The 4th Lord in the 11th House

The 4th lord in the 11th house is the ruler of the 4th, the Sukha Bhava, placed in the 11th, the Labha Bhava. The 4th is a kendra and the 11th an upachaya. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 4th, the 11th is the 8th house, which from any house is a dusthana position; counted back from the 11th, the 4th is the 6th, a dusthana and an upachaya position from it.

For Cancer ascendant the 4th lord, Venus, also rules the 11th, so in the 11th it sits in its own other sign, Taurus. For Capricorn ascendant the 4th lord, Mars, also rules the 11th, so in the 11th it sits in its own other sign, Scorpio.

Where the 11th lord sits in the 4th in the same chart as the 4th lord in the 11th, each lord occupies the other’s sign, an exchange the texts call parivartana. That is possible for ten ascendants. For Cancer (Venus) and Capricorn (Mars) one graha rules both the 4th and the 11th, so there is nothing to exchange.
