Capricorn Rashifal February 2027 (Makar Rashi): Everything Happens on Your Own Rashi This Month

Published 2026-08-20 | Live Pandit Ji

Of the twelve signs, Makar Rashi has the crowded chart this February. Count what lands on your own rashi in twenty-eight days: Rahu sits there for every one of them; the Sun is there until 10:04 am on Saturday 13 February; the New Moon forms there on the 6th; Mercury reverses into it at 4:46 am on Wednesday the 24th; and Venus walks into it ten hours later, at 3:11 pm the same day. Then, on 3 March, Mercury turns direct there too.

Transits to the first house are about you rather than about a department of your life — health, appearance, standing, initiative, the general question of what you are becoming. February 2027 asks that question a great many times. The one thing that makes it demanding rather than simply eventful is that Rahu is the permanent occupant, and Rahu magnifies whatever it shares a house with.

Rahu on Makar Rashi, and a New Moon in Its Pada

Rahu spends February in Capricorn, moving backwards from 26°59′ to 25°30′, and it stays in the sign until 24 June 2028. So this is not a passing condition — Rahu is on your rashi for another sixteen months. What it produces is ambition that runs ahead of circumstances, sudden visibility, foreign or unfamiliar involvements, and a persistent sense that the current arrangement is not enough.

The New Moon of February makes that specific. It forms at 9:26 pm on Saturday 6 February at 23°24′ of Capricorn — 3°16′ short of Rahu, and, more pointedly, in the same quarter of the same nakshatra. Both are in the first pada of Dhanishta, which spans 23°20′ to 26°40′ of Capricorn. Dhanishta’s lord is Mars, which is retrograde in your eighth house, and its deities are the Vasus.

A New Moon on the rashi is normally the month’s best date for beginning something personal. With Rahu three degrees away in the same pada, and the nakshatra lord reversed, the honest version of the advice is narrower: it is an excellent date to begin a discipline and a poor one to begin a commitment. Start the practice, the regimen, the study. Do not sign, and do not accept the offer that arrives that weekend sounding better than it is.

Three days later the Sun reaches Rahu’s exact degree — 26°30′ of Capricorn, at 11:05 pm on Tuesday 9 February. The Sun crossing Rahu on your own rashi is the month’s most exposed moment: a day when what you want and what is visible about you are both amplified, and judgement is the thing in shortest supply. Three minutes earlier, Mercury stations retrograde. There is no classical yoga in that coincidence — it is the calendar, not the doctrine — but the practical effect of a communication reversing at the same hour as that crossing is worth respecting. Send nothing important that night.

The Solar Month Ends on the 13th

The Sun is on your rashi from the start of February until 10:04 am on Saturday 13 February, when it crosses into Aquarius. That instant is the Kumbha Sankranti ingress, and it moves the Sun into your second house of wealth, speech and family for the rest of the month.

The first thirteen days therefore carry the tail of your solar year — the Sun on the Moon sign is a period of assertion, of being noticed, and of slightly more heat in the constitution than usual. From the 13th the emphasis moves to money and to what you say. Combined with Mercury retrograde in that same second house from the 9th until the 24th, the middle of February is a stretch for reviewing accounts and re-reading contracts rather than agreeing them.

Exalted Jupiter in Your Seventh House

Cancer is the seventh house from Capricorn, and Jupiter is exalted there for all of February, retrograde, moving from 29°09′ back to 25°32′. This is the strongest benefic placement your chart will see for a decade: Jupiter holds Cancer until 26 June 2027 and then does not return until 2038.

The seventh is marriage, business partnership, contracts, and the public you deal with. An exalted Jupiter there is classically excellent for all four — it favours partners who are older, wiser or better placed than you, and it favours agreements that are generous rather than merely fair. For unmarried Makar natives this is the sort of transit under which a match is made; for those in business, the sort under which a partner or a large client arrives.

Ketu is in the same house, closing from 26°59′ to 25°30′, and the two converge to an exact conjunction on Monday 1 March at 25°27′ of Cancer. The classical Guru Chandal yoga is Jupiter with Rahu; whether the label extends to Jupiter with Ketu is genuinely disputed among later authorities, so it is better left unasserted. The arithmetic is not disputed, and Ketu’s nature is detachment — so the reading is that the partnership opportunity is real and that something in your attachment to partnership is loosening at the same time. Both can be true.

Note the March complication so it does not arrive unannounced: Mars reverses into Cancer at 12:30 am on 10 March, still retrograde, and Cancer is where Mars is debilitated. Your seventh house gains a weak, reversed Mars in early March. February is the clean part of this window; if there is a partnership conversation to have, have it now.

Saturn in a Favourable House — Until June

Saturn rules Makar Rashi, so its position matters more to you than to most signs. It is in Pisces all February, direct, advancing from 16°01′ to 18°49′, and Pisces is your third house — one of the three houses where Saturn’s transit from the natal Moon is classically favourable, the others being the sixth and the eleventh.

A third-house Saturn supports exactly what the third house governs: effort, courage, initiative, short journeys, siblings, and written or spoken work. It is the placement under which sustained ordinary labour actually pays. Saturn crosses into Revati, the twenty-seventh and final nakshatra of the zodiac, on Monday 8 February, and remains in it for the rest of its stay in the sign.

Then comes the change that matters most to Capricorn this year. Saturn leaves Pisces for Aries on 3 June 2027 — the fourth house from Makar Rashi, which is the position classically named Kantaka Shani, the thorn. It is one of the three named difficult Saturn transits, alongside the twelfth, first and second of Sade Sati and the eighth of Ardha Ashtama Shani. Saturn then retrogrades back into Pisces on 20 October 2027, giving you a reprieve, and settles into Aries on 23 February 2028.

The practical reading of that: February 2027 sits inside the good half of a two-year Saturn arc. The domestic and property pressure comes later. What you build with effort now is what will hold when it does.

February’s Dated Events for Makar Rashi

  • 6 February — the New Moon forms on your rashi at 23°24′ of Capricorn, in Rahu’s own pada of Dhanishta (9:26 pm).
  • 8 February — Saturn, your ruler, enters Revati in your third house.
  • 9 February — Mercury stations retrograde in your second house at 11°45′ of Aquarius (11:05 pm).
  • 9 February — in the same minute, the Sun reaches Rahu’s exact degree on your rashi, 26°30′ of Capricorn (11:05 pm).
  • 13 February — the Sun leaves your rashi for your second house at the Kumbha Sankranti ingress (10:04 am).
  • 18 February — the Sun and retrograde Mercury meet at 5°34′ of Aquarius, in your second house (10:09 pm).
  • 21 February — the Full Moon fills your eighth house at 7°51′ of Leo, 1°51′ from retrograde Mars (4:53 am).
  • 24 February — Mercury reverses back onto your rashi (4:46 am), and Venus arrives on it ten hours and twenty-five minutes later (3:11 pm).
  • 1 March — exalted Jupiter and Ketu meet exactly in your seventh house at 25°27′ of Cancer, on Monday 1 March.
  • 3 March — Mercury turns direct on your rashi at 26°41′ of Capricorn, which closes the month’s unfinished business (6:02 pm).

Week by Week

Monday 1 to Sunday 7 February

The Sun is on your rashi and Mercury is still direct, which makes this the strongest week of the month for initiative. The New Moon of Saturday the 6th falls on the rashi itself — begin the discipline then, not the contract. Saturn enters Revati on the Sunday.

Monday 8 to Sunday 14 February

The hinge week. Tuesday the 9th holds Mercury’s station at 11:05 pm and the Sun on Rahu at 11:05 pm, which is the month’s single most exposed hour. Then the Sun leaves your rashi on Saturday the 13th at 10:04 am and the personal emphasis gives way to a financial one.

Monday 15 to Sunday 21 February

A second-house week with the Sun and a retrograde Mercury both in it, meeting exactly on Thursday the 18th at 10:09 pm. Money and speech are the subjects and revision is the mode: check the statement, re-read the agreement, follow up on the invoice. It closes with the Full Moon in your eighth house before dawn on Sunday the 21st.

Monday 22 to Sunday 28 February

Wednesday the 24th brings two planets onto your rashi within a single day. Venus there is the pleasant part — it is the best signature of the month for how you are received. Mercury, still retrograde until 3 March, is the part that says finish rather than launch. The last four days feel better than the first ten did.

The Full Moon in Your Eighth House

Leo is the eighth house from Capricorn, and Mars is retrograde in it all month, retreating from 13°06′ to 3°11′ entirely inside Magha nakshatra. The Full Moon then forms on it: 4:53 am on Sunday 21 February, at 7°51′ of Leo, 1°51′ from Mars at 6°00′.

The eighth house is hidden matters, joint money, inheritance, and things that surface without warning. A retrograde Mars there with a Full Moon landing on it usually means an old buried matter coming up — a debt, a shared account, a family question about property — with more force than its size warrants. Magha’s deities are the Pitrs, the ancestors, and its lord is Ketu, which sits in your seventh house, so the matter often turns out to be a family one dressed as a financial one. Mars turns direct on 1 April 2027 at 7:42 pm, which is when it settles.

Work, Money and Health

Your tenth house, Libra, is empty this month, so career runs without external interference and takes its direction from the first house instead — which is to say from you. With Saturn favourably placed in the third house of effort, February rewards straightforward hard work more than manoeuvring. That is the Capricorn mode anyway.

Money is the month’s awkward department. The second house takes the Sun from the 13th and holds a retrograde Mercury from the 9th to the 24th, and the eighth house has a retrograde Mars with a Full Moon on it. Neither is a disaster; together they say the same thing twice — audit rather than commit. Chase what is owed, correct what is wrong, and postpone the new financial arrangement until after Mercury turns direct on 3 March.

On health, the Sun on the rashi for the first thirteen days classically brings a little more heat and a little less stamina than usual, and Rahu on the rashi all year tends to disturb sleep and appetite. The New Moon of the 6th, forming on your own sign, is the best date of the month to begin a regimen — and the retrograde Mars until 1 April 2027 is the reason to keep that regimen steady rather than intense.

Remedies for Makar Rashi in February 2027

The chart’s demands are clear: Rahu is on your rashi and takes both a New Moon and the Sun; your ruler Saturn is favourably placed and should be kept that way; an exalted Jupiter in the seventh is worth supporting; and a retrograde Mercury reverses onto your own sign.

  • Rahu measures, seriously and all month: Rahu is on Makar Rashi until 24 June 2028, sits 3°16′ from the New Moon of the 6th, and takes the Sun exactly on the 9th. Mustard oil given away rather than used, feeding a stray dog, and something dark-coloured donated; the Rahu–Ketu page has the fuller set and the Kaal Sarp page covers the axis.
  • Begin a discipline on Saturday the 6th, not a commitment: the direct reading of a New Moon on the rashi in Rahu’s pada with the nakshatra lord retrograde. The practice will hold; the contract will need redoing.
  • Send nothing important on the night of the 9th: Mercury stations at 11:05 pm and the Sun crosses Rahu on your rashi at 11:05 pm. Two independent reasons to wait until morning.
  • Saturday observance for Shani — 6, 13, 20 and 27 February: Saturn rules your sign and is in one of its three favourable transit houses until 3 June 2027, when Kantaka Shani begins in your fourth. Sesame oil and iron, black til, and a peepal lamp after sundown. Our Shani remedies page gives the forms, Saturday fasting the discipline, and the weak-Saturn remedies the longer treatment.
  • Do the effortful thing while Saturn is in your third: the qualification, the manuscript, the long-postponed course. A third-house Saturn pays for sustained ordinary labour, and it ends on 3 June 2027.
  • Guru worship on the Thursdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 February: exalted Jupiter in your seventh house is the best partnership transit available before 2038, and it closes on 26 June 2027. Turmeric, chana dal, and a yellow cloth given to an elder; see the weak-Jupiter remedies.
  • Have the partnership conversation in February, not March: a debilitated retrograde Mars enters your seventh house on 10 March. The window is now.
  • Wednesday care with words — 3, 10, 17 and 24 February: Mercury is retrograde from the 9th, reverses onto your own rashi on the 24th, and turns direct on 3 March, itself a Wednesday. Green moong and something written given away, and read every document twice.
  • Ancestral remembrance around the 21st: the Full Moon falls in Magha in your eighth house, whose deities are the Pitrs and whose lord Ketu sits in your seventh. Water offered facing south and a simple tarpan; the Pitra Dosh page has the observances.

In Summary

February 2027 concentrates on Makar Rashi itself. Rahu holds your rashi throughout and until 24 June 2028. The Sun is on it until 10:04 am on Saturday the 13th. The New Moon forms on it at 9:26 pm on Saturday the 6th, at 23°24′ of Capricorn, in the same pada of Dhanishta that Rahu occupies. The Sun crosses Rahu there at 11:05 pm on Tuesday the 9th. Mercury reverses onto it at 4:46 am on Wednesday the 24th and Venus follows at 3:11 pm the same day, and Mercury turns direct on it at 6:02 pm on 3 March.

That is a month about you rather than about your circumstances, and the correct use of it is to begin things that depend only on your own persistence. Rahu near a New Moon inflates whatever is offered from outside; Saturn favourably placed in your third house pays for whatever is done from inside. The distinction is the whole reading.

The two supporting stories are an exalted Jupiter with Ketu in your seventh house, meeting exactly on 1 March and holding until 26 June 2027 — the decade’s best partnership window, with a debilitated Mars arriving in it from 10 March — and a Full Moon at 7°51′ of Leo in your eighth house at 4:53 am on Sunday the 21st, 1°51′ from a retrograde Mars, which is the month’s difficult morning.

The date to mark beyond February is 3 June 2027, when your own ruler leaves its favourable third house for your fourth and Kantaka Shani begins. How heavily any of this falls depends on your Moon’s degree — Makar’s three nakshatras answer to three different lords, Uttara Ashadha to the Sun, Shravana to the Moon, Dhanishta to Mars, and a Dhanishta Moon takes this particular New Moon far more personally than a Shravana one. The pada-level treatment of Makar Rashi works through that, the Saturn guide matters because Saturn rules your sign, and January’s reading covers what set this up.

Is your Moon in Dhanishta?

The New Moon of 6 February and Rahu share a single pada — 23°20′ to 26°40′ of Capricorn. Whether your natal Moon sits inside it changes this month completely, and only a chart can tell you.
