The 12th Lord in Each of the Twelve Houses

Houses here are whole signs: the ascendant’s sign is the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on round the zodiac. The 12th lord is the graha that rules the sign falling in the 12th, so it changes with the ascendant — Jupiter for Aries, Mars for Taurus, Venus for Gemini, Mercury for Cancer, Moon for Leo, Sun for Virgo, Mercury for Libra, Venus for Scorpio, Mars for Sagittarius, Jupiter for Capricorn, Saturn for Aquarius and Saturn for Pisces. In the Parashari method a bhava lord carries the matters of its house to wherever it sits; for the 12th those matters are expenses and losses, foreign residence, spiritual liberation, and subconscious mind.

Each page below takes one placement and works it out for all twelve ascendants: which graha, which sign it lands in, and its dignity there. None of them is a forecast. A placement is one factor; the graha’s aspects, its dispositor and the running dasha decide what it comes to in a chart.

The 12th house itself, with the grahas that occupy it, is on the 12th house page; every lord in every house is on the lordship index, and the method on the 12 houses guide.
