The 10th Lord in Each of the Twelve Houses

Houses here are whole signs: the ascendant’s sign is the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on round the zodiac. The 10th lord is the graha that rules the sign falling in the 10th, so it changes with the ascendant — Saturn for Aries, Saturn for Taurus, Jupiter for Gemini, Mars for Cancer, Venus for Leo, Mercury for Virgo, Moon for Libra, Sun for Scorpio, Mercury for Sagittarius, Venus for Capricorn, Mars for Aquarius and Jupiter for Pisces. In the Parashari method a bhava lord carries the matters of its house to wherever it sits; for the 10th those matters are career and profession, public reputation, authority, and achievements.
