Aries Rashifal May 2027 (Mesha Rashi): The Last Full Month Before Saturn Reaches Your Sign
Published 2026-08-21 | Live Pandit Ji
May 2027 is the month a Mesha reader should be watching the twelfth house, and the reason is arithmetic rather than atmosphere. Saturn begins the month at 26°18′ of Pisces and ends it at 29°47′ — thirteen arc-minutes from the end of the zodiac, and thirteen arc-minutes from your own sign. It crosses into Aries on 3 June 2027. So this is the last full month of the first, lighter phase of Sade Sati, and the last full month before the heavy one begins on Mesha Rashi itself.
The first half of the month is the compensation, and it is a strong one. The Sun is exalted on your own sign until 12:14 pm on Saturday 15 May, when it leaves Aries for Taurus at Vrishabha Sankranti. Better still, while the exalted Sun is in Aries, Mars — your ruler — is in Leo, the Sun’s own sign. Two planets each sitting in the other’s house is a parivartana yoga, an exchange, and this one is between the lord of your rashi and the exalted Sun on it. It runs until the Sankranti and not one minute longer.
And the calendar is completely clear. All 31 days of May 2027 are open — no Kharmas, no Holashtak, no Chaturmas, no Adhika Maas, and neither Jupiter nor Venus combust. May sits in the middle of an unbroken run of 82 open days, from 15 April to 5 July 2027, which is the longest such stretch in the two years our ephemeris tables cover.
Sade Sati’s Lighter Phase Has One Month Left
Saturn in Pisces is Saturn in your twelfth house, which is the first of Sade Sati’s three phases for Mesha Rashi. It has been the phase of expenditure, distance and invisible effort: money going out on things nobody congratulates you for, work that does not get seen, sleep that is not quite enough. In May it moves 3°29′ and crosses from the third pada of Revati into the fourth.
That fourth pada matters, because it is the gandanta — the last 3°20′ of a water sign meeting the first 3°20′ of a fire sign, the junction Vedic astrology treats as the most unstable stretch of the zodiac. Saturn enters it in the first days of May and does not leave it in May at all; it is still inside when the month ends. Saturn moves about 0.11° a day here, so the exact crossing is a matter of a day either way rather than a minute, and it is not worth publishing to the minute.
Practically, read May as the last month in which twelfth-house pressure stays at a distance. From 3 June it stops being about outgo and starts being about you: Saturn on the Moon sign is Sade Sati’s second and heaviest phase, and it does not end quickly — Saturn returns briefly to Pisces on 20 October 2027 before settling into Aries on 23 February 2028. Use May to finish, not to start over. Our Sade Sati page works through the three phases in order.
The Exalted Sun Leaves Your Sign at 12:14 pm on 15 May
The Sun entered Aries on 14 April and is exalted there for the first fifteen days of May, from 15°57′ to the end of the sign. At 12:14 pm on Saturday 15 May it crosses into Taurus and your second house of money, speech, family and accumulated resources. It enters Krittika at 1:22 am on Wednesday 12 May and Rohini at 9:39 pm on Tuesday 25 May.
So the month has a clean shape for you: a fortnight of visibility and initiative, then a fortnight about what it earns. An exalted Sun on the rashi is other people treating you as the person in charge; the Sun in the second house is the same energy pointed at income and at what you say. The transition is not a loss. It is the difference between being seen and being paid.
The exchange with Mars sharpens the first half. Mars in Leo occupies the Sun’s sign in your fifth house while the Sun occupies Mars’s sign on your first, and a parivartana between the lord of the rashi and the lord of the fifth is one of the more useful ones for anything creative, speculative or to do with children. It ends at the Sankranti. If there is a risk you have been sizing up, size it up before 15 May.
Your Ruler Spends the Whole Month in Magha
Mars runs from 1°12′ to 12°49′ of Leo, which keeps it inside a single nakshatra for the entire month: Magha, whose lord is Ketu, and which ends at 13°20′. Your ruler finishes May thirty-one arc-minutes short of leaving it. That is a whole month of your ruler in Ketu’s star, in your fifth house, while Ketu itself sits in your fourth — a quiet, slightly detached signature for creative work, and a good one for finishing something rather than launching it.
Mars in the fifth is also the house of children and of risk. It is direct, it is in a friendly sign, and it is not aspected by Saturn this month. For a Mesha reader this is the most comfortable your ruler has been since the debilitation and retrograde of March: use it. Your Tuesdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 May — are the natural days for anything that needs your own initiative behind it.
Venus Comes to Your Sign on 10 May, and Loses Its Exaltation Doing It
Venus is exalted in Pisces in your twelfth house until 8:45 am on Monday 10 May, when it enters Aries, your first house, and Ashwini. Exaltation is left behind at that instant — Venus in Aries is in the sign of Mars, which is not its comfort — but the house improves dramatically. Twelfth-house Venus spends and rests; first-house Venus is charm, appearance, and other people wanting to deal with you.
Before it goes, it meets Saturn. Venus is exact with Saturn at 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May at 27°08′ of Pisces — in your twelfth house, and inside the same gandanta Saturn is crossing. Exalted Venus with Saturn is an expensive kindness: a genuine comfort bought at a real price, or a duty to someone older that costs money and is worth doing anyway. It is the sharpest single point of the twelfth-house story this month.
One forward-looking number, because it decides more than May does. Venus’s angular distance from the Sun closes from about 27° on 1 May to under 20° by the 31st, and it keeps closing: on 6 July 2027 it falls inside 10° and Shukra asta — Venus combust — closes the marriage calendar until 17 September. That is why May and June matter so much. The 82-day open run ends there, not arbitrarily.
Exalted Jupiter Pulls Away from Ketu in Your Fourth
Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, your fourth house of home, mother and property, and it moves 2°55′ all month — from 23°14′ to 26°09′, crossing from the second pada of Ashlesha into the third. Ketu is in the same house, drifting backwards from 22°16′ to 20°37′.
The two were exact on 20 April. On 1 May they are 58 arc-minutes apart; by 31 May they are 5°32′ apart. Guru-Chandal — Jupiter with Ketu — is a configuration that muddles judgement and makes good advice feel suspect, and this month is when it separates. Whatever domestic or property question felt unreadable in April becomes readable in May, and the improvement is gradual rather than dated: it is a gap widening, not an event.
Mercury Crosses Three Houses in One Month
Mercury is the fastest thing in the sky this month, covering 50°11′ — from 18°10′ of Aries to 8°21′ of Gemini. It leaves your first house for your second at 12:34 pm on Thursday 6 May and reaches its own sign, Gemini, in your third house at 6:28 pm on Sunday 23 May.
It also comes out of the Sun’s glare. Mercury was exact with the Sun on 29 April, so it opens May less than three degrees from it and is still burnt through the first week. The gap reaches 14° on about 11 May and widens to nearly 23° by the 27th, its maximum for the month. Read the first week as a poor week for negotiation and paperwork, the second as recovering, and the fortnight from the 15th as the clear one — Mercury out of combustion, in your second and then third house, in its own sign from the 23rd. That is the best correspondence, contract and short-travel window May offers you.
The Month’s Fixed Points
- Tuesday 4 May, 10:50 pm — Mercury enters Krittika, still in your first house.
- 5 May 3:14 am to 7 May 6:55 am — the Moon is on Mesha Rashi. Your Chandra days, and the New Moon falls inside them.
- Thursday 6 May, 12:34 pm — Mercury leaves your first house for your second.
- Thursday 6 May, 4:28 pm — the New Moon forms on your own sign at 21°30′ of Aries, in Bharani pada 3, under four hours after Mercury’s ingress. That day’s panchang.
- Saturday 8 May, 12:18 am — Venus is exact with Saturn at 27°08′ of Pisces, in your twelfth house.
- Monday 10 May, 8:45 am — Venus enters Aries and Ashwini, on your own sign, leaving its exaltation.
- Wednesday 12 May, 1:22 am — the exalted Sun enters Krittika, its last nakshatra in your first house.
- Saturday 15 May, 12:14 pm — the Sun enters Taurus and your second house. Vrishabha Sankranti, and the end of the Sun–Mars exchange. Panchang for the day.
- Thursday 20 May, 4:29 pm — the Full Moon fills your eighth house at 5°00′ of Scorpio, in Anuradha pada 1 — fourteen days and one minute after the New Moon.
- Friday 21 May, 8:00 am — Venus enters Bharani, still on your sign.
- Sunday 23 May, 6:28 pm — Mercury reaches Gemini, its own sign, in your third house.
- Tuesday 25 May, 9:39 pm — the Sun enters Rohini, in your second house.
- Saturday 29 May, 10:20 pm — Mercury enters Ardra in your third house.
- 3 June 2027 — Saturn enters Aries. Sade Sati’s second phase begins on your own sign.
Week by Week
Thirty-one days, Saturday to Monday, which gives five Saturdays, five Sundays and five Mondays and only four of everything else. Mars rules Mesha Rashi, so your day is Tuesday: 4, 11, 18 and 25 May. The five Saturdays — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 — carry more weight than usual, because Saturn is in your twelfth house for the last full month.
1–7 May
The exalted Sun and Mercury both start on your own sign, and Mercury is still burnt by the Sun from their contact on 29 April — so the week feels energetic and reads badly. Do not sign in it. Saturn crosses into the gandanta in the first days. Mercury leaves for your second house at 12:34 pm on Thursday the 6th and the New Moon forms on your rashi four hours later at 4:28 pm, inside your Chandra days, which run from 3:14 am on Wednesday the 5th to 6:55 am on Friday the 7th. A new moon on the Moon sign is the cleanest reset the month gives you.
8–14 May
The week opens on the twelfth house at its sharpest: Venus is exact with Saturn at 12:18 am on Saturday the 8th, in the first hour of the day. Expect a cost, a duty, or a kindness that is not free. Then it lifts — Venus reaches your own sign at 8:45 am on Monday the 10th, and Mercury clears the Sun’s glare by about the 11th. The last three days of the week are the strongest of the month for a first conversation, with the exalted Sun and Venus both on Mesha Rashi.
15–21 May
The pivot week. At 12:14 pm on Saturday the 15th the Sun leaves your sign for your second house and the exchange with Mars ends. From that afternoon the month is about money and speech rather than initiative. The Full Moon fills your eighth house at 4:29 pm on Thursday the 20th — the house of joint finances, insurance, inheritance and what is hidden — which makes the second half of that week the right time to look at a shared account or a loan rather than to open one.
22–28 May
The best administrative week of the month. Mercury reaches its own sign in your third house at 6:28 pm on Sunday the 23rd and is at its widest from the Sun on the 27th, nearly 23°. Contracts, correspondence, siblings, short journeys and anything that needs a clear head belong here. The Sun enters Rohini in your second house at 9:39 pm on Tuesday the 25th.
29–31 May
Three days, and they are a threshold rather than a week. Mercury enters Ardra at 10:20 pm on Saturday the 29th. The month closes on Monday the 31st with Saturn at 29°47′ of Pisces, thirteen arc-minutes from your sign — and it crosses at 3 June. Finish what the twelfth house has been draining before then; do not carry it into June.
Career and Money for Mesha Rashi
Your tenth house is Capricorn and it holds Rahu all month, moving from 22°16′ to 20°37′ and staying in the fourth pada of Shravana from the first day to the last. There is no nakshatra change and no station: this is the flattest Rahu month you have had in a while, which for a tenth-house Rahu is good news. Ambition without a new hook to chase is ambition that can be organised.
The career shape is the Sun’s. Exalted on your rashi to the 15th, it aspects your seventh house and puts you in front of people; in your second from the 15th, it turns the same visibility into a conversation about compensation. If you want a raise or a revised contract, raise it in the fortnight after the Sankranti, with Mercury out of combustion and in its own sign from the 23rd. See our career remedies page for the standing observances.
Money has two sides this month. The second house receives the Sun from the 15th and Mercury from the 6th to the 23rd, which is favourable for earning and for negotiating. The twelfth house still holds Saturn and, until the 10th, an exalted Venus — and the Venus–Saturn contact on the 8th is where the month’s largest single outgo is most likely to sit. Budget the first ten days generously and the last twenty tightly. Our financial remedies page covers the rest.
Home, Family and Partnership
The fourth house holds exalted Jupiter and Ketu, and the story is the gap between them widening from 58 arc-minutes to 5°32′. Jupiter exalted in the house of home is protective; Ketu there has made the home feel provisional. As they separate, the protective half becomes legible again. Jupiter stays in Cancer until 26 June 2027, so this improvement has room to run.
Partnership is dated by the Sun rather than by a planet in the seventh. Your seventh house, Libra, is empty all month. But the exalted Sun on your first house until the 15th aspects it directly, and Venus joins your first house on the 10th — so between 10 and 15 May both the Sun and Venus sit on Mesha Rashi facing the seventh. For a Mesha reader looking at marriage, engagement or a partnership agreement, that is the strongest five-day window in the month, and every one of those days is open. The marriage muhurat page for May 2027 lists the qualifying dates, griha pravesh works the housewarming arithmetic, and the vehicle page covers a purchase.
One caution about the Full Moon. It fills your eighth house at 4:29 pm on Thursday 20 May at 5°00′ of Scorpio, in the first pada of Anuradha, and the Moon is in Scorpio from 7:02 am on the 20th to 4:50 pm on Saturday the 22nd. Eighth-house lunations lift things that were being kept quiet — a shared debt, a family secret, an old resentment. Nothing about the transit says it will go badly; it says it will come up.
Health
Two things point the same way. Saturn in the twelfth is the classic depletion transit — not illness, but a body running on less than it needs — and it is at its most concentrated on the 8th, when Venus meets it there. Meanwhile the exalted Sun on your rashi until the 15th makes you feel capable of more than you have. That combination is how a Mesha reader gets ill: not from weakness, but from confidence.
The useful window is your Chandra days, from 3:14 am on Wednesday 5 May to 6:55 am on Friday 7 May, with the New Moon inside them — the best two days of the month for beginning a regimen, a diet or a course of treatment. Mars direct in your fifth in Magha all month favours steady physical work over intensity. And after the 15th, when the Sun moves to your second house, the throat, mouth and teeth are the parts of the second house that ask for attention.
Remedies for Mesha Rashi in May 2027
Four conditions: Sade Sati’s first phase in its last full month with Saturn in the gandanta, an exalted Sun leaving your rashi at the Sankranti, your ruler in Ketu’s nakshatra all month, and exalted Venus meeting Saturn in your twelfth on the 8th.
- Saturday observance for Shani — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 May: five Saturdays, and the last full month of Saturn in your twelfth. Sesame oil, black til, a peepal lamp after sundown, something given to someone who works with their hands. The 8th matters most, because Venus meets Saturn in the first hour of it. Forms on the Shani remedies page and Saturday fasting.
- Surya arghya until 15 May: water offered to the rising Sun while it is still exalted on your own sign. This is the last fortnight of the year in which your Sun remedy works with the transit rather than against it; continue it after the Sankranti if you can, but the first fifteen days are the ones that count.
- Hanuman worship on the Tuesdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 May: Mars rules your sign and holds your fifth house in Magha, Ketu’s star, for the whole month. Red flowers, sindoor, Hanuman Chalisa after sunset. See the Mangal remedies page and Tuesday fasting.
- Guru worship on the Thursdays — 6, 13, 20 and 27 May: exalted Jupiter is separating from Ketu in your fourth house, which is the month’s quiet good news. Turmeric, chana dal, yellow given to a teacher rather than kept. See weak-Jupiter remedies and Thursday fasting.
- Shukra observance on Friday 7 May: the Friday immediately before Venus meets Saturn, while Venus is still exalted. White cloth, rice and ghee, something fragrant offered rather than worn. See Shukra remedies and Friday fasting.
- Ketu observance in the fourth house: Ketu sits with exalted Jupiter in your house of home all month. Something given away rather than stored, and a lamp for the household deity. See Ketu remedies and our Rahu-Ketu page.
- Begin between the 10th and the 15th: the practical use of the reading rather than a ritual. Every day of May is open, and those six days carry the exalted Sun and Venus together on Mesha Rashi with Mercury out of combustion. For paperwork specifically, wait for the 23rd.
- Close the twelfth-house business before 3 June: the loan, the subscription, the medical bill, the obligation you have been carrying. Saturn reaches your own sign that day, and it is far easier to end something in the twelfth than to end it in the first.
In Summary
For Mesha Rashi, May 2027 is a good month standing in front of a hard one. The exalted Sun is on your own sign until 12:14 pm on Saturday 15 May, exchanging signs with your ruler for the whole of that fortnight; the New Moon forms on your rashi at 4:28 pm on Thursday the 6th inside your Chandra days; and every one of the 31 days is open, inside the longest open run — 82 days, 15 April to 5 July — that our tables contain.
The hard one is dated. Saturn ends May at 29°47′ of Pisces, thirteen arc-minutes from Aries, and enters your sign on 3 June 2027, when Sade Sati’s second and heaviest phase begins. Everything you can finish in the twelfth house — a cost, a distance, an obligation, a treatment — is easier finished in May than in June.
Two dates to keep free, for opposite reasons. 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May, when exalted Venus meets Saturn in your twelfth house inside the gandanta, is the month’s most expensive hour. And 10 to 15 May, with both the Sun and Venus on Mesha Rashi facing your empty seventh, is its best window for anything that needs another person to say yes. All of this is sign-level; which of the nine Aries padas holds your natal Moon, and where Saturn sits in your own chart, decides how much of it lands. For more, read April’s reading, what Mesha Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our Sade Sati page.
Saturn reaches Mesha Rashi on 3 June 2027
Whether Sade Sati’s second phase lands on your career, your health or your household depends on your natal Saturn, your dasha and your Moon’s pada — not on the rashi alone.
