The 5th Lord in Each of the Twelve Houses
Houses here are whole signs: the ascendant’s sign is the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on round the zodiac. The 5th lord is the graha that rules the sign falling in the 5th, so it changes with the ascendant — Sun for Aries, Mercury for Taurus, Venus for Gemini, Mars for Cancer, Jupiter for Leo, Saturn for Virgo, Saturn for Libra, Jupiter for Scorpio, Mars for Sagittarius, Venus for Capricorn, Mercury for Aquarius and Moon for Pisces. In the Parashari method a bhava lord carries the matters of its house to wherever it sits; for the 5th those matters are children, creativity and arts, romance, and higher learning.
