The Jupiter Mahadasha for Pisces Ascendant

16 years · Jupiter rules the 1st and 10th

The Parashari way to read a mahadasha for a given ascendant starts with the houses its lord holds. For Pisces ascendant Jupiter rules the 1st (Pisces) and the 10th (Sagittarius), so for Pisces the 16-year Jupiter mahadasha carries both a kendra and a trikona house and a kendra and an upachaya house.

Counted from Pisces, Jupiter is exalted in the 5th (Cancer) and debilitated in the 11th (Capricorn). Jupiter is also Pisces’s lagna lord, so for this ascendant the Jupiter mahadasha is the lagna lord’s own period. Jupiter’s own nakshatras fall in Punarvasu (the 4th and 5th), Vishakha (the 8th and 9th) and Purva Bhadrapada (the 12th and 1st) for Pisces ascendant, which is where a birth that opens in the Jupiter mahadasha has its Moon.

For Pisces ascendant, three of the Jupiter mahadasha’s sub-periods belong to lords of a dusthana (the 6th, 8th or 12th): Jupiter–Saturn, Jupiter–Venus and Jupiter–Sun, and two to lords of a trikona other than the 1st: Jupiter–Moon and Jupiter–Mars. The sub-period of Jupiter, Pisces’s lagna lord, is Jupiter–Jupiter, the first of nine, 2 years 1 month 18 days long. Counted in time, sub-periods whose lords hold a dusthana for Pisces take 6 years (37%) of the Jupiter mahadasha’s 16 years, and those whose lords hold a trikona other than the 1st take 2 years 3 months 6 days (14%); a lord holding both is counted in both. In the Jupiter mahadasha for Pisces, the Rahu and Ketu sub-periods are read through their dispositors in the chart, since neither node rules a house.

For a Pisces-rising chart this is the frame of the Jupiter mahadasha, not a forecast: where Jupiter and each sub-period lord actually sit, and their dignity there, decide what it comes to, and this page cannot know either.
