Scorpio Rashifal May 2027 (Vrishchika Rashi): The Full Moon Lands on Your Sign at 4:29 pm on 20 May
Published 2026-08-21 | Live Pandit Ji
One instant in May 2027 belongs to Vrishchika Rashi and to nothing else: 4:29 pm on Thursday 20 May, when the Moon reaches opposition with the Sun at 5°00′ of Scorpio, in the first pada of Anuradha. The Full Moon of the month forms on your own sign, five degrees into it, almost exactly on the degree.
And it forms inside your Chandra days. The Moon reaches Scorpio at 7:02 am on Thursday 20 May and leaves at 4:50 pm on Saturday 22 May — so the lunation lands nine and a half hours into a window that runs almost sixty hours. For a water sign ruled by Mars, that is the emotional high-water mark of the month, and it is not subtle.
The second thing to know is where your ruler is. Mars spends every day of May in Leo, which is your tenth house — and the tenth is the house where Mars has digbala, directional strength. It is the single best positional advantage your ruler can hold, and it holds it for the whole month.
A Full Moon on the Rashi: What It Actually Means
The Full Moon is the Moon at maximum illumination, which happens when it sits opposite the Sun. On 20 May the Sun is at 5°00′ of Taurus, in your seventh house, and the Moon is at 5°00′ of Scorpio, on your first. So the axis that is lit is the one between you and everybody else — your own position fully illuminated, and the other side of every relationship illuminated with it.
Anuradha, where it forms, is Saturn’s nakshatra in Mars’s sign, which is a demanding combination and a durable one: it is the nakshatra of steady devotion to a difficult thing. A Full Moon in its first pada is not a celebration. It is clarity, arriving whether or not you asked for it, about something you have been carrying.
It is also fourteen days and one minute after the New Moon, which formed at 4:28 pm on Thursday 6 May at 21°30′ of Aries in your sixth house. Two Thursdays, two lunations, one minute apart in clock time and half a zodiac apart in position. The month is bracketed unusually neatly.
Your Ruler Has Directional Strength All Month
Mars begins May at 1°12′ of Leo and ends at 12°49′ — 11°37′ in thirty-one days, about half its normal pace, because it is still recovering speed after its long retrograde earlier in the year. It stays inside Magha from the first day to the last, crossing all four padas and finishing thirty-one arc-minutes short of leaving the nakshatra. It entered Leo on 26 April 2027 and does not leave for Virgo until 4:24 am on 5 July 2027.
Digbala is the doctrine that each planet is strongest in a particular direction of the chart: the Sun and Mars in the tenth house, Jupiter and Mercury in the first, Venus and the Moon in the fourth, Saturn in the seventh. Mars in the tenth is therefore your ruler at its positional best, in the house of profession, for a full month. The practical form is straightforward: initiative at work gets results in May in a way it does not usually.
The qualification is Magha, which is ruled by Ketu and by the pitrs. It gives the tenth-house Mars a particular flavour — authority inherited rather than earned, or a professional position that carries an obligation to someone older. And Mars is slow, so nothing about this is quick. It is a month of pressure applied steadily, which is unusual for Mars and suits it better than speed does.
Saturn’s Last Full Month in Your Fifth House
Saturn spends May in Pisces, your fifth house of children, learning, creativity and the mind’s pleasures, moving from 26°18′ to 29°47′ — thirteen arc-minutes from the end of the zodiac. It crosses from the third pada of Revati into the fourth in the first days of the month, and that fourth pada is the gandanta: the unstable junction formed by the last 3°20′ of Pisces and the first 3°20′ of Aries. Saturn is inside it all May. At 0.11° a day the pada crossing is worth a day, not a minute.
Saturn in the fifth is one of its heavier placements: it makes enjoyment work, delays matters concerning children, and turns creative effort into labour. It ends on 3 June 2027, when Saturn enters Aries and your sixth house — which for Saturn is a promotion. In the sixth it grinds down enemies, debts and diseases instead of your pleasures. So this particular ending is straightforwardly good news, and it is three days after the month closes.
It does not arrive in one step: Saturn turns retrograde in Aries on 9 August 2027, returns to Pisces and your fifth house on 20 October 2027, and turns direct there on 24 December 2027. But the direction is set. Our Shani dosh page covers what Saturn does in these positions.
Exalted Venus in the Fifth, Exact With Saturn on 8 May
Venus begins May exalted in Pisces at 18°38′, in that same fifth house, and is exact with Saturn at 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May, at 27°08′ of Pisces, inside the gandanta. Exalted Venus meeting Saturn in the fifth house is the month’s most interesting minute for you: grace at maximum strength arriving in the house Saturn has been making austere.
Read it as a creative or personal matter that has been stalled becoming possible — news about a child, a piece of work resuming, a romance surviving a test. Venus then leaves exaltation at 8:45 am on Monday 10 May, entering Aries and Ashwini in your sixth house, and enters Bharani at 8:00 am on Friday 21 May. Venus in the sixth is workplace goodwill and, for a Mars-ruled sign, a rare stretch of not needing to fight.
The Sankranti Puts the Sun in Your Seventh House
The Sun is exalted in Aries, in your sixth house, until 12:14 pm on Saturday 15 May — a strong, combative placement that wins arguments and makes enemies at the same rate. It enters Krittika at 1:22 am on Wednesday 12 May, then crosses at Vrishabha Sankranti into Taurus and your seventh house, and enters Rohini at 9:39 pm on Tuesday 25 May.
The Sun in the seventh house is the other person taking up more room than usual, and it is the position it holds when the Full Moon lights your rashi on the 20th. Mercury makes the same crossing earlier, entering Taurus and your seventh at 12:34 pm on Thursday 6 May and Gemini and your eighth at 6:28 pm on Sunday 23 May. Mercury covers 50°11′ in May, more than any other body, and opens the month combust, having been exact with the Sun at 2:51 am on 29 April; the gap reaches 14° on about the 11th and nearly 23° by the 27th. Sign nothing with a partner in the first week.
Every Day of May Is Open
No closure falls anywhere in the month — no Kharmas, no Holashtak, no Chaturmas, no Adhika Maas, and neither Jupiter nor Venus combust. All 31 days are open, inside an unbroken run of 82 open days from 15 April to 5 July 2027, the longest in the two years our tables cover. The run ends because Venus goes combust on 6 July 2027 and stays combust until 17 September, which closes the marriage calendar for that whole stretch.
For Vrishchika Rashi the useful consequence is that the Full Moon on your own sign falls in a fully open month, in the middle of the longest clear run of two years. If there is something you have been waiting to formalise, the calendar is not the obstacle. See the May 2027 marriage muhurat page, griha pravesh, vehicle purchase and business and property.

Week by Week
Thirty-one days, Saturday to Monday, so five Saturdays, five Sundays and five Mondays and four of everything else. Mars rules Vrishchika Rashi, so your day is Tuesday: 4, 11, 18 and 25 May — and every one of them catches your ruler in the house where it is directionally strongest.
1–7 May
A combative week and a poor one for documents. The exalted Sun is in your sixth house, which wins fights; Mercury is combust in the same house at the start, having been exact with the Sun on 29 April, and moves to your seventh at 12:34 pm on Thursday the 6th. The New Moon forms in your sixth four hours later, at 4:28 pm — a good reset for work, debt and health, and a poor moment to formalise anything. Tuesday the 4th is your first Mars day, with your ruler at 1° of Leo.
8–14 May
The gentlest week of the month. Exalted Venus is exact with Saturn in your fifth house in the first hour of Saturday the 8th, at 12:18 am — the best minute of May for something creative or concerning a child. Venus then moves to your sixth at 8:45 am on Monday the 10th, and Mercury clears the Sun’s glare around the 11th. From Wednesday the 12th the week is workable for paperwork.
15–21 May
Your week. At 12:14 pm on Saturday the 15th the Sun crosses into your seventh house; the Moon reaches your own sign at 7:02 am on Thursday the 20th; and the Full Moon forms on Vrishchika Rashi at 4:29 pm that same day, at 5°00′, in Anuradha pada 1. Expect the week to be emotionally loud and unusually clear. It is the best week of May for saying the thing you have not said.
22–28 May
The Chandra window closes at 4:50 pm on Saturday the 22nd. Mercury enters your eighth house at 6:28 pm on Sunday the 23rd — the house Vrishchika Rashi knows best — and reaches its widest separation from the Sun on the 27th at nearly 23°. The Sun enters Rohini in your seventh at 9:39 pm on Tuesday the 25th. Research, investigation and anything hidden go well in this week.
29–31 May
Three days with your ruler still directionally strong in your tenth house and Saturn thirteen arc-minutes from leaving your fifth. Mercury enters Ardra at 10:20 pm on Saturday the 29th. Saturn moves to your sixth house on 3 June, which lifts a weight off children, creativity and enjoyment that has been there for about two years.
Career and Money for Vrishchika Rashi
Career is the strong part of this month and the reason is your ruler’s position: Mars in your tenth house, with digbala, for all 31 days. It is slow — 11°37′ in the month — so results come from sustained pressure rather than from a decisive stroke, and Magha gives the whole thing an inherited or obligated quality. But initiative works in May, and your four Tuesdays are the natural days for it.
Money runs through the ninth and the eighth. Exalted Jupiter sits in your ninth house of fortune with Ketu, and the two are separating: 58 arc-minutes apart on 1 May, 5°32′ by the 31st, with Jupiter moving only 2°55′ and staying in Ashlesha throughout. That reads as luck and good counsel becoming usable again after a confusing April. Mercury enters your eighth house on the 23rd, which is the month’s best window for a loan, a settlement or anything involving other people’s money. Rahu holds your third house in Capricorn all month, from 22°16′ to 20°37′, in Shravana pada 4 with no nakshatra change. See our financial remedies page.
Home, Family and Partnership
The Full Moon on your rashi on the 20th sits opposite the Sun in your seventh house, which makes the partnership axis the emotional centre of the month. For a sign that habitually keeps things to itself, a Full Moon on the first house is the one configuration that makes withholding difficult — and that is generally to your advantage, particularly with the Sun lighting the other side at the same time.
Your fourth house, Aquarius, is empty, and its lord Saturn is in your fifth all month. So home is quiet and the pressure is on the fifth house instead: children, study, creative work, enjoyment. Saturn leaving that house on 3 June is the domestic good news of the season, and exalted Venus meeting Saturn there at 12:18 am on the 8th is its first instalment.
The calendar is fully open, and the constraint on a marriage decision is Venus going combust on 6 July 2027 until 17 September. See the May 2027 marriage muhurat page and, if children are the live question, child samskaras.
Health
The Full Moon on your own sign is the month’s health marker, and for a water sign it is felt as intensity rather than illness: sleep disturbed around the 20th, emotion running higher than usual, and a tendency to make a permanent decision in a temporary state. The window from 7:02 am on 20 May to 4:50 pm on 22 May is the one to be careful in.
Vrishchika Rashi governs the reproductive and eliminative systems, and Mars — your ruler — governs blood and inflammation. Mars in your tenth house is not a health placement, but the exalted Sun in your sixth house until 12:14 pm on the 15th, with exalted Venus joining it from the 10th, is genuinely favourable for treating anything ongoing. The first fortnight is the window for a diagnosis or a course of treatment; the Chandra days from the 20th are for beginning a regimen you intend to keep.
Remedies for Vrishchika Rashi in May 2027
Four conditions: the Full Moon on your own sign at 4:29 pm on the 20th, your ruler holding your tenth house with digbala for all 31 days in Magha, Saturn’s last full month in your fifth house, and exalted Venus meeting Saturn there on the 8th.
- Hanuman worship on the Tuesdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 May: the central remedy of the month. Mars rules your sign and sits in your tenth house with directional strength for every day of it. Red flowers, sindoor, Hanuman Chalisa after sunset. See the Mangal remedies page, Tuesday fasting and our Mangal dosh page.
- Keep the Full Moon of 20 May: a Full Moon on the rashi is the one lunation of the year that is unambiguously yours. White, water, rice, and something given away rather than kept. It forms at 4:29 pm; the whole window from 7:02 am on the 20th to 4:50 pm on the 22nd carries it.
- Saturday observance for Shani — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 May: five Saturdays in Saturn’s last full month in your fifth house, and the 8th carries the exact Venus contact in its first hour. Sesame oil, black til, a peepal lamp after sundown. See the Shani remedies page and Saturday fasting.
- Shukra observance on Friday 7 May: the one Friday of the month that catches Venus exalted in your fifth house, the day before it meets Saturn. White cloth, rice and ghee. Continue on 14, 21 and 28 May — see Shukra remedies and Friday fasting.
- Use the tenth house while your ruler is in it: the practical remedy rather than a ritual. Mars has digbala in your tenth house until 5 July and it does not recur soon. The approach, the ask, the initiative — make it inside that window and preferably on a Tuesday.
- Something for the pitrs: Mars sits in Magha, the ancestral nakshatra, in your career house for a full month. An obligation from an older generation attaching to your professional life is the characteristic form. Water, black til, and food given without announcement. See our Pitra dosh page.
- Guru worship on the Thursdays — 6, 13, 20 and 27 May: exalted Jupiter is separating from Ketu in your ninth house of fortune, and the 20th is the Full Moon on your sign. Turmeric, chana dal, yellow given to a teacher. See weak-Jupiter remedies and Thursday fasting.
- Do not decide anything permanent on the 20th or 21st: the honest remedy for a Full Moon on your own sign. Say the thing; postpone the decision by three days.
In Summary
For Vrishchika Rashi, May 2027 has one instant that is entirely yours: 4:29 pm on Thursday 20 May, when the Full Moon forms at 5°00′ of Scorpio, on your own sign, in the first pada of Anuradha — opposite the Sun in your seventh house, and inside a Chandra window that runs from 7:02 am on the 20th to 4:50 pm on Saturday the 22nd. It is fourteen days and one minute after the New Moon in your sixth house.
Underneath that, your ruler is in the best positional condition it can hold. Mars sits in your tenth house — where Mars has digbala — for all 31 days, moving only 11°37′ and never leaving Magha, and it stays there until 5 July. Slow, strong and obligated: initiative works this month, but through pressure rather than speed.
Saturn spends its last full month in your fifth house, ending at 29°47′ of Pisces inside the Pisces gandanta, with exalted Venus exact upon it at 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May; it moves to your sixth house — a real improvement — on 3 June 2027. Every day of the month is open, inside the longest open run our tables hold. All of it is sign-level: which of the nine Scorpio padas holds your natal Moon, and where Mars and the Moon sit in your own chart, decides how much lands. For more, read April’s reading, what Vrishchika Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our Mangal dosh page.
A Full Moon on your own sign, and Saturn leaving your fifth house
Whether the lunation of 20 May lands on your natal Moon, and what Saturn’s move on 3 June frees up, depends on your own chart — your dasha and which pada of Scorpio holds your Moon.
