Why Capricorn and Capricorn Take All 13 — and Why That Is Not the Finding
Bhakoot reads nothing but the distance between the two Moon signs. Four of the seven distances pay the full 7 and 1/1 is one of them; the three that pay nothing are the axes Capricorn forms with Sagittarius and Aquarius (2/12), with Taurus and Virgo (5/9), and with Gemini and Leo (6/8). None of those six can be reached by pairing Capricorn with itself, so the 7 here is arithmetic rather than assessment.
Graha Maitri exists to catch a pair whose sign lords dislike each other, so for Capricorn the question is who Saturn dislikes. Saturn counts Sun, Moon and Mars natural enemies, so it is Capricorn matched with Aries, Cancer, Leo or Scorpio where this koota actually bites. With Saturn on both sides there is no second lord and so nothing to weigh, and the test returns its maximum for the simplest reason available to it.
Varna is read from the element alone, and Capricorn is earth, which makes both partners Vaishya — merchant — practical, provident — rank 2 of 4, below Brahmin and Kshatriya and above Shudra. The test normally pays 1 only when the man’s rank equals or exceeds the woman’s, and that condition is what decides the score for 54 of the 66 pairs of different signs. Here it is Vaishya on both sides, so the direction stops mattering.
Which is why Capricorn with Capricorn lands on 13 of 13 and so does every other same-rashi pair, and why the total is the least informative thing on this page. A test that returns one answer to twelve different questions has not distinguished between them. What does distinguish them is Saturn’s own standing in Capricorn — own sign, which no koota scores — and what doubling Capricorn’s particular element and mobility does to two people.
The other 23 guna cannot appear on this page, because they need both birth nakshatras and those need two birth times. A shared Capricorn Moon narrows the field to three birth stars instead of 27 — a real narrowing, and not an answer.

The Three Kootas Two Capricorn Moons Can Settle / राशि कूट
One rashi counted from itself is the 1st in both directions, so the axis is 1/1 and Bhakoot pays in full. The pairings it zeroes are Capricorn with Sagittarius, Aquarius, Taurus, Virgo, Gemini and Leo — and a sign forms none of those with itself.
Saturn rules both charts, and a shared lord is the strongest of the six results this koota returns. It is also the standard cancellation for Bhakoot dosha — which this pair has no use for, since 1/1 is not one of the afflicted axes.
Both partners are Vaishya, rank 2 of 4, because Capricorn is earth and Varna is read from the element alone. One rank on both sides means the usual question of whose rank is higher never arises.
The 1/1 Axis, for Two Capricorn Charts / एक ही राशि
Two charts in the same rashi share an outlook so completely that there is nothing to negotiate and nothing to learn. The classics award the full 7 and then warn that the pair reinforces each other's weaknesses as readily as their strengths.
Worth being precise about what that warning is not. It is not a dosha, nothing needs cancelling, and 1/1 keeps company with the three most workable axes in the scheme. The caution is about a missing counterweight, and for Capricorn the missing counterweight is specific: no partner whose instinct is to sit still, and nothing lighter in the room. Ten of the eleven pages where Capricorn meets a different sign bring one of those two in from the other side. The eleventh is Virgo: earth as well, so nothing lighter arrives there either, and dual where the counterweight would have to be fixed.
What Doubling Capricorn Looks Like
Two partners who are serious about commitment and undemonstrative about it, building a home and a position rather than performing a romance. This pair warms over years and is routinely underestimated in its first three.
What this pair is unusually good at
Respect is mutual and earned rather than assumed, responsibility is taken by both without being allocated, and neither partner needs the relationship narrated to believe in it. A shared Saturn makes the long view a genuine agreement rather than one person's discipline imposed on the other.
What specifically goes wrong
Work wins the argument against the relationship twice over — there is no partner here whose instinct is to insist on the evening off, so a shared life quietly becomes a shared schedule. Both are reserved, both are quietly critical, and both are slow to say what they actually need, so each spends years inferring and inferring wrongly.
Neither column is a prediction and neither carries a score. They describe what happens when a trait has no opposite in the room, which is the one thing a shared rashi does genuinely guarantee — unlike the 13 guna above, which it guarantees for eleven other pairs as well.
Saturn in Capricorn — the One Thing That Varies Across the Twelve
Guna Milan never asks how the sign lord itself stands. For two different signs that question has two answers, one in each direction; for two of the same sign it has one, and that single answer is the only classical fact separating these twelve pages. Across the twelve it comes out three ways — one exaltation, five moolatrikonas and six plain ownerships — and this page is one of the six.
Lord of both charts · स्वक्षेत्र · ownership, without a stronger dignity
Saturn rules Capricorn, so a shared Capricorn Moon puts the lord of both charts in its own sign: unforced, at ease, answerable to nobody. What it is not is Saturn's best. Capricorn carries neither Saturn's exaltation nor its moolatrikona — those are Libra and Aquarius — so this is one of the six same-rashi pairs where the shared lord is comfortable rather than strong.
The same graha, its other rashi
Saturn rules two signs and does not stand the same way in both. In Capricorn it is own sign; in Aquarius it is moolatrikona (0°–20°). Every koota reads the two pairs identically — 13 of 13, Bhakoot 7, Graha Maitri 5, Varna 1 — so this is the whole of what separates them, and it favours Aquarius.
Aquarius & Aquarius — the other doubled Saturn pair →A dignity is not a guna and no score attaches to it. It says how comfortably the lord of both charts sits in the rashi both Moons occupy — the kind of thing an astrologer reads and a compatibility percentage has no way to hold. In a real match it would be weighed against where Saturn actually falls in each chart, how strong it is there, and which dasha is running.
Doubled Earth, Doubled Chara — the Combination Only Capricorn Has
Capricorn is the movable earth sign and the only rashi that is both, which is the combination that builds: earth for the substance, movable for the ambition to keep starting. Doubled, this pair achieves a great deal and finds it unusually hard to stop achieving long enough to enjoy any of it.
Earth is also Taurus and Virgo; Chara is also Aries, Cancer and Libra. That is what makes this pair’s position unusual rather than merely similar. Capricorn with Taurus still puts two different mobilities in the room; Capricorn with Aries still puts two elements there. Only Capricorn with Capricorn puts neither, and that is the precise sense in which these twelve pages describe something the other 66 do not.
Neither element nor mobility carries any guna. Element decides what a sign cares about, mobility decides how immovably it holds it, and the twelve rashis are exactly the twelve combinations of the two — four elements by three mobilities, none repeated and none missing. So Capricorn is the only rashi that is both earth and movable, and this is the only pair in the zodiac that can double that combination.
The Same Rashi Is Not the Same Nakshatra
A rashi spans 30° and a nakshatra 13°20′, and the two do not divide evenly, so Capricorn holds parts of exactly three birth stars and nine padas — split 3, 4 and 2 between them. Two Capricorn Moons therefore have three candidates rather than 27 — a real narrowing, and nowhere near enough to settle the four kootas that depend on the nakshatra. Those four are worth 21 of the 36 guna between them, more than the 13 on this page.
| Nakshatra | Padas here | Dasha lord | Gana | Nadi | Yoni |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Uttara Ashadha | 3 of 4 | Sun | Manushya | Antya | Mongoose |
| Shravana | 4 of 4 | Moon | Deva | Antya | Monkey |
| Dhanishta | 2 of 4 | Mars | Rakshasa | Madhya | Lion |
Uttara Ashadha and Dhanishta are each cut by a rashi boundary, so Capricorn holds only part of both — which is why the three are not equal thirds. Capricorn holds a Deva nakshatra and a Rakshasa one, so Gana — 6 guna, and the koota that scores differently depending on which partner holds which — can come out anywhere from 0 to 6 of 6 for two Capricorn Moons. The three carry Antya and Madhya nadi between them, so two of them do share a nadi and Nadi's 8 guna turns on which pair of birth stars it is. Yoni draws on three different animal symbols here, and the opening mahadasha follows the nakshatra rather than the sign: Sun, Moon, Mars are the three lords a Capricorn Moon can start life under, and their periods are not the same length.
Capricorn in a Relationship
Capricorn is not demonstrative and is deeply serious about commitment. It shows love by building — a home, a future, a stable position — and it treats the relationship as something to be maintained rather than performed.
What it needs
Respect, a partner who takes responsibility seriously, and time. Capricorn warms over years, not weeks.
Where it goes wrong
The reserve reads as coldness, and work reliably wins the argument against the relationship. Capricorn is also quietly critical and slow to say what it actually needs, so the partner is left inferring.
Capricorn horoscope and monthly rashifal →Read That Column Twice
On the other 66 pages that profile sits next to a different one and the reader compares the two. Here there is nothing to compare it with, which is the finding rather than an omission: what Capricorn needs is what Capricorn is being asked to supply, and what goes wrong for Capricorn arrives from both directions at once.
So read the friction line as a description of the room rather than of a person. It is not a difficulty this pair negotiates its way through, because the negotiating position is identical on both sides of the table — two Vaishya charts, both Chara, both answering to Saturn.
That is not a verdict, and nothing here says the match is a poor one. It is the reason the honest recommendation for a same-rashi match is a full nakshatra reading instead of a number.
The Opposite Case: Capricorn and Cancer
If 1/1 is the axis with nothing to negotiate, 7/7 is the one where everything is negotiated. Cancer sits in Capricorn’s 7th house — the house of marriage itself — is water against Capricorn’s earth, answers to Moon rather than Saturn, and holds precisely what Capricorn does not. Bhakoot pays that axis the same 7 it pays this one, which is a useful reminder that the koota is not measuring similarity.

A shared Capricorn Moon leaves Gana, Nadi, Yoni and Tara entirely open — 21 guna, more than the 13 scored above — and all four need both birth nakshatras, which need birth time and place. Mangal dosha and the state of the 7th house sit outside Guna Milan altogether.
