What a Sign Pair Can and Cannot Tell You
Ashtakoota awards 36 guna across eight tests. Only three of the eight can be read from two Moon signs: Varna, Graha Maitri and Bhakoot, worth 13 guna between them. The four heaviest tests — Nadi (8), Gana (6), Yoni (4) and Tara (3) — are decided by the birth nakshatra, and Vashya (2) turns on half-sign divisions the authorities assign differently. So a page like this one can give you 13 guna honestly and cannot give you the other 23 at all.
This is worth knowing because most sign-compatibility tools quote a single percentage. There is no classical calculation that produces one from two sign names.

The Three Rashi Kootas / राशि कूट
Taurus and Pisces form the 3/11 axis — Trikonaikadash. Bhakoot is all-or-nothing.
Neutral against enemy. The table is one-sided here: Venus treats Jupiter as neutral, while Jupiter treats Venus as an enemy.
Taurus is Vaishya (merchant — practical, provident) and Pisces is Brahmin (priestly — reflective, values-led). Varna is directional: it scores 1 when the man's varna rank is equal or higher and 0 when it is lower, so this pair scores 1 with the Pisces partner as the man and 0 the other way round.
The 3/11 Axis / भकूट
One sign is 3rd from the other — initiative, siblings, effort — and the other is 11th, the house of gains and fulfilled desire. Bhakoot awards the full 7. The dynamic favours the partner holding the 11th position, who gains from the other's drive, and it is one of the more reliably productive business pairings as well as a domestic one.
The Two Sign Lords in Each Other’s Signs
Guna Milan never asks where each sign’s lord would stand in the other’s sign — but the question is answerable from the two rashis alone, and the answer differs across all 66 pairs of different signs. Venus, the lord of Taurus, is exalted in Pisces, and Jupiter, the lord of Pisces, is in an enemy's sign in Taurus. One direction is strong; the other is unremarkable, which is the common shape.
Lord of Taurus · उच्च · Venus at 27°
Venus rules Taurus and reaches its exaltation in Pisces — Venus at 27°, the highest of the dignities. On this test Pisces is the best possible host for Taurus's lord: whatever Taurus depends on Venus for, Pisces strengthens rather than obstructs.
A dignity is not a score and there is no guna attached to it — this is a statement about how comfortably each sign’s lord sits in the other’s territory, which is the sort of thing an astrologer reads from the chart and a compatibility percentage cannot encode. In a real kundli match it would be weighed against where those planets actually fall in the two birth charts, which can strengthen or override it.
Mobility — Sthira and Dvisvabhava
The twelve rashis divide three ways by mobility: Taurus is Sthira (fixed) and Pisces is Dvisvabhava (dual). Sthira meets Dvisvabhava. The fixed sign supplies the position and the dual sign supplies the flexibility around it, which is a workable arrangement so long as the dual partner's adaptability is not mistaken for agreement.
Mobility carries no guna either, and it is not the same distinction as element — it describes how a sign holds a position rather than what it cares about, which is why it explains a different class of argument from the Earth-versus-Water one below.
Taurus in a Relationship
Taurus commits slowly and then almost immovably. It shows affection through provision — food, comfort, security, physical presence — rather than through declarations, and it expects the same in return.
What it needs
Consistency, physical affection, and no sudden changes to the shared plan. Taurus needs to be told about a decision before it is made, not after.
Where it goes wrong
The stubbornness is total once a position is taken, and possessiveness reads as care from the inside and as control from the outside. Taurus will endure an unhappy situation for years rather than restructure it.
Taurus horoscope →Pisces in a Relationship
Pisces gives more than it is asked for and reads its partner's state before being told. It is romantic in the literal sense — it forms an image of the relationship and then loves the image with real devotion, sometimes past the point where the actual relationship supports it.
What it needs
Gentleness, emotional attunement, and a partner who does not exploit the willingness to give.
Where it goes wrong
The boundaries are porous, so Pisces absorbs the partner's moods and loses its own position. Difficulty is avoided rather than addressed — the escape can be literal — and the idealisation makes it slow to see who the partner actually is.
Pisces horoscope →Where the Friction Sits
Taurus works in Earth and Pisces in Water, which is where the recurring misunderstanding will live. It shows up as a difference in pace and in what each treats as obvious rather than as a difference in intention. Venus and Jupiter set different priorities, and in practice the argument is usually between those two priorities rather than between the two people.
Read the two profiles above against each other and the specific fault line is usually obvious: “The stubbornness is total once a position is taken, and possessiveness reads as care from the inside and as control from the outside” meeting “the boundaries are porous, so Pisces absorbs the partner's moods and loses its own position” is the pattern this pair will keep returning to.

Get the Other 23 Guna
Nadi, Gana, Yoni and Tara account for 21 of the 36 guna and all four need both birth nakshatras — which need birth time and place, not just the sign. Kundli matching calculates the full Ashtakoota, plus Mangal dosha and the 7th house, which sit outside Guna Milan entirely.

How Taurus and Pisces actually get along
Everything above is the arithmetic — the three rashi kootas a kundli match scores, the Bhakuta axis, Venus and Jupiter in each other’s signs. The Taurus and Pisces relationship guide is the other half: how the two communicate, where the friction shows up day to day, and what each tends to want from the other. Read this one for the guna, that one for the relationship.
