The 7th lord in the 8th house is the ruler of the 7th, the Kalatra Bhava, placed in the 8th, the Ayur / Mrityu Bhava. The 7th is a kendra and the 8th a dusthana. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 7th, the 8th is the 2nd house; counted back from the 8th, the 7th is the 12th, a dusthana position from it.

Where the 8th lord sits in the 7th in the same chart as the 7th lord in the 8th, each lord occupies the other’s sign, an exchange the texts call parivartana. That is possible for eleven ascendants. For Cancer (Saturn) one graha rules both the 7th and the 8th, so there is nothing to exchange.
