The 12th Lord in the 7th House

The 12th lord in the 7th house is the ruler of the 12th, the Vyaya / Moksha Bhava, placed in the 7th, the Kalatra Bhava. The 12th is a dusthana and the 7th a kendra. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 12th, the 7th is the 8th house, which from any house is a dusthana position; counted back from the 7th, the 12th is the 6th, a dusthana and an upachaya position from it.

The Reverse: the 7th Lord in the 12th

Where the 7th lord sits in the 12th in the same chart as the 12th lord in the 7th, each lord occupies the other’s sign, an exchange the texts call parivartana. That is possible for ten ascendants. For Taurus (Mars) and Scorpio (Venus) one graha rules both the 12th and the 7th, so there is nothing to exchange.
