The 7th Lord for Pisces Ascendant: Mercury
7th house = Virgo · lord Mercury · also lord of the 4th
With Pisces rising, the 7th house is Virgo, the 7th sign counted from Pisces, and Virgo is ruled by Mercury. So for Pisces ascendant the 7th lord is Mercury, which also rules the 4th through Gemini: one graha holds the 7th and the 4th together for this ascendant. The 7th is a kendra, and the 4th a kendra.
The lagna lord, Jupiter, counts Mercury an enemy, while Mercury counts Jupiter neutral: for Pisces ascendant the 1st and 7th lords do not see each other the same way. The 7th’s matters are spouse or partner, marriage, business partnerships and public relations; with Pisces rising they sit in Virgo, a dual earth sign that is the 6th of the natural zodiac.
Virgo as the 7th House of Pisces Ascendant
Virgo exalts Mercury, deepest at 15°, so for Pisces ascendant Mercury is exalted in the 7th; it debilitates Venus at 27°, so Venus is debilitated in the 7th. The house holds Uttara Phalguni (padas 2, 3 and 4), Hasta (all four padas) and Chitra (padas 1 and 2), whose lords are the Sun, the Moon and Mars; Mercury rules none of them. Opposite, across the chart, the 1st holds Pisces, ruled by Jupiter.
