Aquarius Rashifal February 2027 (Kumbha Rashi): Your Own Sankranti, and Mercury Stations on Your Rashi

Published 2026-08-20 | Live Pandit Ji

February is the month the Sun comes home to Kumbha Rashi. The ingress is computable to the minute: the Sun crosses 0° of sidereal Aquarius at 10:04 am on Saturday 13 February 2027, and the sankranti is named after your sign. From that instant until mid-March the Sun is on your rashi, which is the solar half of your year — the period when you are most visible, most assertive, and most inclined to overspend your energy.

Four days earlier, something rarer happens in the same place. At 11:05 pm on Tuesday 9 February, Mercury turns retrograde at 11°45′ of Aquarius — on your rashi. And the third thing you need to know is longer than a month: Saturn, which rules Kumbha Rashi, is in your second house, which is the third and final phase of Sade Sati.

Sade Sati’s Last Phase, Run by Your Own Ruler

Sade Sati is Saturn’s passage through the twelfth, first and second houses from the natal Moon — roughly seven and a half years. Saturn is in Pisces all February, direct, advancing from 16°01′ to 18°49′, and Pisces is your second house. So you are in the third and last phase, which is traditionally the least severe of the three and the one that concentrates on the second house’s subjects: money, savings, speech, food, and the immediate family.

There is a detail here that belongs only to Kumbha Rashi and to Makar. Saturn is not a stranger in your chart — it is your own ruler. Sade Sati run by the lord of your sign is generally read as more instructive and less arbitrary than Sade Sati run by a planet with no relationship to you. It still costs; it is simply less capricious about what it costs you.

The dates for the ending are worth committing to memory, because they are not a single date. Saturn leaves Pisces for Aries on 3 June 2027, which ends Sade Sati and puts Saturn in your third house — one of the three houses where its transit from the Moon is classically favourable, the others being the sixth and the eleventh. Then Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces on 20 October 2027, resuming the second phase for a few months, before settling into Aries for good on 23 February 2028.

So the honest shape of it: the end is in sight but it arrives twice. Plan the financial recovery for the second half of 2027, expect one more squeeze from late October, and treat February 2028 as the real finish line. In February 2027 itself, Saturn crosses 16°40′ of Pisces on Monday the 8th and enters Revati, the twenty-seventh and last nakshatra of the zodiac — which means the closing stretch of your Sade Sati runs through the closing nakshatra of the zodiac. Revati’s lord is Mercury, retrograde from the 9th.

Mercury Stations Retrograde on Your Rashi

Mercury begins February at 5°25′ of Aquarius, on your rashi, and stations retrograde there on the 9th at 11°45′. The station falls in the second pada of Shatabhisha, a nakshatra whose lord is Rahu — and Rahu is in your twelfth house all month. So the reversal is dispositor-linked to the house of loss, expenditure and things happening out of sight.

A retrograde Mercury on the Moon sign is the version of this transit that is about you rather than about your paperwork. It reads as being misunderstood, as saying something and having it land differently than intended, and as second thoughts about a decision that felt settled in January. Mercury then reverses off your rashi into your twelfth house at 4:46 am on Wednesday 24 February, turns direct at 26°41′ of Capricorn on 3 March at 6:02 pm, and returns to Aquarius on 12 March at 5:00 am. Three crossings of your own ascendant-equivalent boundary in five weeks.

The sharpest date inside that is 10:09 pm on Thursday 18 February, when the Sun and retrograde Mercury meet at the same degree — 5°34′ of Aquarius, on your rashi. When Mercury is in the Sun’s immediate proximity the texts describe it as overwhelmed; they differ on the exact orb, so no single figure is worth asserting, but the direction is agreed. Around the 18th your own reasoning is less available and other people’s authority is more. Do not argue a technical case that week, and do not conclude a negotiation.

Exalted Jupiter in Your Sixth House

Cancer is the sixth house from Aquarius, and Jupiter is exalted in it for all of February, retrograde, moving from 29°09′ back to 25°32′ and never leaving Ashlesha nakshatra. The sixth is a dusthana — enemies, disease, debt, litigation, and service — but it is also one of the four upachaya or growth houses, alongside the third, tenth and eleventh.

An exalted Jupiter in the sixth is the placement under which the sixth house’s problems become manageable rather than absent. In a Sade Sati year with the second house under pressure, that is genuinely valuable: it is a supportive transit for restructuring a debt, settling a dispute, managing a chronic condition, or doing well in a subordinate role. Jupiter holds Cancer until 26 June 2027 and does not return until 2038, so this is the window.

Ketu shares the house, closing from 26°59′ to 25°30′, and the two close to an exact conjunction on Monday 1 March at 25°27′ of Cancer. Classically Guru Chandal is Jupiter with Rahu, and whether the name extends to Jupiter with Ketu is disputed between later authorities, so it is best not asserted either way. The arithmetic stands on its own. What it suggests, with Ketu’s detaching nature in the house of service and illness, is that something you have been carrying as a duty quietly stops being yours to carry.

Mars reverses into that same sixth house at 12:30 am on 10 March, debilitated in Cancer and still retrograde. So the clean stretch of this configuration is February; act inside it.

A Full Moon in Your Seventh House

Leo is the seventh house from Aquarius, and Mars is retrograde in it all month, retreating from 13°06′ to 3°11′ entirely inside Magha. The Full Moon forms on it at 4:53 am on Sunday 21 February, at 7°51′ of Leo, 1°51′ from Mars at 6°00′.

A retrograde Mars in the seventh is friction with a partner or a business associate, usually over something old rather than something new; the Full Moon 1°51′ away brings it to the surface around the 21st. Magha’s deities are the Pitrs, the ancestors, and its lord Ketu sits in your sixth house, which often gives the disagreement a family origin. Mars turns direct on 1 April 2027 at 7:42 pm; that is when it genuinely settles, and until then the argument recurs rather than resolves.

February’s Dated Events for Kumbha Rashi

  • The New Moon forms in your twelfth house at 23°24′ of Capricorn, 3°16′ short of Rahu (9:26 pm, Saturday 6 February).
  • Saturn, your ruler, enters Revati in your second house and stays in it for the rest of its time in Pisces (Monday 8 February).
  • Mercury stations retrograde on your rashi at 11°45′ of Aquarius, in Rahu’s nakshatra Shatabhisha (11:05 pm, Tuesday 9 February).
  • Three minutes later, the Sun reaches Rahu’s exact degree in your twelfth house at 26°30′ of Capricorn (11:05 pm, Tuesday 9 February).
  • The Sun crosses into your own sign at the Kumbha Sankranti ingress (10:04 am, Saturday 13 February).
  • The Sun and retrograde Mercury meet at the same degree on your rashi, 5°34′ of Aquarius (10:09 pm, Thursday 18 February).
  • The Full Moon fills your seventh house at 7°51′ of Leo, 1°51′ from retrograde Mars (4:53 am, Sunday 21 February).
  • Mercury reverses off your rashi into your twelfth house, and Venus follows it into the same house that afternoon (4:46 am and 3:11 pm, Wednesday 24 February).
  • Exalted Jupiter and Ketu meet exactly in your sixth house at 25°27′ of Cancer (Monday 1 March).
  • Mercury turns direct at 26°41′ of Capricorn, which ends the month’s reversals (6:02 pm, Wednesday 3 March).

Week by Week

Week of 1–7 February

The only week of the month with Mercury moving forwards, and therefore the one to use for anything that must be said clearly and once. The New Moon of Saturday the 6th falls in your twelfth house, which makes it a better date for withdrawal, retreat and quiet resolution than for any beginning. Your ruler enters Revati on the Sunday.

Week of 8–14 February

Tuesday the 9th carries the month’s pivot twice over: Mercury stations on your rashi at 11:05 pm and the Sun crosses Rahu in your twelfth at 11:05 pm. That closeness is coincidence, not doctrine, but it is a poor night for decisions. Then Saturday the 13th brings the Sun onto your own sign at 10:04 am, and the second half of the month has a different temperature from the first.

Week of 15–21 February

The Sun and a retrograde Mercury are both on your rashi and meet exactly on Thursday the 18th at 10:09 pm — the week to be seen and not to be heard. It ends with the Full Moon in your seventh house before dawn on Sunday the 21st, on retrograde Mars, which is the month’s most likely date for an argument with a partner.

Week of 22–28 February

Wednesday the 24th empties your rashi of Mercury and fills your twelfth house instead, with Venus joining it at 3:11 pm. A twelfth-house Venus is comfortable but inward — spending, travel, retreat, and sleep. The last four days of February are the quietest of the twenty-eight, and after the fortnight that precedes them that is not a complaint.

Money, Work and Health

Money is where Sade Sati is currently working, since Saturn is in your second house. The realistic reading is that income is not the problem and margin is: expenses arrive on time and reserves do not rebuild as fast as they should. February gives you two useful tools against that — an exalted Jupiter in your sixth house, which is the classical support for restructuring debt, and a Saturn transit that rewards austerity practised deliberately rather than imposed. Set the budget yourself and Saturn is far less inventive about setting it for you.

Work is quieter: your tenth house, Scorpio, is empty this month, so career takes its cue from the first house — from your own initiative — and the Sun’s arrival on your rashi from the 13th is the assertive half. But with Mercury retrograde until 3 March the sequence should be: propose in February, agree in March.

On health, the Sun on the rashi from the 13th classically raises heat and lowers stamina slightly, and the twelfth house — which takes the New Moon of the 6th, then Mercury and Venus from the 24th — governs sleep. An exalted Jupiter in the sixth house is genuinely protective where a chronic condition is being managed, so February is a good month to get something looked at properly rather than endured. Mars stays retrograde until 1 April 2027, which is the standard reason to keep physical intensity level rather than rising.

Remedies for Kumbha Rashi in February 2027

Four things to work with: the last phase of Sade Sati in the second house, a retrograde Mercury stationing on the rashi, an exalted Jupiter in the sixth worth using, and a retrograde Mars carrying a Full Moon in the seventh.

  • Saturday observance for Shani — 6, 13, 20 and 27 February: Saturn rules Kumbha Rashi and is running the third phase of your Sade Sati from your second house. Sesame oil and iron, black til, and a lamp under a peepal after sundown. Our Sade Sati page sets out the phases, the Sade Sati remedies the practice, and Saturday fasting the discipline.
  • Choose your own austerity: the most useful thing anyone can do in a second-house Sade Sati. A budget you set is a budget Saturn does not have to set for you, and this phase ends on 3 June 2027 before resuming briefly from 20 October 2027.
  • Watch your speech, especially with family: the second house governs speech as well as wealth, and Saturn there for a Sade Sati phase is the classical cause of words that cost more than they should.
  • Wednesday observance for Budh — 3, 10, 17 and 24 February: Mercury turns retrograde on your own rashi on the 9th, in Rahu’s nakshatra, and does not turn direct until 3 March, itself a Wednesday. Green moong, a green cloth, and something written given rather than sold.
  • Do not conclude anything around Thursday the 18th: the Sun and retrograde Mercury meet on your rashi at 10:09 pm. Reasoning is at its least reliable and other people’s authority at its most persuasive.
  • Guru worship on the Thursdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 February: exalted Jupiter in your sixth house until 26 June 2027, with no return before 2038, is your best available protection while Sade Sati closes. Turmeric, chana dal, and a yellow cloth given to a teacher; see the weak-Jupiter remedies.
  • Restructure the debt in February: an exalted sixth-house Jupiter is the transit for it, and a debilitated retrograde Mars joins that house on 10 March.
  • Tuesday restraint for Mangal — 2, 9, 16 and 23 February: Mars is retrograde in your seventh house with the Full Moon of the 21st landing 1°51′ from it. Hanuman Chalisa and red masoor; the Tuesday fast is the traditional form and the Mangal Dosh page covers the marital side.
  • Rahu measures for the twelfth house: Rahu holds your twelfth house all month, sits three degrees from the New Moon of the 6th and takes the Sun exactly on the 9th. Mustard oil given away rather than used, and something dark donated; the Rahu–Ketu page has the fuller set.

In Summary

February 2027 belongs to Kumbha Rashi in the plainest possible sense: the Sun arrives on your own sign at 10:04 am on Saturday 13 February, at the Kumbha Sankranti ingress, and stays for a month. Before that, Mercury turns retrograde on your rashi at 11:05 pm on Tuesday the 9th, at 11°45′ of Aquarius in Shatabhisha — Rahu’s nakshatra, with Rahu itself in your twelfth house. The two meet at the same degree on your rashi at 10:09 pm on Thursday the 18th.

Underneath the month, Saturn — your own ruler — advances from 16°01′ to 18°49′ of Pisces in your second house, which is the third and final phase of Sade Sati, and crosses into Revati on Monday the 8th. The finish is real but it arrives in stages: Sade Sati ends on 3 June 2027, resumes when Saturn retrogrades back on 20 October 2027, and closes for good on 23 February 2028, after which Saturn sits in your favourable third house.

The month’s protection is an exalted Jupiter in your sixth house — good for debt, disputes and chronic conditions — holding until 26 June 2027 and not returning until 2038, with Ketu joining it exactly on 1 March. The month’s difficulty is the Full Moon at 7°51′ of Leo in your seventh house at 4:53 am on Sunday the 21st, 1°51′ from a retrograde Mars.

Whether your Sade Sati is nearly over or still biting depends on your Moon’s degree, since Kumbha’s three nakshatras answer to three different lords — Dhanishta to Mars, Shatabhisha to Rahu, Purva Bhadrapada to Jupiter — and a Shatabhisha Moon takes this particular Mercury station far more personally than a Purva Bhadrapada one. The pada-level treatment of Kumbha Rashi works that through, the Saturn remedies matter because Saturn rules your sign, and January’s reading covers what came before.

When exactly does your Sade Sati end?

Saturn leaves your second house on 3 June 2027, comes back on 20 October, and finally goes on 23 February 2028. Which of those three dates is the one that matters for you depends on your natal Moon — an astrologer can read it.
