Prices move with origin, clarity, treatment and the market — treat the band as a sanity check on a quote, not a valuation. Ask for a lab certificate stating the stone is natural and untreated.

How to Wear It

1. Fix the weight first — roughly one ratti per ten kilograms of body weight, three to five ratti minimum. Confirm whether your jeweller means the 0.9-carat ratti or the traditional 0.12-gram one.
2. Set it in silver / Panchadhatu with the back left open so the stone rests on the skin. A closed bezel is held to block the graha.
3. Wash the ring in raw milk, honey, ghee, curd and clean water, then place it before Shani.
4. Chant ॐ प्रां प्रीं प्रौं सः शनैश्चराय नमः — Om Praam Preem Praum Sah Shanaishcharaya Namah — 23,000 times, or have the japa performed for you.
5. Wear it on the middle finger of the right hand, first thing on Saturday evening.
6. Fast on Saturday and observe the stone for the first thirty days.

What a Capricorn Ascendant Should Avoid

• Ruby — the Sun rules the 8th
• Red Coral — Mars rules the 4th and the 11th
• Yellow Sapphire — Jupiter rules the 3rd and the 12th

Venus is the yogakaraka for a Capricorn ascendant, holding the 5th and the 10th, so diamond is often the better first stone than blue sapphire even though Saturn is your lagna lord. If you do wear Neelam, trial-wear it — it is your 1st lord, so the effect will be pronounced either way.

Care: The one stone tradition insists you trial-wear. Tie it to the arm or wear it for three to seven days first. Neelam is held to act fastest of the nine and in either direction, and it must never be combined with Ruby, Pearl or Red Coral.

Why Capricorn and Aquarius Get the Same Stone but Not the Same Advice

Saturn’s moolatrikona — the arc where it is strongest short of exaltation — is Aquarius 0°–20°, which falls in Aquarius, not Capricorn. Saturn is in plain ownership here, so Blue Sapphire (Neelam) is a slightly weaker recommendation for Capricorn than for Aquarius. From Capricorn it owns the 1st and the 2nd; from Aquarius, the 1st and the 12th. Same stone, different job.

The Other Route: Your Janma Nakshatra

Three nakshatras touch Capricorn, each with its own lord and its own stone. Selecting by janma nakshatra is the more precise route — it pins the birth Moon to one of those three segments rather than to all thirty degrees — but it needs a birth time, which is why the sign table is the one everybody sees. The three are not equal thirds; each takes one to four of the nine padas of 3°20′ that make up Capricorn.

None of the three agrees with the rashi recommendation of Blue Sapphire (Neelam): a Capricorn native born in Uttara Ashadha has a stronger case for Ruby (Manik).

General Rules
