Red Coral From All Twelve Ascendants

What Red Coral Must Not Be Worn With

The usual advice is a flat list of forbidden pairs, and it hides the thing that matters: graha friendship runs in two directions and the two directions often disagree. Eleven of the twenty-one pairs rate each other differently depending on which one you ask. Here is red coral against the other six, both ways.

Emerald and Blue Sapphire are one-way enmities — the kind a flat list flattens away. Tradition does not average the two directions: one-way enmity is enough to rule the pairing out. A red coral may be worn alongside ruby, pearl, yellow sapphire and diamond without conflict.

Care: Coral is soft and porous. Remove it before applying perfume, chemicals or chlorinated water, and expect to replace it every few years as the colour dulls.

Judging Quality Before You Buy

Look for even colour with no white patches, no pits and no drilled holes. Coral is organic, not mineral, so it has no crystal shine — a glassy lustre means it is dyed bone or glass.

Prices move with origin, clarity, treatment and the market — treat the band as a sanity check on a quote, not a valuation. Ask for a lab report that names the species and discloses any treatment: what counts as acceptable treatment differs by stone, so a certificate that simply says “natural” is not the one to accept.

How to Wear It

1. Fix the weight first — roughly one ratti per ten kilograms of body weight, three to five ratti as a practical minimum. Confirm whether your jeweller means the 0.9-carat ratti or the traditional 0.12-gram one.
2. Set it in copper or gold with the back left open so the stone rests on the skin. A closed bezel is held to block the graha.
3. Wash the ring in raw milk, honey, ghee, curd and clean water, then place it before Hanuman.
4. Chant ॐ क्रां क्रीं क्रौं सः भौमाय नमः — Om Kraam Kreem Kraum Sah Bhaumaya Namah — 10,000 times, or have the japa performed for you.
5. Wear it on the ring finger of the right hand, putting it on for the first time on Tuesday morning.
6. Fast on Tuesday and watch what the stone does over the first thirty days.

Mars, and What the Stone Is Actually For

The three nakshatras Mars rules — Mrigashira, Chitra and Dhanishta — matter because selecting a stone by janma nakshatra is the more precise of the two routes: a nakshatra spans 13°20′ against a sign's 30°, so it pins the birth Moon to a segment rather than to a whole sign. How much of any one sign that segment covers varies — padas of 3°20′, one to four of the nine a sign is built from — so the per-ascendant pages state it exactly. A birth under any of the three is a case for red coral that the sign table alone would not produce.

Why Aries and Scorpio Both Get Red Coral — but Not Identical Advice

Mars rules both Aries and Scorpio, so both inherit red coral as their primary stone and both are marked as its own sign in the table above. The recommendation is not equally strong for the two, and what splits them is the moolatrikona — the arc where a graha is strongest short of exaltation. For Mars that is Aries 0°–12°. From Aries the graha sits in its own moolatrikona; from Scorpio it is in plain ownership. So red coral stands on marginally firmer ground for Aries than for Scorpio — and that is the only difference between the two. Everything else on this page applies to both equally.

General Rules

• Pause for thirteen days after a death in the family and set the stone aside for that period.
• Do not wear a stone that has been worn by someone else, and do not pass yours on.
• Clean it monthly and re-energise it in moonlight or clean water.
• Replace it once it cracks, clouds or loses colour — tradition treats that as the stone having finished its work.
• If anything worsens sharply in the first thirty days, remove it and have the chart re-read.
