Aries Rashifal August 2027 (Mesha Rashi): Saturn Turns Retrograde on Your Own Sign
Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji
Of the twelve signs, only one has Saturn sitting on its own rashi in August 2027, and yours is it. Saturn is in Aries all thirty-one days, which is its sign of debilitation, and it spends the month in Ashwini, covering only 3°34′ down to 3°13′. It moves backwards over that arc, because at 11:04 pm on Monday 9 August Saturn turns retrograde — on your sign.
We give that one to the minute deliberately. A station is the instant a planet’s apparent motion reverses, and it is intrinsic to the geometry of the Earth and the planet: it does not depend on which ayanamsa you use to divide the zodiac. An ingress at low speed does. Saturn covers thirty-five arcminutes in a month, so a two-arcminute disagreement between one ayanamsa and another moves a printed sign-crossing by about two days — but it does not move the station at all. So the station gets a time; nothing else about Saturn this month does.
The rest of the month happens in your fourth and fifth houses. Cancer, your fourth house, holds the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Ketu in the first fortnight, and the New Moon of 3:35 pm on Monday 2 August forms in that house too. Between the 4th and the 12th, six separate exact conjunctions occur there. Then all three planets move up into your fifth house behind Jupiter, where two more exact conjunctions happen and the second New Moon of the month forms on the 31st. August 2027 has eight exact conjunctions; July 2027 had one.
A Debilitated Saturn, Stationary, on Mesha Rashi
Saturn transiting the Moon sign is the middle third of sade sati — the seven and a half years in which Saturn crosses the twelfth house, the rashi, and the second house. The middle third is the part the classics treat as the heaviest, because the transit is on the sign itself rather than approaching or leaving it. That is where Mesha readers are in August 2027, and Saturn is debilitated while doing it.
What the retrograde station adds is honestly disputed, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. A retrograde planet is nearer the Earth and its effects are usually described as louder and more internal. Some authorities read retrogression in a sign of debilitation as partially offsetting the weakness, on the reasoning that a planet moving against the order of the zodiac is not behaving like a weak planet. Others read it as concentrating the difficulty. Both readings are old and both have respectable support. What is not in dispute is the practical shape: from the 9th onwards, whatever Saturn has been doing to you slows down, turns inward, and starts repeating itself.
The useful response is structural rather than emotional. Saturn on the rashi is the transit that asks what you are actually carrying, and it does not accept a busy answer. August gives you four Saturdays — the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th — and the second of them falls the day before Saturn has been retrograde a week. Read our sade sati page and our Shani dosh page; the point of both is that a Saturn transit rewards reduction, not effort.
Six Exact Conjunctions in Your Fourth House
This is the month’s densest fact and it belongs to your house of home, mother and property. Ketu sits in Cancer for all thirty-one days, moving backwards from 17°23′ to 15°45′, and the Sun, Venus and Mercury each pass over it in turn: the Sun is exact with Ketu at 6:07 am on Wednesday 4 August at 17°13′, Venus at 11:15 pm on Thursday 5 August at 17°07′, and Mercury at 3:16 am on Sunday 8 August at 17°01′. Then the three of them meet each other higher up the same sign: Mercury with Venus at 11:59 am on Wednesday 11 August at 23°57′, the Sun with Mercury at 4:32 pm the same day at 24°20′, and the Sun with Venus at 5:50 am on Thursday 12 August at 24°52′.
Six exact conjunctions in nine days, all of them in your fourth house, all of them in Ashlesha once the Sun crosses in at 4:26 pm on Tuesday 3 August. A fourth house this crowded is not a quiet domestic month. The honest reading of three planets crossing Ketu in the house of home is that something about the household gets exposed rather than added to: a repair, an old arrangement, a relative’s situation you had stopped looking at. Ketu is the significator of what has already been finished with, and planets crossing it tend to reveal rather than build.
The Sun–Venus conjunction on the 12th is also the deepest point of Shukra asta. Venus is combust for the whole of August — the window runs from 6 July to 17 September — and the 12th is where it passes closest to the Sun. For a Mesha chart, Venus rules your second and seventh houses, so a Venus that is invisible all month is the single most limiting fact about the calendar. More on that below.
Your Fourth House Empties Into Your Fifth
Mercury leads the move. It enters Leo and Magha together at 11:50 am on Saturday 14 August, crossing into your fifth house. Venus follows at 9:29 am on Monday 16 August, also entering Magha as it changes sign. The Sun crosses at 2:07 pm on Tuesday 17 August, which is Simha Sankranti — the Sun entering its own sign — and the same instant carries it into Magha.
Jupiter has been in your fifth house since before the month began and stays all thirty-one days, running 6°54′ to 13°33′ of Leo. So from the 17th your fifth house of children, creativity, learning and merit holds four planets: Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and the Sun in its own sign. Two exact conjunctions happen there: Mercury with Jupiter at 4:16 am on Friday 20 August at 10°59′ of Leo, and Venus with Jupiter at 8:29 am on Thursday 26 August at 12°19′. And the month’s second New Moon forms in your fifth house at 11:11 pm on Tuesday 31 August, at 13°54′ of Leo in Purva Phalguni pada 1.
Two New Moons inside one calendar month is uncommon — it needs the first to fall in the opening two days, and this one lands on the 2nd. For Mesha the pair splits neatly across the two houses that carry the month: a reset in the house of home on the 2nd, and a reset in the house of children and creative work on the 31st. If you are going to start something in August, the 31st is the better of the two dates, and it is also the day Mercury reaches exaltation.
Your Ruler Changes Sign on Janmashtami
Mars rules Mesha, and in August it sits in Virgo, your sixth house of debt, illness and enemies, for the first twenty-three days. It enters Chitra at 8:23 pm on Friday 13 August, and then crosses into Libra, your seventh house of partnership, at 9:42 am on Tuesday 24 August. Krishna Janmashtami falls on Tuesday 24 August.
A ruler in the sixth house is one of the few placements the classics call useful for a malefic: Mars in the sixth fights your difficulties for you. It is good for litigation, for confronting a debt, for a health problem that needs an aggressive rather than a patient approach. Mars leaving for the seventh on the 24th changes the target. Mars in the seventh house is the classical description of friction with the partner — not necessarily conflict, but impatience, and a tendency to push a decision that would settle better on its own. It stays there for the last eight days of August and beyond.
August hands Mesha five Tuesdays — the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. For a Mars-ruled sign that is the best weekday count the month could have produced, and the calendar has loaded three of them: the 17th carries the Full Moon and Simha Sankranti, the 24th carries your ruler’s sign change and Janmashtami, and the 31st carries Mercury’s exaltation and the second New Moon. See our page on Tuesday fasting.
The Full Moon in Your Tenth, and Where Rahu Is
The Full Moon of 12:58 pm on Tuesday 17 August forms at the very end of Capricorn, in the closing minutes of Dhanishta pada 2 — your tenth house of career and public standing. It is a tight piece of timing: the Moon leaves Capricorn at 1:04 pm, six minutes after the lunation, and Simha Sankranti follows at 2:07 pm. Three events inside sixty-nine minutes. Raksha Bandhan falls on Tuesday 17 August, and the Purnima tithi it needs ends at the Full Moon itself.
Rahu is in Capricorn all month, moving backwards from 17°23′ to 15°45′ in Shravana. On the 17th it is at roughly 16°30′, so the Full Moon and Rahu are about thirteen and a half degrees apart — the same house, not a conjunction. That distinction matters, because “Full Moon in the house Rahu occupies” and “Full Moon with Rahu” are different claims and popular writing collapses them constantly. Yours is the first.
A Full Moon in the tenth house shows you your professional position at full illumination for one night. It is the classical signature of something becoming visible rather than resolved — a reputation, a result, a judgement someone has formed about your work. With Rahu in the same house all month, the ambition is already running high; the lunation simply tells you where you actually stand, which is worth more than the ambition does. See our Rahu–Ketu remedies page.

Week by Week
Thirty-one days running Sunday to Tuesday. Five Sundays, five Mondays and five Tuesdays; only four each of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For a Mars-ruled sign the five Tuesdays are the ones to plan around, and the four Saturdays are the ones to use for Saturn.
1–7 August
Everything happens in your fourth house. Mercury enters Pushya at 11:21 am on Sunday the 1st, the New Moon forms in that house at 3:35 pm on Monday the 2nd, the Sun crosses into Ashlesha at 4:26 pm on Tuesday the 3rd, and then the conjunctions with Ketu begin — the Sun at 6:07 am on Wednesday the 4th, Venus at 11:15 pm on Thursday the 5th. Hariyali Teej falls on Wednesday 4 August. Nag Panchami falls on Friday 6 August. A New Moon in the fourth house is a genuine reset on the household: the week to start a domestic routine, not a career push.
8–14 August
The heaviest week of the month. Mercury crosses Ketu at 3:16 am on Sunday the 8th, Saturn turns retrograde on your sign at 11:04 pm on Monday the 9th, and Wednesday the 11th carries two exact conjunctions in your fourth house within five hours. Thursday the 12th is the deepest point of Venus’s combustion. Mars enters Chitra at 8:23 pm on Friday the 13th, and Mercury leaves your fourth house for your fifth at 11:50 am on Saturday the 14th. Do not sign anything material this week; four of the month’s eight exact conjunctions fall inside it.
15–21 August
The week the month turns. Venus crosses into your fifth house at 9:29 am on Monday the 16th, and Guru asta starts the same day, so Jupiter is invisible in that house until 15 September. Tuesday the 17th is the densest hour of the year so far: the Full Moon in your tenth house at 12:58 pm, the Moon out of Capricorn at 1:04 pm, and Simha Sankranti at 2:07 pm. Raksha Bandhan falls on Tuesday 17 August. Then Mercury is exact with Jupiter in your fifth house at 4:16 am on Friday the 20th, and enters Purva Phalguni at 10:40 am on Saturday the 21st.
22–28 August
Your week. The Moon arrives on Mesha Rashi at 11:10 am on Sunday the 22nd and stays until 6:38 pm on Tuesday the 24th — fifty-five hours twenty-eight minutes, and your ruler changes sign forty-six hours thirty-two minutes into it, at 9:42 am on the 24th. Krishna Janmashtami falls on Tuesday 24 August, inside your Chandra window. Venus is exact with Jupiter at 8:29 am on Thursday the 26th and enters Purva Phalguni at 4:03 am on Friday the 27th. If there is one stretch in August to begin something personal, it is the 22nd to the 24th.
29–31 August
Three days that carry four events. Mercury enters Uttara Phalguni at 1:19 am on Sunday the 29th. Then Tuesday the 31st: Mercury reaches Virgo and exaltation at 1:57 am, landing in your sixth house; the Sun enters Purva Phalguni at 10:05 am; Jupiter reaches Purva Phalguni in the last hours of the month; and the second New Moon of August forms in your fifth house at 11:11 pm. An exalted Mercury in the sixth house is the best thing that happens to a Mesha chart all month — it is the placement for winning an argument on paper.
Career and Money for Mesha Rashi
Career sits in your tenth house, Capricorn, which holds Rahu all month and receives the Full Moon on the 17th. That is a visible, ambitious, slightly unstable combination. Rahu in the tenth is classically strong for reputation and for unconventional routes upward, and weak for anything that needs a settled process. The Full Moon there tells you what your standing actually is. Its ruler is Saturn, which is debilitated on your rashi and retrograde from the 9th, so the machinery behind the ambition is slow. Expect recognition to arrive later than the effort deserves, and do not read the lag as refusal.
Money has a clearer signal. Your second house of income is Taurus, empty all month, and its ruler Venus is combust for the whole of August, deepest on the 12th. An income ruler that is invisible for thirty-one days is a month for collecting rather than negotiating. Against that, Mercury reaching exaltation in your sixth house at 1:57 am on the 31st is genuinely useful for anything involving numbers, contracts, disputes or paperwork — but it arrives with one day left. Use the 31st to prepare and September to act. See our financial remedies page.
Mars in your sixth house for the first twenty-three days is the month’s working tool. If there is a debt to restructure, a bill to dispute or a claim to press, the window is the 1st to the 23rd, and it closes when Mars leaves for your seventh house at 9:42 am on the 24th. See also our career remedies page.
Home, Family and Partnership
Home is where the month happens. Your fourth house holds Ketu all thirty-one days and three planets plus a New Moon for the first fortnight, with six exact conjunctions inside nine days. Read that as attention rather than trouble: the house of home and mother is fully lit until the 17th, and what has been quietly unresolved there tends to surface. Ketu in the fourth is classically detachment from the place you live — a sense that the house is not quite yours. Three planets crossing it in turn make that specific rather than vague.
Partnership tightens in the last week. Mars enters your seventh house at 9:42 am on 24 August and stays past the end of the month, and its ruler Venus is combust throughout. Mars in the seventh is impatience directed at the person closest to you; the correction is to slow the pace of decisions rather than to argue about the content. On the calendar, August is closed for weddings from end to end: Chaturmas covers all thirty-one days, Venus is combust to 17 September, and Jupiter joins it from the 16th to 15 September. The marriage muhurat page for August 2027 sets out why there is nothing to choose between.
Children and creative work are the compensation. Your fifth house holds Jupiter all month and gains Mercury, Venus and the Sun in its own sign by the 17th, with two exact conjunctions and the second New Moon. Jupiter goes combust there from the 16th, which mutes it, but four planets in the house of children and merit is a strong placement even so. If there is a samskara to plan, the child samskara page for August 2027 shows what the closures leave.
Health
The health signal is Saturn, not the sixth house. A debilitated Saturn on the Moon sign, retrograde from the 9th, correlates in a Mesha chart with fatigue that does not match the workload, with joints and teeth, and with sleep. It is a month for reducing rather than pushing. Mars in your sixth house until the 24th is helpful here in the specific sense that it favours acting on a health matter decisively — booking the test, starting the course — and unhelpful in that it encourages you to train through something you should rest.
For anything you want to begin, your Chandra window is 11:10 am on 22 August to 6:38 pm on 24 August — fifty-five hours twenty-eight minutes with the Moon on your own sign, holding Janmashtami and your ruler’s sign change. Brahma muhurta on the 23rd and 24th, with the Moon still on Mesha, is the strongest pair of mornings in the month. The 31st is the better date for a formal beginning, because of the New Moon at 11:11 pm and Mercury’s exaltation that morning.
Remedies for Mesha Rashi in August 2027
Four conditions define the month: a debilitated Saturn on your own rashi turning retrograde at 11:04 pm on the 9th; six exact conjunctions in your fourth house between the 4th and the 12th; your fifth house filling to four planets by the 17th with the second New Moon arriving there on the 31st; and your ruler Mars moving from the sixth house to the seventh on the 24th.
- Shani observance on the four Saturdays — 7, 14, 21 and 28 August: the month’s central practice, because Saturn is on your sign, debilitated, and retrograde from the 9th. Sesame oil, black til, mustard oil to a peepal after sundown, and a lamp lit for the household rather than for yourself. See Shani remedies and Saturday fasting.
- Mangal practice on the five Tuesdays — 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 August: your ruler is in the sixth house doing useful work until the 24th and in the seventh after it. Hanuman Chalisa, red lentils, and physical effort given a purpose rather than spent on irritation. See Mangal remedies, Tuesday fasting and our Mangal dosh page.
- Something for the household between the 2nd and the 17th: your fourth house carries a New Moon and six exact conjunctions in that stretch. A repair completed, a room cleared, or an older relative visited counts for more this month than it usually does.
- Shukra observance on the Fridays — 6, 13, 20 and 27 August: Venus rules your second house of income and your seventh house of partnership, and it is combust for all thirty-one days, deepest on the 12th. White cloth, rice, ghee, something fragrant offered rather than worn. See Shukra remedies and Friday fasting.
- Guru worship on the Thursdays — 5, 12, 19 and 26 August: Jupiter holds your fifth house all month and goes combust there from the 16th. Turmeric, chana dal, and yellow given rather than worn. See weak-Jupiter remedies and Thursday fasting.
- Keep 22 to 24 August clear: fifty-five hours of Moon on Mesha Rashi, with Janmashtami and your ruler’s sign change inside it. The best personal window August gives you.
- Ketu practice for a fourth-house transit: Ketu is in your house of home all month and three planets cross it. Something given away from the house itself — not money, objects — is the classical counterweight. See our Ketu remedies and the Rahu–Ketu page.
In Summary
For Mesha Rashi, August 2027 is a Saturn month with a crowded fourth house. Saturn is debilitated on your own sign for all thirty-one days, covering just thirty-five arcminutes, and it turns retrograde at 11:04 pm on Monday 9 August — the middle third of sade sati, with the station on the rashi. No other sign gets that this month.
Around it, the month is unusually busy. Six of August’s eight exact conjunctions happen in your fourth house between the 4th and the 12th, with Ketu there throughout. The New Moon of 3:35 pm on 2 August forms in that house, and the second New Moon of 11:11 pm on 31 August forms in your fifth, which by then holds four planets including the Sun in its own sign. The Full Moon of 12:58 pm on 17 August lands in your tenth house, about thirteen and a half degrees from Rahu, six minutes before the Moon leaves Capricorn and sixty-nine minutes before Simha Sankranti.
Your ruler does the practical work: Mars in your sixth house until 9:42 am on 24 August, then in your seventh. Five Tuesdays — the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st — give you the weekday count to use it. All of this is sign-level. Which of the nine Aries padas holds your natal Moon, where Saturn sits in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it lands. For more, read July’s reading, what Mesha Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our page on strengthening a weak Saturn.
Saturn turns retrograde on your own sign
Whether a station on the rashi reaches you depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon and where Saturn sits in your own chart — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
