Venus in Libra 2026: Shukra Gochar Tula Rashi Dates

The Second Entry Into Tula (शुक्र का तुला राशि में गोचर)

Venus crosses into Libra at 17:09 IST on 22 November 2026 and stays there until 1 January 2027, when it moves on into Scorpio: 40 days. It has been here once already this season. The first entry, on 2 September 2026, was cut short when Venus slowed to a stop inside the sign on 3 October 2026, moved backwards, and crosses back into Virgo on 6 November 2026. It turns direct in Virgo on 14 November 2026, and the November crossing is the same boundary taken forwards a second time.

That adds up to 105 days in Libra across the season, against the roughly 3 weeks to 2 months per sign that the site’s pace table gives Venus. The retrograde accounts for the difference. Venus’s next pass through Libra, from 3 October 2027, contains no station and takes 24 days.

Why the Second Spell Starts Slowly

Venus reaches Libra only 8 days after its direct station and is still gathering speed. The ingress table has it moving 0.31° a day as it crosses into Libra, and 1.01° a day as it leaves. The monthly position rows show what that means: on 1 December 2026, 9 days into the spell, Venus is only 3.6° into Libra, and by the start of 1 January it has reached 29.0°. Most of the sign is crossed in December.

The opening degrees are also familiar ground. The retrograde station, according to the site’s retrograde table, fell at 14.3° of Libra, so the first 14 or so degrees of the sign are being crossed for the third time this season: forwards in September, backwards in October and early November, and forwards again now. How Firm the Entry and Exit Times Are

Only sign changes get a clock time here, because each is faster than the 0.1°-a-day floor below which the site prints a date alone. Even so, speed decides what a minute is worth. At the November entry, one arcminute of longitude corresponds to about 77 minutes of clock, so an almanac working with an ayanamsa a fraction different from the Lahiri value used here can put the crossing more than an hour away from 17:09 and still be doing its arithmetic correctly. The date is safer than the minute: the crossing sits hours from either midnight. At the January exit the rate is about 24 minutes per arcminute, but the crossing at 23:18 is only 42 minutes short of midnight, so a difference of under two arcminutes would move it to 2 January. Hold that date a little loosely.

Own Sign, With the Debilitation Sign Next Door

The site’s planet table lists Taurus and Libra as Venus’s own signs, and its moolatrikona field also names Libra, for part of the sign; this page does not quote the degree span. On that table, then, the second entry takes Venus out of Virgo, which the same table gives as its sign of debilitation, and into a sign it rules. The 16 days between the two spells, and the direct station itself, are spent in that debilitation sign. Exaltation is elsewhere, in Pisces. What a transiting Venus in its own sign amounts to for any one person is not something the dignity table states; it records the placement.

Where Venus Stands in the Friendship Table

The natural-friendship table is not symmetrical, so it is worth reading both directions. Here is each graha as Venus’s row lists it, and Venus as that graha’s own row lists it:

Mercury and Saturn are friends in both directions, and the Sun is an enemy in both; the Moon and Jupiter rows disagree with Venus’s. One of the mutual friends is in Libra when Venus arrives: Mercury entered the sign on 26 September 2026 and leaves it for Scorpio on 2 December 2026, so the two share Libra for 10 days. The conjunction table has no exact meeting of Venus with any graha during the second spell. These are relationships between table rows, and the page draws no forecast from them.

Chitra, Swati and Vishakha (नक्षत्र)

Venus comes back into Libra inside Chitra, the nakshatra that runs across the line between Virgo and Libra; it backed into Chitra during the retrograde and makes its direct station there. It moves into Swati, which lies wholly in Libra, on 5 December 2026, and into Vishakha on 22 December 2026. Vishakha continues into Scorpio, so Venus is still in it when the spell ends. The nakshatra table gives the three lords as Mars, Rahu and Jupiter. Crossings are dated by the day, and no pada is named.

Counting Libra From Your Moon Sign (चंद्र राशि से भाव)

Transits in the gochara method are counted from the janma rashi, the sign the Moon held at birth, which is taken as the 1st house. The table does that count for Libra, gives the house’s name as the site’s house tables record it, and adds the house Venus’s 7th-house aspect reaches from there. Each house page lists the subjects the tradition assigns to that house. None of this is a forecast: a house names a field of life, and the table does not say what a transit does in it.
