How to Wear It

1. Fix the weight first — roughly one ratti per ten kilograms of body weight, three to five ratti minimum. Confirm whether your jeweller means the 0.9-carat ratti or the traditional 0.12-gram one.
2. Set it in platinum / white gold with the back left open so the stone rests on the skin. A closed bezel is held to block the graha.
3. Wash the ring in raw milk, honey, ghee, curd and clean water, then place it before Lakshmi.
4. Chant ॐ द्रां द्रीं द्रौं सः शुक्राय नमः — Om Draam Dreem Draum Sah Shukraya Namah — 16,000 times, or have the japa performed for you.
5. Wear it on the middle finger of the right hand, first thing on Friday morning.
6. Fast on Friday and observe the stone for the first thirty days.

What a Libra Ascendant Should Avoid

• Yellow Sapphire — Jupiter rules the 3rd and the 6th
• Ruby — the Sun rules the 11th

Saturn is the yogakaraka for a Libra ascendant, owning the 4th and the 5th, so blue sapphire is a genuine recommendation here rather than the hazard it is for most signs. Diamond with blue sapphire is the Libra combination; both grahas are friends.

Care: Lab-grown diamonds are chemically identical but tradition holds that only natural stones transmit the graha, so they are not used.

Three nakshatras touch Libra, each with its own lord and its own stone. Selecting by janma nakshatra is the more precise route — it pins the birth Moon to one of those three segments rather than to all thirty degrees — but it needs a birth time, which is why the sign table is the one everybody sees. The three are not equal thirds; each takes one to four of the nine padas of 3°20′ that make up Libra.
