The 4th Lord in Each of the Twelve Houses

Houses here are whole signs: the ascendant’s sign is the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on round the zodiac. The 4th lord is the graha that rules the sign falling in the 4th, so it changes with the ascendant — Moon for Aries, Sun for Taurus, Mercury for Gemini, Venus for Cancer, Mars for Leo, Jupiter for Virgo, Saturn for Libra, Saturn for Scorpio, Jupiter for Sagittarius, Mars for Capricorn, Venus for Aquarius and Mercury for Pisces. In the Parashari method a bhava lord carries the matters of its house to wherever it sits; for the 4th those matters are mother's influence, home and property, inner contentment, and vehicles.
