Sagittarius Rashifal May 2027 (Dhanu Rashi): Kantaka Shani’s Last Full Month

Published 2026-08-21 | Live Pandit Ji

Saturn has been in your fourth house for about two years. That transit has a name — Kantaka Shani, the thorn — and it is one of the three positions Saturn holds that classical texts single out for difficulty, because the fourth house is home, mother, land, vehicles and the mind’s own resting place, and Saturn there makes all of them heavier.

May 2027 is its last full month. Saturn moves from 26°18′ to 29°47′ of Pisces — thirteen arc-minutes from the end of the zodiac — and crosses into Aries and your fifth house on 3 June 2027. So the reading of this month for Dhanu Rashi is a countdown, and the number to hold on to is that Saturn ends May less than a quarter of a degree from the edge of the sign.

It also ends with company. Venus begins the month exalted in Pisces, in that same fourth house, and is exact with Saturn at 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May, at 27°08′ of Pisces. And Venus in the fourth house is not merely exalted — the fourth is Venus’s own direction of strength, its digbala. Two kinds of strength at once, in the house that has been hardest, on the day before it leaves.

Exalted Venus With Digbala in Your Fourth House

Digbala is the doctrine that each planet is strongest in a particular quarter of the chart — the first house for Jupiter and Mercury, the tenth for the Sun and Mars, the seventh for Saturn, and the fourth for Venus and the Moon. Venus in Pisces is also in its sign of exaltation. So for the first ten days of May the planet of comfort, beauty and domestic peace sits in your house of home with both forms of strength available to it, in the house Saturn has spent two years making austere.

The exact contact with Saturn falls in the first hour of Saturday the 8th, at 27°08′ of Pisces, in the fourth pada of Revati — which is the gandanta, the unstable junction formed by the last 3°20′ of Pisces and the first 3°20′ of Aries. Read as a fourth-house event, that minute is relief entering the place that has been under pressure: a household matter easing, a mother’s health or mood turning, a property question becoming answerable, or simply a weekend at home that does not feel like a chore.

Venus does not stay. At 8:45 am on Monday 10 May it enters Aries and Ashwini, losing exaltation and digbala together, and moves to your fifth house; it enters Bharani at 8:00 am on Friday 21 May. Venus in the fifth is enjoyment, romance and creative work, which is a pleasant place for it — but the ten-day window in your fourth house is the rarer thing, and it is the part of May worth using deliberately.

What Kantaka Shani Has Been, and What Replaces It

Saturn crosses from the third pada of Revati into the fourth in the first days of May and stays inside the gandanta to the end of the month. At 0.11° a day that pada crossing is worth a day, not a minute, so we do not date it more finely. Saturn in a gandanta in your fourth house is a fair description of what the end of Kantaka Shani feels like: nearly over, and least stable in its last stretch.

What follows is Saturn in your fifth house, from 3 June. That is easier on the household and harder on enjoyment: the fifth is children, learning, romance and creative work, and Saturn there makes each of them into labour. It also does not arrive in one step — Saturn turns retrograde in Aries on 9 August 2027, slides back into Pisces and your fourth house on 20 October 2027, and turns direct there on 24 December 2027. So there is one more visit to the fourth house before it is genuinely finished.

The practical consequence is that May and June are the right months for the fourth-house decision you have been deferring: the repair, the move, the conversation with a parent, the property matter. Doing it while Saturn is still there and moving forward is easier than doing it in November with Saturn back and retrograde. Our Shani dosh page covers what Saturn does in these positions.

Your Exalted Ruler, Pulling Clear of Ketu

Jupiter rules Dhanu Rashi, and in May it is exalted in Cancer — in your eighth house, with Ketu. The two were exact on 20 April; on 1 May they are 58 arc-minutes apart and by the 31st 5°32′ apart. Jupiter moves only 2°55′ in the whole month, from 23°14′ to 26°09′, entirely inside Ashlesha, crossing from the second pada to the third. It has been direct since 13 April.

An exalted ruler in the eighth house is a genuinely mixed thing. The eighth is upheaval, hidden matters, inheritance, insurance, research and the occult, and Jupiter at maximum strength there gives protection in exactly those areas — a settlement that goes your way, a piece of research that pays, an inheritance handled without a fight. Conjunct Ketu, though, exaltation stops registering: the protection is present and unfelt. May is the month that reverses, gradually.

And there is a better position coming. Jupiter leaves Cancer for Leo at 4:48 am on 26 June 2027, moving from your eighth house to your ninth — the house of dharma, fortune and teachers, and the house Jupiter is happiest in. So your ruler spends May in its last full month in the difficult house, at full strength, becoming steadily more useful.

Sixty Hours of Moon, and Two Lunations

Your Chandra days run from 4:50 pm on Saturday 22 May to 4:52 am on Tuesday 25 Maysixty hours and two minutes, one of the two longest windows the month gives any sign. That is not a coincidence: the Moon slows through May as it moves towards the far point of its orbit, so it takes about fifty hours to cross a sign in the first week and over sixty by the fourth. Dhanu Rashi gets the slow end of that.

The lunations fall elsewhere. The New Moon forms at 4:28 pm on Thursday 6 May at 21°30′ of Aries, in the third pada of Bharani, in your fifth house — children, learning, creative work — and the Full Moon at 4:29 pm on Thursday 20 May at 5°00′ of Scorpio, in the first pada of Anuradha, in your twelfth house, fourteen days and one minute later. A Full Moon in the twelfth is the quietest kind: expenditure, sleep, travel and things concluded without an audience. It is a poor week for visibility and a good one for rest.

The Sankranti, and Mercury’s Long Run

The Sun is exalted in Aries in your fifth house until 12:14 pm on Saturday 15 May — a bright, confident placement for children, learning and self-expression. It enters Krittika at 1:22 am on Wednesday 12 May, then Taurus and your sixth house at Vrishabha Sankranti, and Rohini at 9:39 pm on Tuesday 25 May. The Sun in the sixth is good for defeating opposition and poor for patience.

Mercury covers 50°11′ this month, more than any other body: it enters Taurus and your sixth house at 12:34 pm on Thursday 6 May and Gemini and your seventh at 6:28 pm on Sunday 23 May. It opens the month combust, having been exact with the Sun at 2:51 am on 29 April; the gap reaches 14° on about the 11th and nearly 23° by the 27th. So the first week is the wrong week for a document and the last is the right one, with Mercury in its own sign in your partnership house from the 23rd.

Every Day of May Is Open

No closure falls anywhere in the month — no Kharmas, no Holashtak, no Chaturmas, no Adhika Maas, and neither Jupiter nor Venus combust. All 31 days are open, inside an unbroken run of 82 open days from 15 April to 5 July 2027, the longest in the two years our tables cover. The run ends because Venus goes combust on 6 July 2027 and stays combust until 17 September.

For Dhanu Rashi the most useful application is the fourth house. If a griha pravesh, a property purchase or a vehicle has been waiting for Kantaka Shani to finish, the calendar is entirely open and Saturn leaves that house on 3 June. See griha pravesh for May 2027, vehicle purchase, business and property and the marriage muhurat page.

Week by Week

Thirty-one days, Saturday to Monday, so five Saturdays, five Sundays and five Mondays and four of everything else. Jupiter rules Dhanu Rashi, so your day is Thursday: 6, 13, 20 and 27 May — and every one of them catches your ruler exalted.

1–7 May

The best week of the month for your household. Exalted Venus, with digbala, sits in your fourth house for all of it. Mercury is combust in your fifth at the start, having been exact with the Sun on 29 April, and moves to your sixth at 12:34 pm on Thursday the 6th; the New Moon forms in your fifth four hours later at 4:28 pm. Do the domestic thing this week — the repair, the visit, the conversation — and leave the paperwork.

8–14 May

The week the month turns on. Exalted Venus is exact with Saturn in your fourth house in the first hour of Saturday the 8th, at 12:18 am. Venus then leaves for your fifth at 8:45 am on Monday the 10th, taking both its strengths with it, and Mercury clears the Sun’s glare around the 11th. Thursday the 13th is a good day: your weekday, your ruler exalted.

15–21 May

A low-visibility week. The Sun crosses into your sixth house at 12:14 pm on Saturday the 15th, and the Full Moon fills your twelfth house at 4:29 pm on Thursday the 20th — the quietest lunation there is, in the house of rest, expense and travel. Do not schedule anything that needs an audience. It is a good week for sleep, for finishing privately, and for spending money you had decided to spend.

22–28 May

Your week. The Moon reaches Dhanu Rashi at 4:50 pm on Saturday the 22nd and stays sixty hours, to 4:52 am on Tuesday the 25th. Mercury reaches its own sign in your seventh house at 6:28 pm on Sunday the 23rd and its widest separation from the Sun on the 27th at nearly 23°, so this is also the best week of the month for an agreement or a negotiation. Thursday the 27th is your strongest weekday of May.

29–31 May

Three days to finish the fourth-house business in. Mercury enters Ardra at 10:20 pm on Saturday the 29th. The month closes on Monday the 31st with Saturn thirteen arc-minutes from the end of Pisces and Kantaka Shani three days from over. If there is a household matter that has been waiting two years for the weight to lift, this is the week to line it up.

Career and Money for Dhanu Rashi

Your tenth house, Virgo, is empty all month and its lord Mercury spends the month climbing from your fifth to your seventh, so career is indirect in May: it moves through partnerships and through work rather than through position. The best professional week is the last, with Mercury in its own sign in your seventh house from 6:28 pm on the 23rd — that is the month’s window for an agreement, a client or a negotiation.

Money is eighth-house money this month, which means it is other people’s: loans, settlements, insurance, inheritance, a partner’s income. Exalted Jupiter there, pulling clear of Ketu, is good cover for exactly that. Against it, Rahu holds your second house of income and family all month in Capricorn, from 22°16′ to 20°37′, in Shravana pada 4 with no nakshatra change — the standard signature for money that arrives from an unconventional direction and does not stay. Mars in your ninth house all month, in Leo from 1°12′ to 12°49′ and never leaving Magha, adds argumentativeness about belief rather than about money. See our financial remedies page.

Home, Family and Partnership

Home is the subject of the month and the news is good in a specific, limited way. Exalted Venus with digbala in your fourth house for the first ten days is the best thing that house has had in two years, and it meets Saturn exactly at 12:18 am on the 8th. Then Saturn leaves the house entirely on 3 June. The limitation is the retrograde return on 20 October, which means the improvement is real but not yet permanent.

Partnership belongs to the last week, when Mercury reaches its own sign in your seventh house. Mercury turns retrograde on 10 June, so the clean window for a formal agreement runs from 23 May to then. If marriage is the question, note that Venus goes combust on 6 July until 17 September, which closes the marriage calendar for that stretch — May and June are the two clean months of 2027. See our marriage delay page.

The fifth house takes over from June, and it is worth knowing now: Saturn arrives there on 3 June, the New Moon of the 6th forms there, and Venus reaches it on the 10th. Anything to do with children, study or creative work is easier in May than it will be after that.

Health

Dhanu Rashi governs the hips, thighs and the liver, and Jupiter — your ruler — is the significator of the liver and of the body’s general expansion. With Jupiter exalted, direct and pulling clear of Ketu, the underlying constitution is well supported this month. The weak point is the fourth house of the mind’s rest: two years of Kantaka Shani generally show up as poor sleep and a low-grade domestic weariness rather than as illness.

The Full Moon in your twelfth house at 4:29 pm on Thursday 20 May argues for the same thing: rest, and attention to sleep in the week around it. Your Chandra days, 4:50 pm on 22 May to 4:52 am on 25 May — sixty hours, one of the two longest windows of the month — are the best time to begin a regimen, and the exalted Sun in your sixth house from the 15th supports treating anything ongoing.

Remedies for Dhanu Rashi in May 2027

Four conditions: Kantaka Shani’s last full month with Saturn in the Pisces gandanta, exalted Venus with digbala in that same fourth house for ten days and exact with Saturn on the 8th, your exalted ruler separating from Ketu in your eighth house, and Rahu on your money house all month.

  • Saturday observance for Shani — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 May: five Saturdays in Kantaka Shani’s last full month, and the 8th carries the exact Venus contact in its first hour. Sesame oil, black til, a peepal lamp after sundown, and something given to someone who works with their hands. See the Shani remedies page and Saturday fasting.
  • Guru worship on the Thursdays — 6, 13, 20 and 27 May: your ruler is exalted, direct, and pulling clear of Ketu, and it reaches your ninth house on 26 June. Turmeric, chana dal, and yellow given to a teacher rather than kept. See weak-Jupiter remedies and Thursday fasting.
  • Shukra observance on Friday 7 May above all: the one Friday of the month that catches Venus exalted and with digbala in your fourth house, on the eve of its contact with Saturn. White cloth, rice and ghee, and something done for the house rather than for yourself. Continue on 14, 21 and 28 May — see Shukra remedies and Friday fasting.
  • Do the fourth-house thing in May or June: the practical remedy. Saturn leaves your fourth house on 3 June and returns to it retrograde on 20 October. The repair, the move, the property decision, the conversation with a parent — these are easier now than in November.
  • Ketu observance while it sits with your ruler: Ketu holds your eighth house all month in Ashlesha, from 22°16′ to 20°37′. Feeding a dog, giving a blanket away, and Ganesha before anything begun. See Ketu remedies and our Rahu–Ketu page.
  • Hanuman worship on the Tuesdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 May: Mars sits in your ninth house in Magha all month, which makes arguments about belief and about teachers more likely. Red flowers, sindoor, Hanuman Chalisa after sunset. See the Mangal remedies page and Tuesday fasting.
  • Watch the income house: Rahu holds your second house all month in Shravana pada 4 without a nakshatra change. Money that arrives from an unusual direction should be treated as temporary until it proves otherwise.
  • Protect the sleep around 20 May: a Full Moon in the twelfth house, at the end of two years of Saturn in the house of the mind’s rest, is the week to under-schedule rather than over-schedule. That is the remedy most likely to be felt.

In Summary

For Dhanu Rashi, May 2027 is the last full month of Kantaka Shani. Saturn spends it in your fourth house, moving from 26°18′ to 29°47′ of Pisces — thirteen arc-minutes from the end of the zodiac, inside the Pisces gandanta all month — and enters your fifth house on 3 June 2027. It returns to your fourth retrograde on 20 October and turns direct there on 24 December, so the relief is real but not yet final.

The month’s gift is Venus. For the first ten days it is exalted in Pisces in that same fourth house, where it also holds digbala — two kinds of strength at once, in the house that has been hardest. It is exact with Saturn at 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May, at 27°08′ of Pisces. It leaves both strengths behind at 8:45 am on Monday 10 May.

Your exalted ruler pulls clear of Ketu in your eighth house through the month — 58 arc-minutes apart on the 1st, 5°32′ by the 31st — and reaches your ninth house on 26 June. The Full Moon of the 20th falls in your twelfth, which argues for rest; your Chandra days run sixty hours, from 4:50 pm on 22 May to 4:52 am on 25 May; and every day of the month is open, inside the longest open run our tables hold. All of it is sign-level: which of the nine Sagittarius padas holds your natal Moon, and where Jupiter, Venus and Saturn sit in your own chart, decides how much lands. For more, read April’s reading, what Dhanu Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our Shani dosh page.

Kantaka Shani ends on 3 June 2027

Two years of Saturn in your fourth house closing, with one retrograde return in October, is worth reading against your own chart — your natal Saturn, your dasha and your Moon’s pada decide what actually lifts.
