Leo Rashifal May 2027 (Simha Rashi): Mars Camps on Your Sign, Ashtama Shani’s Last Full Month

Published 2026-08-21 | Live Pandit Ji

Mars is on Simha Rashi for every one of the 31 days of May 2027, and it barely moves. It begins the month at 1°12′ of Leo and ends it at 12°49′ — 11°37′ in thirty-one days, about half its usual pace, because it is still recovering speed after its long retrograde earlier in the year. It stays inside Magha from the first day to the last, crossing all four padas and finishing thirty-one arc-minutes short of leaving the nakshatra.

Mars entered Leo on 26 April 2027 and does not leave for Virgo until 4:24 am on 5 July 2027 — a seventy-day stay on your own sign. May is the middle of it, and the middle is where a slow Mars is felt most: the energy is there, the outlet is not, and what should be initiative becomes irritation.

The second thing to know is that Saturn is in your eighth house — Ashtama Shani — and this is its last full month there. Saturn moves from 26°18′ to 29°47′ of Pisces and enters Aries and your ninth house on 3 June 2027. Two of the hardest things in your chart are ending within eight weeks of each other, and neither ends in May.

The Sun–Mars Exchange Ends at 12:14 pm on 15 May

Here is the fact that belongs to Simha Rashi and to nothing else this month. Your ruler, the Sun, spends the first fifteen days of May exalted in Aries — which is Mars’s sign. Mars spends the whole month in Leo — which is the Sun’s sign. Each planet is sitting in the other’s house. That is a parivartana yoga, a mutual exchange, and it is the closest thing classical astrology has to a formal alliance between two planets.

It began at 11:28 am on 26 April, when Mars entered Leo, and it ends at exactly 12:14 pm on Saturday 15 May, when the Sun leaves Aries for Taurus at Vrishabha Sankranti. Not a day either side — the instant the Sun changes sign, the exchange dissolves.

While it holds, Mars on your rashi is working for the Sun rather than against it: the aggression has a purpose, the energy finds a direction, and physical courage is unusually available. After 12:14 pm on the 15th, Mars is still on your sign but the arrangement is gone, and the same Mars reads much more like plain heat. The practical instruction is unusually clear for a rashifal: the physically demanding thing, the confrontation you have decided to have, the initiative that needs nerve — put it before midday on 15 May.

Ashtama Shani’s Last Full Month

Saturn in the eighth house from the Moon sign is Ashtama Shani, and it has the reputation it has for a reason: the eighth is the house of upheaval, hidden things, inheritance, chronic conditions and the slow dismantling of what you thought was settled. Saturn there does not strike; it erodes. For Simha Rashi that has been running since Saturn entered Pisces.

In May, Saturn crosses from the third pada of Revati into the fourth in the first days of the month, and stays there. That fourth pada is the gandanta — the last 3°20′ of Pisces joined to the first 3°20′ of Aries, the junction between the water sign that ends the zodiac and the fire sign that begins it. Saturn spends all of May inside it, ending at 29°47′, thirteen arc-minutes from the end. At 0.11° a day the pada crossing is a matter of a day, not a minute, so we do not date it more finely.

Saturn in a gandanta in your eighth house is the most honest description of what late Ashtama Shani feels like: the thing is nearly over, and the last stretch is the least stable. It ends at 3 June, when Saturn moves into your ninth house — a far kinder placement, where it examines your beliefs instead of your foundations. Our Shani dosh page and Sade Sati page both cover what Saturn does and does not do in these positions.

Exalted Venus in the Eighth, Exact With Saturn on 8 May

Venus begins May exalted in Pisces at 18°38′, in that same eighth house, and it is exact with Saturn at 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May, at 27°08′ of Pisces — the first hour of the day, inside the gandanta. Exalted Venus meeting Saturn in the eighth house is the single most interesting minute of the month for you: the planet of grace at maximum strength, in the house of upheaval, meeting the planet doing the upheaving.

Read it as relief arriving in the place that has been hardest — a settlement, a piece of clarity about money that is not yours, a relationship in that eighth-house territory becoming easier. Venus then leaves exaltation at 8:45 am on Monday 10 May, entering Aries and Ashwini in your ninth house, and enters Bharani at 8:00 am on Friday 21 May. Venus in the ninth is a good, light placement: travel, teachers, and a general widening.

The Moon Is on Your Sign When the Sun Changes Sign

Your Chandra days — the stretch when the Moon is physically on Simha Rashi — run from 1:40 pm on Thursday 13 May to 5:52 pm on Saturday 15 May. The Sankranti falls at 12:14 pm on the 15th, which is inside that window. So the Moon is sitting on your own sign at the instant your ruler changes sign and the parivartana ends.

That is a coincidence of the calendar rather than a classical yoga, but it is a useful one: the two and a half days in which you are most emotionally present are also the days on which the month turns. If there is a decision that needs both nerve and feeling — and for Simha Rashi those usually come apart — the 13th to the 15th is where the month puts them together.

Your Ruler Climbs to the Career House

The Sun is exalted in your ninth house until 12:14 pm on the 15th — fortune, father, teachers, dharma, at maximum strength. It enters Krittika at 1:22 am on Wednesday 12 May, then moves to Taurus and your tenth house of career at the Sankranti, and enters Rohini at 9:39 pm on Tuesday 25 May, ending the month at 15°51′ of Taurus.

An exalted ninth-house Sun followed by a tenth-house Sun is a good sequence for your ruler: conviction first, then position. Mercury runs a few days ahead of it, entering Taurus and your tenth at 12:34 pm on Thursday 6 May and then Gemini and your eleventh at 6:28 pm on Sunday 23 May. Mercury covers 50°11′ in May, more than any other body, and it opens the month combust, having been exact with the Sun on 29 April; the gap reaches 14° on about the 11th and nearly 23° on the 27th. So the professional paperwork belongs to the middle of the month, and the negotiating to the last week.

The Lunations, and Every Day Open

The New Moon forms at 4:28 pm on Thursday 6 May at 21°30′ of Aries, in the third pada of Bharani, in your ninth house — and the parivartana is still running, so it is a good moment to commit to a direction. The Full Moon forms at 4:29 pm on Thursday 20 May at 5°00′ of Scorpio, in the first pada of Anuradha, in your fourth house of home and mother, fourteen days and one minute later. The Moon is in Scorpio from 7:02 am on the 20th to 4:50 pm on Saturday the 22nd.

A Full Moon in the fourth house, opposite Rahu’s axis and with Mars on your rashi, brings the household into the centre of the week. Nothing blocks it: all 31 days of May 2027 are open — no Kharmas, no Holashtak, no Chaturmas, no Adhika Maas, and neither Jupiter nor Venus combust. May sits inside an unbroken run of 82 open days from 15 April to 5 July 2027, the longest in the two years our tables cover, which ends only because Venus goes combust on 6 July.

The Month’s Fixed Points

  • 26 June 2027, 4:48 am — exalted Jupiter leaves your twelfth house and arrives on Simha Rashi.
  • 5 July 2027, 4:24 am — Mars finally leaves your sign for Virgo, after seventy days.

Week by Week

Thirty-one days, Saturday to Monday, so five Saturdays, five Sundays and five Mondays. The Sun rules Simha Rashi, so your day is Sunday, and there are five of them: 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 May. The 2nd and 9th catch your ruler exalted.

1–7 May

A strong week if you use it physically and a poor one if you use it on paperwork. The exalted Sun is in your ninth house, Mars is on your rashi, and the exchange between them is running — but Mercury is combust in the ninth at the start, having been exact with the Sun on 29 April, and moves to your tenth at 12:34 pm on Thursday the 6th. The New Moon forms in your ninth four hours later, at 4:28 pm. Sunday the 2nd is your first Chandra weekday and catches the exalted Sun.

8–14 May

The best week of the month for your eighth house. Exalted Venus is exact with Saturn there in the first hour of Saturday the 8th, at 12:18 am; Venus then leaves for your ninth at 8:45 am on Monday the 10th; and Mercury clears the Sun’s glare around the 11th. Your Chandra days start at 1:40 pm on Thursday the 13th. If a settlement, a loan, an inheritance matter or a piece of hidden business needs moving, this is its week.

15–21 May

The turn. At 12:14 pm on Saturday the 15th the Sun crosses into your tenth house, and the parivartana with Mars ends at that instant — the Moon is on your own sign as it happens. Then the Full Moon fills your fourth house at 4:29 pm on Thursday the 20th, with Mars on your rashi squaring the household mood. Do the demanding thing before midday on the 15th; after that, manage rather than push.

22–28 May

Gains week. Mercury enters your eleventh house at 6:28 pm on Sunday the 23rd — a Sunday, your own weekday — and reaches its widest separation from the Sun on the 27th at nearly 23°. The Sun enters Rohini in your tenth at 9:39 pm on Tuesday the 25th, which is the best five-day run of the month for anything public. This is the week to negotiate in.

29–31 May

Three days with Mars still on your sign at the end of Magha, Saturn thirteen arc-minutes from the end of Pisces, and Ashtama Shani three days from over. Mercury enters Ardra at 10:20 pm on Saturday the 29th. Sunday the 30th is your last Chandra weekday of the month, and a good one for a Surya observance with the ending in view.

Career and Money for Simha Rashi

Career improves through the month rather than at a point. Mercury reaches your tenth house on the 6th and the Sun follows at the Sankranti, so the second fortnight has your ruler in your career house — and in Rohini, its most fertile stretch, from the 25th. Against that, Saturn in the eighth until 3 June keeps anything structural slow: approvals, transfers and restructurings will not conclude on your timetable this month.

Money has two live houses. The eleventh receives Mercury on the 23rd, which is the month’s best negotiating position. The eighth — other people’s money, loans, insurance, inheritance — is where Saturn and exalted Venus are, and the exact contact on the 8th is the likeliest day for something in that category to resolve. Rahu sits in your sixth house in Capricorn, moving from 22°16′ to 20°37′ and staying in Shravana pada 4 all month with no nakshatra change: an unconventional advantage over a rival or a debt. See our financial remedies page.

Home, Family and Partnership

The Full Moon of the 20th in your fourth house, with Mars sitting on your rashi in the ancestral nakshatra Magha, is the month’s domestic signature: a household that wants your attention while you are least patient. Magha is ruled by Ketu and by the pitrs, so an obligation from an older generation is the characteristic form — a property matter, a family duty, an argument that is really about something forty years old.

Your seventh house, Aquarius, is empty, and its lord Saturn is in your eighth all month — so partnership is not the loud part of this chart, but it is where the erosion has been happening. Exalted Jupiter sits in your twelfth house with Ketu, and the two are separating: 58 arc-minutes apart on 1 May, 5°32′ by the 31st, with Jupiter moving only 2°55′ and staying in Ashlesha. Jupiter in the twelfth is protection you cannot see working; when it arrives on your own sign on 26 June, you will be able to.

The calendar is fully open. For anyone considering marriage the constraint is Venus, which goes combust on 6 July 2027 and stays combust until 17 September. See the May 2027 marriage muhurat page, griha pravesh and business and property.

Health

This is the part of a Leo reading that May makes specific. Mars on the Moon sign for thirty-one consecutive days is heat, inflammation, accidents from haste, and a short fuse; Simha Rashi governs the heart, spine and upper back, and Mars in the sign tends to find them. Add Saturn in the eighth — the house of chronic conditions — and the sensible reading is that May is a month for maintenance rather than intensity.

The one genuinely favourable detail is the parivartana. While the Sun and Mars are exchanging signs, up to 12:14 pm on the 15th, physical capacity is unusually high and recovery is good. After that instant the same Mars is just heat. So front-load the physical effort into the first fortnight and use the second for cooling: water, earlier nights, and no arguments conducted while tired. Your Chandra days, 1:40 pm on 13 May to 5:52 pm on 15 May, are the best window for beginning a regimen.

Remedies for Simha Rashi in May 2027

Four conditions: Mars on your rashi in Magha for all 31 days, Ashtama Shani’s last full month with Saturn in the Pisces gandanta, the Sun–Mars exchange ending at the Sankranti, and exalted Venus meeting Saturn in your eighth house on the 8th.

  • Hanuman worship on the Tuesdays — 4, 11, 18 and 25 May: the central remedy of the month. Mars sits on your own sign in Magha for every day of it. Red flowers, sindoor, Hanuman Chalisa after sunset, and a deliberate decision not to have the argument. See the Mangal remedies page, Tuesday fasting and our Mangal dosh page.
  • Saturday observance for Shani — 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 May: five Saturdays in Ashtama Shani’s last full month, and the 8th carries the exact Venus contact in its first hour. Sesame oil, black til, a peepal lamp after sundown, and something given to someone who works with their hands. See the Shani remedies page and Saturday fasting.
  • Surya arghya on all five Sundays — 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 May: water offered to the rising Sun. Your ruler is exalted for the first two of those and in your career house for the last three, so both halves are worth keeping.
  • Act before midday on 15 May: the practical remedy rather than a ritual. The Sun–Mars exchange ends at 12:14 pm that day. Anything needing nerve, physical effort or a direct confrontation is better done while it holds.
  • Shukra observance on Friday 7 May: the one Friday that catches Venus still exalted in your eighth house, the day before it meets Saturn. White cloth, rice and ghee. Continue on 14, 21 and 28 May — see Shukra remedies and Friday fasting.
  • Something for the pitrs: Mars in Magha on your own sign for a full month, with a Full Moon in your fourth house on the 20th, is the ordinary trigger for an ancestral or property obligation surfacing. Water, black til, and food given without announcement. See our Pitra dosh page.
  • Guru worship on the Thursdays — 6, 13, 20 and 27 May: exalted Jupiter is separating from Ketu in your twelfth house and reaches your own sign on 26 June. Turmeric, chana dal, and yellow given to a teacher. See weak-Jupiter remedies and Thursday fasting.
  • Treat the last stretch of Ashtama Shani as the least stable: Saturn spends all of May in a gandanta in your eighth house and leaves on 3 June. Do not start anything structural, and do not read the last four weeks of a two-year transit as its verdict.

In Summary

For Simha Rashi, May 2027 has Mars sitting on your own sign for all 31 days, moving just 11°37′ and never leaving Magha — a slow, hot, seventy-day stay whose midpoint this is. The month’s pivot is 12:14 pm on Saturday 15 May: Vrishabha Sankranti moves your exalted ruler out of your ninth house into your tenth, and at that same instant the Sun–Mars parivartana — each planet in the other’s sign since 26 April — ends. Before it, Mars works for you; after it, Mars is just heat.

Behind that, Ashtama Shani is in its last full month. Saturn spends May in the Pisces gandanta in your eighth house, ending at 29°47′, thirteen arc-minutes from the end of the zodiac, and moves to your ninth on 3 June 2027. Exalted Venus is exact with it at 12:18 am on Saturday 8 May before leaving exaltation on the 10th — relief arriving in the hardest house.

Five Sundays for the Sun’s own sign, Chandra days from 1:40 pm on 13 May to 5:52 pm on 15 May with the Sankranti falling inside them, a Full Moon in your fourth house on the 20th, and a fully open calendar inside the longest open run our tables hold — 82 days from 15 April to 5 July. Then exalted Jupiter arrives on your sign on 26 June. All of this is sign-level: which of the nine Leo padas holds your natal Moon, and where the Sun, Mars and Saturn sit in your own chart, decides how much lands. For more, read April’s reading, what Simha Rashi settles and what the pada decides, and our Shani dosh page.

Ashtama Shani ends on 3 June, and Jupiter arrives on 26 June

Two years of Saturn in your eighth house closing three weeks before exalted Jupiter reaches your sign is worth reading against your own chart — your dasha and your Moon’s pada decide how much of the change you actually feel.
