Capricorn Rashifal July 2027 (Makara Rashi): The Full Moon of Guru Purnima Forms on Your Own Sign

Published 2026-08-22 | Live Pandit Ji

Of the twelve signs, one gets the month’s biggest event landing directly on itself, and this month it is yours. The Full Moon of Sunday 18 July at 9:14 pm forms at 1°36′ of Capricorn, in Uttara Ashadha pada 2 — on Makara Rashi. That is Guru Purnima, the fullest Moon of the four-month observance year, and it forms on your sign rather than merely in your house.

It also forms inside the month’s longest lunar window. The Moon reaches Capricorn at 6:03 pm on 18 July and leaves at 7:03 am on Wednesday 21 July — sixty-one hours exactly, longer than any other sign gets in July 2027, because the Moon is near apogee and moving at its slowest. The Full Moon arrives three hours eleven minutes into that window. You get the peak of the month at the start of your best stretch of it.

Two things complicate it. Rahu is on Makara Rashi for the entire month, moving backwards from 19°02′ to 17°23′ and staying in Shravana pada 3 throughout. And your ruling planet Saturn is debilitated in Aries, in your fourth house of home and mother, all thirty-one days. The Full Moon is on your sign; the ruler of your sign is in its weakest position.

The Full Moon on Your Sign, and Where Rahu Actually Is

The distance matters, so here it is: on 18 July the Full Moon is at 1°36′ of Capricorn and Rahu is at roughly 19° of the same sign. That is a separation of about seventeen and a half degrees — the same sign, but nowhere near a conjunction. A lot of popular writing collapses “Full Moon in the sign Rahu occupies” into “Full Moon with Rahu,” and the two are not the same claim. Yours is the first: the lunation is in your sign, well clear of the node.

What a Full Moon on the rashi does is show you yourself at full illumination for one night. It is the classical signature for a matter that has been building for six months becoming visible — not resolved, visible. Since the previous New Moon on your sign was in January, that is the arc it closes. And because it is Guru Purnima, the mirror it holds up is specifically about what you have learned and from whom.

Rahu on the rashi all month is a separate and longer story. Rahu in the first house is classically restless ambition — a strong drive to be seen, a tendency to want the unconventional route, and a habit of overestimating what you can carry. It has been on Makara since 2026 and stays into 2027. Read our Rahu–Ketu remedies page; the honest use of a Rahu transit is to notice the appetite rather than obey it.

Five Saturdays, and a Debilitated Ruler in Your Fourth House

July has thirty-one days running Thursday to Saturday, which gives it five Saturdays — the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. For a Saturn-ruled sign whose ruler is debilitated for the whole month, that is the most practically useful weekday count the calendar could have produced. Five Shanivars for a Shani in Mesha.

Saturn covers only 2°18′ to 3°34′ in thirty-one days — one degree sixteen minutes, the slowest of the seven visible bodies. It clears 3°20′ of Aries around 22 July, which takes it out of the Revati–Ashwini gandanta it entered on 3 June. We give that as a date, not a minute: at 0.035° a day, a two-arcminute disagreement between one ayanamsa and another shifts the crossing by about two days, so a printed time would be false precision.

The fourth house is home, mother, property and inner peace, and a debilitated Saturn there is the month’s real difficulty for Makara — not dramatic, but grinding. Household repairs that keep needing more work. An older woman in the family who needs attention. A property matter that will not close. The gandanta clearing around the 22nd usually corresponds to the point where it stops feeling stuck and starts merely being slow. The griha pravesh muhurat page for July 2027 shows what the month’s closures leave, which is very little.

Your Sixth House Empties Into Your Seventh

Three planets sit in your sixth house of illness, debt and obstacles for the first half of the month — the Sun, Mercury in its own sign of Gemini, and Venus. The New Moon of 8:32 am on Sunday 4 July forms there too, at 17°42′ of Gemini in Ardra pada 4. Planets in the sixth house are one of the few placements the classics read as helpful for a malefic and mixed for a benefic: they work on your difficulties, and they also put you in the middle of them.

Then all three leave for your seventh house of partnership, one at a time, behind Ketu: the Sun at 5:42 am on Saturday 17 July at Karka Sankranti, Venus at 1:42 am on Friday 23 July, and Mercury at 6:28 pm on Friday 30 July. Ketu has been on Cancer, your seventh house, all month at 19°02′ falling to 17°23′ in Ashlesha pada 1.

Mercury also turns direct at 1:10 am on Monday 5 July at 3°52′ of Gemini, in your sixth house, after twenty-five days retrograde — a station is intrinsic to the planet’s apparent motion, so it is safe to the minute in a way an ingress at low speed is not. Before that, Mercury and Venus are exact in your sixth house at 2:52 pm on Thursday 1 July at 3°41′ of Gemini, the only exact conjunction anywhere in July 2027. For Makara that puts the month’s single conjunction in the house of debt and health.

Jupiter and Mars in the Eighth, Then Mars Moves On

Jupiter holds your eighth house for all of July, running 0°51′ to 6°54′ of Leo entirely inside Magha, and changing pada on 14 July and 30 July. Mars shares that house for the first four days, at 27°44′ against Jupiter’s 0°51′ — the same house, twenty-seven degrees apart, so not a conjunction — and leaves for your ninth house at 4:24 am on Monday 5 July.

Jupiter in the eighth is not the placement anyone hopes for, but it is a benefic in the house of inheritance, insurance, joint finances and things hidden, and its usual practical form is that an obscure matter turns out to have been provided for. Occult study, research, and anything requiring you to look at what you have been avoiding all improve under it. Mars leaving for the ninth from the 5th moves the aggressive energy to dharma, travel and the father, where it does less damage: it enters Hasta at 7:19 pm on Thursday 22 July.

The Month’s Fixed Points

  • Thursday 1 July, 2:52 pm — Mercury and Venus are exact at 3°41′ of Gemini, in your sixth house. The only exact conjunction in July 2027.
  • Friday 2 July — Mercury clears 12° from the Sun and is no longer combust.
  • Sunday 4 July, 8:32 am — the New Moon forms in your sixth house at 17°42′ of Gemini, in Ardra pada 4. That day’s panchang.
  • Monday 5 July, 1:10 am — Mercury turns direct at 3°52′ of Gemini, in its own sign, in your sixth house.
  • Monday 5 July, 4:24 am — Mars leaves your eighth house for your ninth. Jagannath Rath Yatra, and the last classically clear wedding day of the 82-day run. Panchang for the day.
  • Tuesday 6 July — Shukra asta begins; Venus is combust until 17 September.
  • Tuesday 6 July, 6:01 pm — the Sun enters Punarvasu in your sixth house.
  • Wednesday 14 July — Devshayani Ekadashi; Chaturmas begins and runs to 10 November. Jupiter reaches Magha pada 2 in your eighth house the same day. Panchang for the day.
  • Saturday 17 July, 5:42 am — the Sun leaves your sixth house for your seventh, joining Ketu. Karka Sankranti, and the sidereal start of Dakshinayana. It is also the third of five Saturdays.
  • Sunday 18 July, 6:03 pm — the Moon arrives on Makara Rashi and stays sixty-one hours, the longest window of the month.
  • Sunday 18 July, 9:14 pm — the Full Moon forms ON your sign at 1°36′ of Capricorn, in Uttara Ashadha pada 2, three hours eleven minutes into your Chandra window. Guru Purnima. Panchang for the day.
  • Tuesday 20 July, 5:35 pm — the Sun enters Pushya in your seventh house.
  • Wednesday 21 July, 7:03 am — the Moon leaves Capricorn. Your window closes.
  • Thursday 22 July, 7:19 pm — Mars enters Hasta in your ninth house. Saturn clears 3°20′ of Aries in your fourth around the same date, leaving the gandanta.
  • Friday 23 July, 1:42 am — Venus crosses into your seventh house, still combust.
  • Sunday 25 July, 3:39 am — Mercury enters Punarvasu; Venus reaches Pushya at 6:44 pm.
  • Friday 30 July, 6:28 pm — Mercury leaves your sixth house for your seventh, emptying the sixth. Jupiter enters Magha pada 3 in your eighth the same day.

Week by Week

Thirty-one days, Thursday to Saturday. Five Saturdays, five Fridays and five Thursdays; only four each of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The five Shanivars are the ones to plan around, with your ruler debilitated for the whole month.

1–7 July

The month’s densest week, all of it in your sixth house. Mercury and Venus are exact there at 2:52 pm on Thursday the 1st, Mercury leaves combustion on Friday the 2nd, the New Moon forms in that house at 8:32 am on Sunday the 4th, and Mercury turns direct at 1:10 am on Monday the 5th. The same Monday, Mars leaves your eighth house at 4:24 am and Rath Yatra falls. A New Moon in the sixth is a good reset on health routines and on a debt you have been ignoring — but not a week to start anything that needs momentum.

8–14 July

Quiet until Wednesday the 14th, which carries Devshayani Ekadashi, the start of Chaturmas to 10 November, Mercury re-entering Ardra at 1:58 am, Jupiter reaching Magha pada 2 in your eighth house, and Venus entering Punarvasu at 10:19 pm. With Jupiter in your eighth, beginning a four-month observance is well aimed: the eighth house rewards discipline applied to what you would rather not examine.

15–21 July

Your week, and the best of the year so far. Karka Sankranti at 5:42 am on Saturday the 17th empties one planet out of your sixth house and into your seventh. Then Sunday the 18th: the Moon arrives on Makara Rashi at 6:03 pm, and the Full Moon of Guru Purnima forms on your sign at 9:14 pm, three hours eleven minutes later, with the Purnima tithi ending at that instant. The Moon stays on your sign until 7:03 am on Wednesday the 21st — sixty-one hours, the longest window any sign gets this month. The Sun enters Pushya at 5:35 pm on Tuesday the 20th.

22–28 July

The week your ruler improves slightly. Saturn clears 3°20′ of Aries in your fourth house around Thursday the 22nd, leaving the gandanta it has been in since 3 June, and Mars enters Hasta in your ninth at 7:19 pm the same day. Venus crosses into your seventh house at 1:42 am on Friday the 23rd, combust. Saturday the 24th is the fourth Shanivar and the first one with Saturn out of the gandanta — worth using.

29–31 July

Mercury leaves your sixth house at 6:28 pm on Friday the 30th, so the house of debt and illness ends the month empty after holding three planets and a New Moon. Jupiter reaches Magha pada 3 the same day. Saturday the 31st is the fifth Shanivar, and closing the month with a Shani observance is the most sensible thing a Makara reader can do with it.

Career and Money for Makara Rashi

Your tenth house of career is Libra and empty all month, and its ruler Venus is combust from the 6th — so career is not where the month’s energy is. The compensating factor is Rahu on your rashi, which is ambitious and visible whether or not the tenth house cooperates. That combination often produces the same outcome twice: a strong personal push, and an environment that does not respond as fast as you want. Do not read the delay as rejection.

Money has two real signals. Your second house of income is Aquarius, empty, ruled by the same debilitated Saturn — so income is steady rather than growing. And Jupiter in your eighth house all month covers joint finance, insurance, inheritance and anything owed to you through someone else. With Jupiter there and Venus combust from the 6th, this is a good fortnight for discovering what a shared arrangement is actually worth and a poor one for signing a figure. See our financial remedies page.

The sixth house filling up until the 17th is the debt-and-obstacle house, and having the Sun, Mercury and a New Moon in it is genuinely useful for that specific job: restructuring a loan, disputing a bill, dealing with a matter you have let drift. Mercury turning direct on the 5th in that house is the switch. See also our career remedies page.

Home, Family and Partnership

Home is the month’s pressure point. Debilitated Saturn in your fourth house for all thirty-one days, inside a gandanta until about the 22nd, is the classical description of a household under slow strain — property that will not resolve, a mother who needs care, repairs that reveal more repairs. The instruction is patience and small consistent action rather than a large intervention, and the five Saturdays are the days to direct it. See our Shani dosh page.

Partnership picks up in the second half as the seventh house fills behind Ketu — the Sun on the 17th, Venus on the 23rd, Mercury on the 30th. Ketu in the seventh all month tends to read as detachment in a relationship: not conflict, but a sense of having less to say. Planets arriving there push conversation back, particularly once Mercury lands on the 30th. Note the calendar though: the 82-day open run for weddings ends on 5 July, Venus is combust from the 6th, and Chaturmas from the 14th, so July is not a month for a ceremony. The marriage muhurat page for July 2027 sets out why.

Children and creative work sit in your fifth house, Taurus, empty and ruled by combust Venus — quiet, and needing you to initiate rather than waiting for something to happen. If there is a samskara to plan, the child samskara page for July 2027 shows what the closures leave.

Health

Your sixth house holds three planets and a New Moon until the middle of the month, which is the clearest health signal any sign gets this July. Read it as attention rather than illness: the house of the body’s difficulties is lit up, so what has been quietly wrong tends to declare itself. Mercury turning direct there on the 5th is a good point to book the appointment you have been postponing. Saturn debilitated in the fourth also correlates with sleep and with the chest, in a Capricorn chart.

For anything you want to begin, the Chandra window is exceptional this month: 6:03 pm on 18 July to 7:03 am on 21 July, sixty-one hours, the longest of any sign, with the Full Moon of Guru Purnima three hours eleven minutes into it. Begin inside it and the Moon is on your own sign for two and a half days. Brahma muhurta on the 19th and 20th, with the Moon still on Makara, is the strongest pair of mornings in your month.

Remedies for Makara Rashi in July 2027

Four conditions define the month: the Full Moon of Guru Purnima forming on your own sign; Rahu on the rashi all thirty-one days; your ruler debilitated in the fourth house, in a gandanta until about the 22nd; and three planets plus a New Moon in your sixth house until mid-month.

  • Shani observance on the Saturdays — 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 July: the month’s central practice. Your ruler is debilitated all thirty-one days and July hands you five Shanivars. Sesame oil, black til, mustard oil to a peepal after sundown, and a lamp for the household rather than for yourself. See Shani remedies and Saturday fasting.
  • Guru Purnima on Sunday 18 July, with the Full Moon on your own sign at 9:14 pm: no other sign gets the lunation on itself this month. Honour a teacher formally, and do it before or at that instant rather than the following morning.
  • Rahu practice for a first-house transit: Rahu is on Makara all month in Shravana pada 3. Something given away regularly — food, time, money — is the classical counterweight to Rahu in the first, because it works directly against the appetite the transit inflames. See our Rahu remedies and the Rahu–Ketu page.
  • Shukra observance on the Fridays — 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 July: Venus rules your fifth and tenth houses, both empty, and is combust from the 6th. White cloth, rice, ghee, something fragrant offered rather than worn. See Shukra remedies and Friday fasting.
  • Guru worship on the Thursdays — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 July: Jupiter holds your eighth house all month, changing pada on the 14th and 30th. Turmeric, chana dal, and yellow given rather than worn. See weak-Jupiter remedies and Thursday fasting.
  • Use the sixth house while it is full: a debt, a dispute or a health matter you have been avoiding is easiest to move between 5 July, when Mercury turns direct there, and 17 July, when the Sun leaves.
  • Keep 18 to 21 July clear: sixty-one hours of Moon on your own sign, opening with the Full Moon of Guru Purnima. The best window Makara gets in the month, and possibly in the quarter.

In Summary

For Makara Rashi, July 2027 is the month the calendar points at you. The Full Moon of 18 July at 9:14 pm forms at 1°36′ of Capricorn, on your own sign, in Uttara Ashadha pada 2 — and it is Guru Purnima. It arrives three hours eleven minutes into the longest Chandra window of the month: 6:03 pm on 18 July to 7:03 am on 21 July, sixty-one hours exactly. Rahu is in the same sign but about seventeen and a half degrees away, so the lunation is well clear of the node.

The counterweight is your ruler. Saturn is debilitated in Aries in your fourth house of home and mother for all thirty-one days, covering just 1°16′ and leaving the Revati–Ashwini gandanta around 22 July. July hands you five Saturdays to work against that, which is the best weekday count it could have given a Saturn-ruled sign in this configuration.

Elsewhere: your sixth house holds three planets and a New Moon until mid-month and empties into your seventh behind Ketu by 6:28 pm on 30 July; Jupiter holds your eighth house all month; Mars leaves your eighth for your ninth at 4:24 am on 5 July. All of it is sign-level. Which of the nine Capricorn padas holds your natal Moon, where Saturn sits in your own chart, and which dasha is running decide how much of it lands. For more, read June’s reading, what Makara Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our page on strengthening a weak Saturn.

The Full Moon of Guru Purnima forms on your sign

Whether a lunation on the rashi reaches you depends on which of your padas holds the natal Moon and where Saturn sits in your own chart — a sign-level reading cannot settle that.
