, Jupiter’s or Saturn’s list reaches the other body’s sign in 11, including every trine and opposition. The four it misses are Saturn conjunct Neptune (1st), Saturn sextile Pluto (11th), Jupiter sextile Uranus (11th) and Jupiter square Uranus (10th), the ordinal being the other body counted from Jupiter or Saturn. A same-sign conjunction is not in any graha’s drishti list at all.
What This Page Does Not Give
These are angles and dates, nothing more. The page does not say what any aspect means for a person, a sign, a country, a market or the news, and it forecasts nothing; a list of separations in longitude cannot show whether any such reading holds. It also gives no orb-based start and end for any aspect, no clock times, and no history from before 2026.
