The 11th Lord in the 4th House

The 11th lord in the 4th house is the ruler of the 11th, the Labha Bhava, placed in the 4th, the Sukha Bhava. The 11th is an upachaya and the 4th a kendra. Which graha that lord is depends on the ascendant, so the table below answers for all twelve.

Counted from the 11th, the 4th is the 6th house, which from any house is a dusthana and an upachaya position; counted back from the 4th, the 11th is the 8th, a dusthana position from it.

Where the 4th lord sits in the 11th in the same chart as the 11th lord in the 4th, each lord occupies the other’s sign, an exchange the texts call parivartana. That is possible for ten ascendants. For Cancer (Venus) and Capricorn (Mars) one graha rules both the 11th and the 4th, so there is nothing to exchange.
